Gryffindor House Table

Recommended Posts

Lee Dashner

Lee walked into the Great Hall as skim the tables he found the ones in the maroon color robes so he sat down with them. Lee is a first year and he was scared on the first day of the new term because he doesn’t know anyone here.

Lee sat down and made a plate of eggs bacon sausage toast and a toaster strudel. Lee eats his plate but didn’t notice someone come by and sat next to him.

She hadn't realized how hungry she had been until she sat down at the Gryffindor table and saw the all the food, and the students piling the various delicacies onto their plates. Her stomach growled loudly at smells wafting towards her. She didn't know where to start there was so much food.

Grabbing some chicken and potatoes and filling her glass with a drink she dug into her plate of food. She had sat down next to someone, a boy about her age. He was eating a plate of eggs, bacon and other breakfast foods. There really was everything one could ever want at this feast.

"Could you pass me the peas?" Lilith asked @Lee Dashner, the young boy next to her.

@Lilith Cain Lee looked around and said “sure!” He reached over and got the peas and hands them to her. “My name is Lee Dashner Prankster king.”  Lee watched as she got a spoonful of peas but it wasn’t because he handed her corn but had the peas in hand to give to her. Lee says “oops sorry wrong vegetable. Here are the peas.”

She sat at the table eating her mashed potatoes, clearly a vastly, more superior food, but having been surrounded by first years, she took the opportunity and dug her spoon into her food, scooped up a glorious size of spuds and flung it across the table hitting a poor defenseless underclassman.

"SCORE!"

"Are you trying to start a food fight?"

It was the question he'd been trying to ask but between the laughing (his neighbor looked pretty silly with a gob of potato hanging from their cheek so) and the fact his mouth was stuffed full he wasn't sure it came out right.

Tamsin Sauvigni

Tami was glad to be back at Hogwarts, now about to start her fourth year at the school. Her OWL exams were drawing closer now, but she would still have two years of study ahead of her before then. This was not the time to be thinking about exams though, this was sorting night and Tami cheered as the line of first years were brought out to learn their fate.

This year, Tami didn't have anyone in particular that she was rooting for. Elewyn was sorted, and was already a Hufflepuff. She would be seated at her own house table, watching the proceedings for the first time. Tami had been here twice before, but that did not make the sorting ceremony any less exciting.

She watched the procession of first years as the sorting took place before her eyes, cheering as each new Gryffindor was announced. She was pleased in all cases of course, but it was customary to cheer loudest for your own students and she welcomed all the new lions with loud voice and frenzied clapping.

One of the newly sorted gryffindors took a seat next to her, and Tami looked her way and smiled. "Welcome to Gryffindor, I'm Tami" she welcomed the new arrival.

Verity Doran

A newly-sorted Verity flung herself down beside an older girl with pretty red hair.  “Thanks!” she said, beaming at the girl’s welcome.  “I’m Verity.”  The Hat called out another house then, and her attention snapped back to the sorting.  She cheered each of her new housemates as they arrived, clapping and stomping along with the rest of the house till her hands felt like they were going to go numb.

And then, finally, it was Joe’s turn.  She braced herself, ready to tackle him if need be, but she didn’t need to bother.  “Hufflepuff!” yelled the Hat.  “Aww, crud.” muttered Verity, but she clapped anyway cause Joe hadn’t tried to escape and any sort of progress on that front ought to be celebrated.

Once he was sitting down, she caught his eye and shot him a double thumbs up.  “So cool!” she mouthed before turning back to her older, wiser housemate.  “Hey, d’you reckon I could visit the Hufflepuff table later or will I, like, get magic’ed into something gross?”

The first year girl introduced herself as Verity, which Tami thought was a pretty name. After introducing herself though, Verity turned back to the sorting and Tami did likewise. She wasn't watching anyone else especially, but the sorting was always interesting and she continued to applaud each time a new Gryffindor was announced.

She may not have been watching anyone in particular, but she noticed that Verity showed a certain interest in one boy which the sat sorted into Hufflepuff, even going so far as to single him out for a double thumbs-up when he took his place at his new house table.

"A friend of yours?" Tami asked out of curiosity. It wouldn't surprise her if she had befriended the boy on the train, or beforehand. It seemed to Tami that she and the Hufflepuff boy were closer than most Hufflepuff students. "My sister is in Hufflepuff" Tami offered "I could ask her to keep an eye on him if you like."

Verity asked her if she might be allowed to visit the Hufflepuf table later, and Tami nodded. "People tend to stay with their house tables during the sorting and feast" she pointed out "but afterwards you are free to mingle." She did offer one word of advice though. "Before we leave, the prefects will call the first years for a tour of the castle, then show you the way to the common room" she pointed out "you might want to be around for that."

Chaol Edevane

Chaol had done absolutely zero research about the houses, so he had no idea if being sorted into Gryffindor was a good thing or not. Still, the lot of them looked friendly enough, and soon he'd have a place that he could call his own. All in all, a good deal.

Keeping his eyes on the last few students waiting to hear what house they'd be in, Chaol murmured. "Any chance we'll get to eat before the night ends?"

Another year, another day of the usual craziness. Sorting night was always the craziest day of the year. "Hi new Gryffindors!" she greeted them as they slowly joined the table one by one.

She of course was clapping for every Gryffindor that sat down much louder than her polite applause for the kids sorted in the other houses.

Another year. Another start of the school year feast. This wasn't just any feast. It was the last one she would ever have here at Hogwarts. The last one where she would get to welcome the new first years. They looked so small and scared.

While she was still piling on her plate, Alecia looked at a few of them and introduced herself. "Hello there new Lions. My name is Alecia. If you need any help finding secret passageways I am your girl."

That got his attention.

"Secret passageways?" he asked @Alecia Yates. "Where are they? Where do they go?"

Alecia didn't get a chance to bite into a food since a young boy decided to take her up on her offer. "If I told you right now it wouldn't be a secret right? What is your name? We can always get a group together once everyone gets settled in and we can explore the castle."

Verity Doran

"Huh?  Oh, yeah, that's Joe.  We were on the train together."  Verity made a point of leaving out all the stuff about how he didn't wanna be at Hogwarts and how she'd had to literally sit on him to stop him from attempting to make an escape while en route to the feast.  "Would your sister mind?" She asked, perking right up, "Cause that'd be brilliant.  Just till he gets a handle on stuff, I mean."  More like till she figured out a way to sneak into the Hufflepuff common room herself, but she wasn't about to blab her plans right in the middle of the feast.

Verity loaded her plate with some of everything within arm's reach.  "Did somebody say 'secret passages'?"  That could kill two birds with one stone: Gryff bonding and learning how to sneak into Hufflepuff.  "Sign me up for that."

"I'm Chaol. Chaol Edevane." He looked down the table towards his fellow first years. "Oi! Who wants to go find the secret passages later? Excellent!" he added when Verity was up for it.

"Sounds like a plan. We could even have our own secret name and handshake." Alecia dug into the pot roast and started to eat it in silence. It was her favorite dish and the house elves always did an amazing job. She decided to pay them a visit later curious as to how they spent their summers when there was no students to cook for at Hogwarts.

"You guys are going to love being in Gryffindor. It is the best house at Hogwarts."

Alvis Anderson

''Howdy doodly do little cubs!'' Alvis bellowed at the top of his lungs as he hopped on top of the house table just as most had finished their feast, ''I don't have long but well done for making it to the best house of the lot, come find me in the chamber tomorrow to learn how to jinx, hex and curse your foes, well and ya friends I guess! TTFN!'' At that, he set off for the Hufflepuff table to seek out his one true badger.

Tami sat at the Gryffindor table, feeling far more responsible than she had last year. This time, a shiny new Prefect badge hung from her robes, and this year she would be helping to look after the rest of the students at the school, in particular the first years whom she and @Isobel Blakewould be escorting on the tour a little later. Before she had sat down to the feast, Tami had visited the quidditch pitch and made a few final preparations for the leg of the tour that would take place there.

For now though, there was the sorting to get through, and Tami paid particular attention whenever a new Gryffindor was announced. She even tried to keep a count of how many there were and what they looked like, she felt that would be important later. Of course, she also cheered along with the rest of her house.

She was particularly excited when @Hailey Hooferbecame a new lion. Tami knew Alyssa's sister, and she wanted her  time at Hogwarts to be a happy one. She would do everything she could to support that girl, she was sure that was what Alyssa would want.
