Minister Granger-Weasley

Your First Day With Minister Granger-Weasley

Recommended Posts

Harmony Granger-Weasley

Harmony was happy to see her Gran. It was of course strange to see her at school, but the appearance was welcome. She nodded at @Ralph Digby Hamilton's statement.

"Yup, that's my Gran!" She responded, before joining the circle.

Jack Dare

"A trust circle! Oh goody!" Jack said. It was about time for people to lay down their animosities and stand as one. "Shall we hold hands?"

Amelia Martin

Amelia was not normally impressed with authority figures, but the history buff in her who exactly who was standing before them all, and suffice it to say, she was mega impressed. The Hermione Granger. The second year was really more of a chaotic-neutral than a lawful-good--as Minister Granger-Weasley surely was. It still didn't deter her from standing when she'd been asked, and moving into a circle as well. She came to stand beside @Samantha Grier, winced momentarily at the proximity to the Hufflepuff, and then promptly ignored her in favor of seeing what the Minister would do next.

He wasn't joining the goddamn circle, okay? It just wasn't happening. Not for Granger's whole sodding life or anyone elses. He was a professional for flacks sake! What the hell would he look like doing trust-falls with 4th years and burning little scraps of paper with his secrets on them to 'burn them away from his aura'?

His co-workers could take off their shoes and chant if they wanted to. He'd stand in the corner thank you very much.

Professor Pichardo

Rather reluctantly, Oliver moved away from his place by the wall and his head tilted to the side at the suggestion that they all join in the circle.

He was under the assuption that he was here to provide crowd control not participate in any ill advised team building activity that the Minister had cooked up for these kids.  He had plenty of things to be taking care of at home.  But he stepped forward and shoved Santiago on the shoulder in the process.

If he had to be here, the other man did too.

“If she starts to sing, I’m conjuring up earplugs.” He muttered.  He didn’t even like to hear himself sing anymore and he’d once upon a time been paid for it.

Ollie Celeste

A circle? It was only because she wanted to ask her questions that she went through with the instruction, not wanting to give any staff member any excuse to bar her from questioning. It was clear, however, that Ollie was Not Amused.

Davis Turlough

Eyeing the minster of magic, Davis continued to idly eat his food.  Sure, she was an important person, but to him, she was the person who sent him back a canned response when he'd taken the time to write her nicely about her granddaughter.  Flicking his eyes towards @Harmony Granger-Weasley, he smiled slightly, but then returned to eating, only half paying attention to @Minister Granger-Weasley.

She earned his full attention, however, when she was stepping out from behind the podium with her wand, telling them to stand up.  "What...?" he questioned, glancing at his plate with a frown.  It wasn't until she started counting that he actually stood up, but not before hastily grabbing a handful of bacon.  "Now what?  More platitudes that aren't real like her letters?" he grumped under his breath as he moved off to the side, standing near the circle, but not quite in it yet.  Truthfully, he supported the minister if for no reason other than she was his teammates grandmother, but he was still a bit miffed that she probably never even read his letter.

Josie Potter

Circle?  Sounded like a plan to Josie.  As she found a place, she noticed one of the aurors still standing by the wall.  Calling out to the auror (who happened to be @Julian Trice) she held out a hand and offered, "You can come stand here!"

Wyatt Lazarus

The actual minister for magic?

Wyatt rarely stepped foot into the great hall for meal. He much preferred spending time alone, hiding away in his makeshift potions lab. That morning was different, he wanted to try and catch up with a couple of seventh years now they were back from the summer. He had no expected to see someone he admired as a role model to be standing there - and then requesting them to stand in a circle.

Wyatt - being the clumsy fool he was  - tripped up over his own robes as he moved on @Minister Granger-Weasley's instructions. His bag toppled down, splitting and emptying the contents over the floor. One of those items was a decoy detonator - brought to escape NEWT preparation - which now could be heard around the entire hall. If this was the noise that @Professor Santiagowas waiting for, then it may just be an accident that was meant to be.

Salomé Schiferli

Salomé was eating when the bloody Prime Minister was here. She frowned at her and turned her attention back towards her food, until she was told to stand up. "I don't want to. I'm eating." She mumbled more to herself than anyone else.

Jerome Chan

Jerome was one of the very eager and expectant ones when the minister of magic began speaking, but he soon turned confused and almost scared when the tables started moving and they were told to get into a circle. He didn't know what to expect, but when he heard his classmate @Jack Dare comment about a trust circle, he started to understand a bit more. Of course, he would have followed instructions either way, but it was nice to know the purpose of following instructions in this case, since it seemed like the minister was breaking free from the script.

Prince A. Charming

He nodded at @Willa Henry and said, "No idea. Think we can leave and get more food?" He didn't want to be there for whatever was about to happen.

The Decoy Detonator being sent off pulled Amy out of her Awed Stupor. Her attention was pulled in two directions--1. On @Minister Granger-Weasley and 2. On @Davis Turlough, who was running around trying to capture the damn thing. "Can someone do something about the noise? It's behind that Hufflepuff. We're kind of in the middle of something here," the second year drawled, gesturing toward the Minister of Magic, an impatient gleam in her eyes.

Samantha Grier

Samantha had made it back to the school, with much trepidation in her heart. Her mum had told her it would be good for her to 'be bold' and 'face her fears'. Yes, her fear of a werewolf turning on the full moon and chewing her head off was something she could just face. Because facing a werewolf was the best know way to keep it from eating you alive.

Anyway, here she was. In the great hall. Day two. Facing her fears.

Also, here was the Minister of Magic herself, @Minister Granger-Weasley in a rather unexpected twist of events. And she had locked them all inside. Everyone. Students, professors, and other Ministry officials. She also wanted them to line up in a circle, although this command seemed to be a bit harder for some people to understand. Sammy understood perfectly well. She realized she'd probably get in huge trouble if she didn't do so.

And so she did.

...with @Amelia Martin lining up right beside her.

Great. This is just what she needed. To be having the poo scared out of her by the Minister and to be tortured by the Slytherin who hated her as well.

Just when she thought she'd find out why they were all locked in the Hall, someone set off a rather noisy decoy detonator that caused the Hufflepuff to fling her hands up over her ears and for small tears to well up in her eyes. She couldn't have any other reaction; she was so overwhelmed.

This was a perfect way to start out her second year at Hogwarts.

Sammy just wanted to go home.

Merlin, he’d thought that McGonagall had been joking when she said that the Minister was going to show up to school.

Did she seriously want them to stand in a circle and pretend that they were all friends? Hell, he couldn’t go to the Great Hall without witnessing a fight break out. ._.

Tamsin Sauvigni

Tami attended in her capacity of Gryffindor prefect, although her badge felt unnecessary. There was plenty staff members, and the minister herself to maintain order. Right now, she almost felt like just another student. Still, she stood when asked and join the circle. She did what was asked of her.

Minister Granger-Weasley

Her eyes narrowed at the professor who continued to insist on leaving, but was once again distracted, this time by a decoy detonator. She would kindly assume it had been an honest accident by the student @Wyatt Lazarus, but that was his only strike. With a flick of her wand, the detonator was simply annihilated, leaving no trace of its remains. She side-eyed her staff and aurors, wondering what use they were if they couldn't even handle that themselves.

"I want you all to take a look at your Potions professor (@Professor Santiago) and understand that he is graciously giving you an example of how not to behave." And that would be the one and only strike for that man as well.

"You don't have to hold hands," Hermione explained. "This is only so that you're all able to see and hear me." Merlin, it wasn't rocket science.

Friendly reminder that you may only post once between my posts so that others do not get lost in a sea of activity.

Adam Sinclair

Nope. He knew all about this double speak people tended to when they thought the person listening couldn't' follow along. Granger might have not been planning to use her own hands in this murder set-up, but she certainly could ( and seemingly had no issue with it, if his pops was to be believed) instruct her bodyguards to lay unforgivable waste to everyone in the room--was that his uncle in the corner trying to blend into the wall? Adam squinted as he stood on his toes trying to see past several students.

Yep. They were going to die. They were all going to die and he hadn't even finished his sticky stack of pancakes.

Steph had read a great deal about the minister and her friends at Hogwarts. It seemed like they were all going to hear an important speech, but then she shut the doors and asked everyone to gather in a circle. Was she about to give a demonstration instead?

Elewyn wondered what was happening, she respected the minister but she wasn't sure if the woman was going to address them or show them something or what? She could only pay attention and do what ever was asked of her.

Joe was getting bored. He was going to hear a speach from some upstart styling herself as Minister for Magic, then the doors were shut and they were all asked to stand in a circle. Why was she wasting their time?

This was Sophie's first year at Hogwarts and already the minister had come to pay them a visit and ask them all to stand in a circle. She would do what she was asked of course, but she was curious as to the reason.

"Nah. Let's stay and see what this is about..." Willa answered, shoving the last bit of pastry in her mouth and reaching into her pocket to offer @Prince A. Charming one of the caramels from her summer trip to Honeydukes. "What do you think this is about?"

She was not going to be holding anyones hand.

Professor Mendelssohn

Proving friendships were pointless and it was every man for themselves, Mateo rejected her aid and continued his attempts to escape. “Fine, good luck with your cauldrons,” she bowed out of the matter and reluctantly joined the circle, arms crossed and disinterest evident. Enthusiasm was not her forte. That said, the Minister did manage to elicit some emotion from the woman, a grin flashing across her features the moment Mateo was called out for his behaviour. ‘Brutal’ she mouthed in his direction, before regaining an air of authority.

Avery Potter

Who had set the noise off?

Avery had recognised the detonator straight away (it was part of her family history after all) and smiled as her aunt destroyed it. She couldn't wait to learn a spell as powerful as that as she grew older. So far, Avery had managed to stay under the radar. If she could remain that way then maybe her breakfast would not be a horrible disaster, as sorting night had been.
