It seems like years since we've been here

Planning to meet Britney in Diagon Alley brought back so many forgotten memories. They were memories of his pre-Hogwarts days hanging out with Britney on almost a daily basis prior to going to Hogwarts. See they both had known each other before going to Hogwarts, they just never talked that much, man, so much had changed in the past year and a half. Well Ben hadn’t changed that much, but Britney defiantly had! Ben still managed to leave things until last minute, like this date, he had sent the Owl at the last possible moment to inform Britney about their date. Wow it seemed strange saying ‘date’.

Ben finished getting dressed, nothing to fancy. Well nothing fancy at all, Ben was just wearing a regular pair of jeans and one of his favourite tops. He tried to ruffle up his hair, but he couldn’t do that anymore, it was too short now! He glanced at the clock and then took a second look. Yes it was time to go. He had timed it perfectly, see living in a muggle house there was no Floo network or porkeys lying about for easy transportation, but being a Londoner himself, the walk to Diagon Alley wasn’t too difficult. If he remembered where it was that is, he hadn’t been back in ages!

Grabbing his muggle coat and making sure his wand was cleverly concealed so no muggles would spot it, (why he was even taking it he didn’t know, it wasn’t like he could do magic outside of Hogwarts.) That was probably the most annoying Hogwarts rule, he wanted to practice some spells!!! He left the house, it wasn’t snowing today, it was just a chilling breeze. That was the annoying thing about England, it never snowed... really. In London you either got cold winds or rain during the winter. Hogwarts wasn’t much better.

Despite the wind, he arrived at Diagon Alley with minimal trouble. It had been ages since coming here! He had told Britney to meet him in the Leaky Cauldron, and that’s exactly where he was. Now all he had to do was find Britney. Please have gotten the Owl... It just occurred to Ben, he could have picked Britney up from her house, she didn’t live that far from him. That would have been such a good plan! Oh well he was here already.

“Oh hey!” Ben spotted Britney, yes she got his letter!

Britney was back home, it was nice to be back in London, it was something that was different. Last year she was here for a little while and then left to go to Paris for the summer, and this time she was staying at home. As she got there she looked at the owl Ben had sent her right before she left to go back to Hogwarts. It was nice to see that he still wanted to meet her there. She thought that she would have forgot about her date with her. But he did not.

It was wonderful morning, she woke up. And her mother was up. "Morning Mum" She said, as her mother was cooking some breakfast for her. It was eggs and bacon. Something that Britney loved to eat. She knew that she needed to eat something before she walked to Diagon Alley. After she was done eating and walked up to her room, and pulled out some clothes to wear today. She did not know if she wanted to wear a dress, no, it would be way to cold outside to wear a dress.

She knew what she wanted to wear, she had bought a new pair a jeans as soon as she got home, and they were a dark blue color. Then she pulled out a nice long sleve pink and black shirt with a block vest to go over it. Then she let her hair down, that was something ther Britney loved about being at home she was able to leave her hair down. As she brushed it out, she say that her hair was getting a little longer. And the brown was coming out a little, and showing some of her blond. She did not miss her blond hair at all, but it looked good, like there was blond highlights in it.

As she made her way to Diagon Alley, Ben said to meet at the Leaky Cauldron. She knew where that was, though she had not been her in years. She went there once to get her second year school books, but that was all. So she walked over and found somewhere to sit waiting on Ben.

Then after sitting there for a while she heard someone say her name, it was Ben. She was so happy to see him outside of Hogwarts. That was something that had not happen in a long time. "Hey Ben" She said looking over at him, "You know that you can have a seat, I do not bit or anything" She said smiling not knowing how this date was going to go.

Ben hadn’t seen Britney outside of school for a long time, over a year in fact. It was bizarre not seeing her in her usual Hufflepuff uniform, carrying all those text books within the perimeters of Hogwarts. It wasn’t anything like that, but whatever. He pulled up a chair and joined her at the table. “You been here long?” He glanced at the time... ooer he was five minutes late. Bad start!

“Happy Christmas by the way!” Ben hadn’t got her a present, should he have done? “Good to be home after so long?” Ben had planned this date out in his head, start off with a chat in the Leaky Cauldron, and then maybe move onto getting some food. He had thought about ice-cream but it was way too cold for it, hmm do they sell pizzas in Diagon Alley? He doubted it.

He looked down at the empty table, “Oh yeah!” He looked at Britney again, “Did you want a drink or anything?” Buying drinks for girls always made a good impression towards the girl, Ben’s dad had told him so it had to be true. Ben had made the mistake of letting it slip that he was having a date today, the result was his dad giving zealous advice about girls and how to impress them.

Ben looked a lot different not in uniform, she loved that it was break time. This was something that she loved about it. Knowing that this was a date, she did not know how to go on a date though. Ben was her first one. It was crazy. Then he asked a question, "I just got her right before you walked in" She said. She was almost late for this date, she was glad that she was not, though girls are the ones that are always late.

"Same to you" She said, grabbing something from her pocket "This is for you" Sunglasses that would work in the summer, it was all she could think of getting him for christmas, her mother told her she needed to get him something. "I love being home, I can wear my hair down and my muggle clothes" It was nice to wear that, though she did wear a dress at the winter ball.

Something to drink, what did she want to drink. She had no clue. "I would like something to drink" She said, but she did not know what she wanted. Ben was always so sweet to her for some reason, this was a date she had to remember that. Knowing that this was something she wanted to happen for a while.

She got him a present, wheyy how to make Ben feel bad. “Ooh Thanks!” Ben said, he was a bad person. He should have got his almost-nearly-possibly-already girlfriend something for Christmas. Maybe this drink he was offering her would do? “They are really cool!” Ben tried them on, the already dimly lit pub became impossible to see anything on. “Do they suit me?” Ben grinned at Britney. Yeah, wearing sunglasses in doors was never was a good idea.

Taking off his sunglasses, he stood up to get drinks, “Butterbeer right?” He took Britney’s brief nod as a yes and headed to the bar. Hmm maybe if he lowered his voice and stood on his tip-toes he would get away with two firewhiskys. No, that wouldn’t work. “Two butterbeers please!” Ben said to the bar tender who eyed Ben suspiciously. He was probably wondering what to Hogwarts students were doing in the leaky cauldron and not out and about Diagon Alley. Well, you had to start somewhere right?

He handed over the correct amount of sickles and took the two drinks back to their table. Handing one to Britney, Ben sat back down. “So did you enjoy the ball?” Ben asked, hopefully she never heard what Alkeen had yelled about her in the tent, she hadn’t mentioned it anyway.

So Ben liked the sunglasses that was a good things, she knew that it would be something that she liked a lot. "You are welcome Ben" She said, though she had not gotten anything that was alright for Britney. She did not need something from Ben, just having him her it was a good thing. "Those glasses are pefect for you" She said, knowing that they did, she hoped that he would like them. She was glad that she did.

Ben went and got them some Butterbeer. What a strange name, but it was something that she had loved when she went to Diagon Alley. It was one of her favorite drinks here. Though she was a muggle she been in the wizard world for about two years, she had started to like all the drinks that were her. Something that Muggles would have never knowed about.

"I did like the ball, it was fun" She said, "Did you?" Remembering the ball was wonderful. She loved it, dressing up and looking pretty, and it was something that she never thought that she was able to do being at Hogwarts, but it was a nice surpised.

"So what you have planed for us today" She said taking another sip ofher drink.

“Yeah the ball was good” Ben replied, taking a sip of butterbeer. He liked butterbeer, it was such a satisfying drink. As for the ball, Ben had really enjoyed the evening. He never thought he would enjoy a ball, but it turned out he could. He also found he wasn’t a bad dancer.... yay!

Ben had thought out the date with Britney in his head prior to arriving in Diagon Alley. “Well” Darn, he should have written his ideas down, he was bound to forget them. “We could er-“ He thought for a moment, “We could walk around Diagon Alley for a bit” Ben could tell Britney wasn’t impressed, he was going to have to think of something else, “And get something to eat” Ben almost said it as if he was asking a question.

“Is there anything specifically you want to do?” Maybe Britney had a really great idea she wanted to share with Ben, or going to get something to eat it will have to be. “Do you remember our old trips to Diagon Alley?” Ben thought back to their Knockturn Alley adventure and browsing Diagon Alley. “Good times.”
