watching the words fall from my lips

Aurora Andrews

The game had sounded like a bit of fun between friends and it definitely still felt that way to the redhead of course but at first sight of watching Arwa make her way towards Isobel had Aurora's head perk up from her spot in the circle. It had her acutely aware of the room, what was happening, and when had Arwa looked so tempting in her life???? Aurora's head tilted as she watched the two girls get closer and closer until they were kissing.

And oh my sweet baby merlin were they kissing.

Aurora's mouth dropped open in some shameless staring at the two Gryffindors wondering when she would get a chance with either girl because neither had ever looked so alluring in that moment. Of course, she hadn't missed the fact that both girls were easily some of the most gorgeous girls at the school, but she'd never considered an opportunity opening where either girl would be interested in enough for a simple snog. Even if she would crave more than just that with most of the girls if she was being truly honest with herself.

Now when it was Arwa's turn with the bottle, she'd never suspected that fate would literally send that damn thing her way. The second she looked up from the bottle to that friend, she felt the sliver of anticipation slide down her back and the absolutely strong feeling of butterflies in her stomach. She took a quick breath of air to relax because she had no reason to be this nervous, it was just kissing... and it was just Arwa.

Just Arwa

Hah right.

The simple fact that her heart had started racing told her otherwise.

At the lightest touch from Arwa, the redhead froze, she'd acknowledged her sexuality a long time ago but to be face to face with someone of the other sex for the first time in such an intimate setting had the girl reeling for a moment but once Arwa spoke and eased the moment for her, something was set off in Aurora and she reached bringing them as close as humanly possible for the two, chasing Arwa's lips with her own. Aurora wasn't about to play around with a simple kiss when she had the chance of a lifetime.

Good God this was not helping. Arwa had to be a good snog to keep leaving the little beat of Hazel's heart sporadically jumping every time she even neared another girl. It certainly didn't help that the girl in question was Aurora - who she'd grown almost as close to as she had Arwa - and who called her babe and made her feel like there would never be another girl as pretty as her. It all felt overwhelming. One thing was for sure though, Hazel wished Julian was sitting near her right now. She wished that she could hold his hand or just let him take her mind away from that moment and all the things switching back and forth in her brain.

Hazel had to tear her eyes away from the hand that was gripping Aurora closer to Arwa and focus on the figure of her boyfriend. His cheeks were flushed and Hazel felt even more at a loss than she had before. No one. Not even as beautiful as Arwa and Aurora were, could compare to Julian Pritchard. She smiled at him, cocking her head a bit and patting the spot next to her, "If I'm kissing anyone I'm hoping it's you."

COY HAZEL HAS COME TO PLAY

There was no hiding the blush that spread from the back of her neck as soon as she said it, but Hazel couldn't take it back now. And it was true. Hazel had waited for ages just to get another chance to kiss Julian. She'd thought about their frantic moment in the cupboard and how everything that could have gone wrong had gone wrong. What if they got another shot? Even in front of all these people? Hazel's lips parted at the thought and it felt very important to her to get him in this circle. Just for the chance.

"Just for a little while. Then we can go somewhere else later?" She felt like even her whisper was too loud as their classmates chattered and the group dynamic felt aflame with the view of Arwa and Aurora. This was just for her and Ju. "I mean, only if you want to." And out of all the desperate pleas she'd made that night, nothing felt like this.

Somewhere just out of view, @Aurora Andrews spun a bottle that landed on @Emmett Blaze.

Alyssa wasn't sure what she was doing there. She wanted to do more with her classmates. She even wanted to invite them over sometime over the summer for a pool party, but this was almost too much. People were kissing each other with what seemed like ease. It had taken her forever to work up the nerve to kiss Dorjee. What if she got someone else? Would he be jealous? Would she even be able to do it? And what if she got a girl? It wasn't that she was opposed to it; she just couldn't imagine it. Would a girl even want to kiss her? Would another boy? Perhaps the bottle would never land on her, and she wouldn't have to worry about it. She knew she couldn't chicken out now, she said she'd play and she didn't back out on her promises.

Scout Matthews

With how the last couple of months had played out, Scout had remained content with distancing himself from the rest of his classmates. And yet, the fourteen-year-old found himself with the crowd once again, albeit, feeling like an outsider as the rest gathered together to form a larger circle. Not everyone was participating, but as the game began Scout assumed it would only be a matter of time until the others fell in line. The bottle had spun across the floor and then lips crashed together in a fit of awkward neediness.

Scout had to look away, the small badger taking a great interest in the remaining bit of pizza on his paper plate. He picked at it with his fingers, trying to ignore the heat that slowly but surely crawling up his neck and face.

Why?

The teenager had to tell himself he had no interest in what was going on, but with the others so busy with their game there was nothing left for him to focus on. He could only remain fixated on his dinner for so long and even then, it was apparent that the boy was looking for an escape. Scout could have gotten up and taken his leave, no one would have noticed. The group had more or less dedicated their attention to the night's festivities, and he was sure it would've been okay for him to have just slipped out the door.

It would've been for the best. He could avoid the jealousy and emotion that was sure to come from people kissing other boyfriends and girlfriends. It would've let him ignore the ugly feeling inside himself as everyone else seemed to be happy and content playing with each other. It would've kept him from wanting to join in in the slim hope he would have been able to kiss @Simon Reed despite everything that had happened.

He shouldn't be here. This wasn't going to be good for him even as the bottle spun once again, declaring it was Emmett and Rory's turn.

Had time stopped???

Because kissing Arwa had the redhead wondering that exact question, the hands that held the girl close to her beckoned to stay where they were but a voice inside her head reminded her that the two of them had an audience and she was faced with the realization that she would have to break away. And even as Aurora released her grip and pulled away, everything in her body wanted to chase those lips back. But a game was afoot and there was plenty of drama and fun for everyone to have, still, she struggled to shake the eye contact with Arwa. She'd honestly kissed the first girl of her life and she didn't know what to do in the aftermath except gape at her in a daze. At least until the nudge to her side brought Aurora back to reality and the bottle waiting for her to give it a spin. The redhead licked her lips before giving it a swift spin, watching it pass by everyone once, then twice, and then.... it stopped.

Aurora steeled her gaze to look up and was met with the form of Emmett.

A very cute boy she would have had zero problems with snogging except for the gorgeous and yet probably very dangerous @Isobel Blake. If there was someone in their year she was certain could kill one of them and get away with it, she'd put her money on her. It wasn't hard to catch the looks between them or the tension in the air but the redhead also loved a good dose of drama, and she couldn't say that she hadn't thought about what kissing him would be like after their time in the library.

At the very least if she was going to die, she'd at least kissed Arwa.

Arwa had made it look so easy sauntering over to both her and Isobel, but the tables had turned and now she was faced with the task of approaching and for some weird reason that made the redhead a little nervous. Being confident was second nature to her, so literally breathed in and out and headed Emmett's way hoping to Merlin he wouldn't chicken out on her - that wouldn't be embarrassing at all.

She'd never questioned kissing Simon, or even Arwa moments prior but coming face to face with Emmett had her feeling funny. Kissing Simon had been easy, comforting, expected even but Emmett was like the cute guy you're pretty sure you have no chance with. It was two entirely different feelings but a game was a game and boy was Aurora curious about kissing him.

She'd await her death from Isobel willingly.

Aurora gently slipped her hand under Emmett's jaw, meeting his gaze for only a second for confirmation and then she went for it, slipping her other hand around his neck. She'd completely forgot all about everyone else in the room.

Whoops?

Behati Gadot

This kissing game was reminding Behati why she didn’t even like sharing eating utensils that had been in other people’s mouths. From Arwa and Isobel to Arwa and Aurora to Aurora and Emmett. All kisses with people who she currently disliked, and who disliked her (sans Arwa???).

She flipped another page in her book.

Simon Reed

As soon as the warbled sound of the spinning glass filled the room, a completely unfounded yet overwhelming fear of missing out began to infiltrate his consciousness. It felt like an itch he wanted to scratch, or scab that he wanted to pick at, ultimately knowing deep down that it would cause more irritation or damage than actual good were he to act on his impulses. He weighed his options repeatedly for a minute until he found himself dragging a chair next to Julian’s. He turned it around, straddled the seat and slumped over its back. He’d join in observing for now. There was definitely no harm, no foul… though perhaps the radio silence over the last few days between Rad and Simon should serve as more of a hint. The lack of communication left him feeling like he had no ground to stand on or direction, to be honest Rad was probably getting ready to break up with him, ghost him. Simon didn’t know what had happen to cause such a drastic change in their relationship, but he definitely didn’t want to think about it right. He wanted to enjoy his last night as a fourth year with all of his friends. Watch the chaos, the drama and whatever else would happen once  the bottle stopped.

Isobel and Arwa, a combination that definitely brought a little bit of heat across his cheeks and made him uncomfortably shift in his chair. Arwa and Aurora?  He felt his stomach drop as he folded his arms on top of the chair and hid most of his face against his forearms. It was weird to watch your best friend and ex-something gearing up to kiss somebody else. Not that he didn’t want her to, they were friends, they had fixed things… he shouldn’t be feeling anything other than happiness for his friend who was expanding her range and having fun. Except the anticipation that came before they locked lips left Simon a little more distraught than it should have, and at the last second he found himself shutting his eyes tightly.

One Alohomora, Two Alohomora, Three Alohomora... the comforting sound of the bottle spinning could be heard again, though Aurora was to kiss somebody else. Emmett. For some reason it made him even more ill of her kissing another bloke. He needed a distraction. He glanced around only to find himself listening to Hazel try to coax Julian into the game, “Ju, I think you’re girlfriend wants you to kiss her. You do know you don’t need a game to do so, right? Maybe you should join… I’ll go, if you do.” He offered, though perhaps he would wait until Aurora was done snogging Emmett before joining in.

Shiloh Paige

Shiloh had been sitting still one hand in her girlfriend's waiting for another bottle spin and being a bit more cavalier about all the kissing that she might have been if she understood how Mono worked. But they were Wixes, it wasn't like Wixes even got Mono (right, RIGHT?!?!?!).

At Aurora's spin landing on Emmett some sort of fantasy started to roll in her head, especially since she had almost asked him out for real earlier in the year when he was all goo goo for Isobel. Was that still a thing even?

But now she couldn't help but imagine the future where he had to spin and it landed on her, she could imagine him walking over to her and just leaning down, offering a hand to help her off the floor where everyone was sitting. The feel of his fingers across her knuckles and on her waist as he pulled her closer to him – for a moment making her feel just a little weak.

She let out an actual audible groan, though it was just a tiny one, and her face flushed as she tried to find literally anywhere she could look without giving away that entire mental picture.

Emmett Blaze

Arwa's grin sent a fresh shot of anger through him, liquid heat ablaze in his veins, matches pressed into his skin. He grit his teeth, forcing his expression even. He didn't look that way again, and avoided Isobel's gaze as if she were a basilisk.

Also, he craved revenge.

Arwa and Aurora's kiss seemed nice enough, but interested Emmett far less.

When Aurora's spin landed on him, however, a smile rose on his lips, his gaze darkening in anticipation. His heart skipped. At one point, he may have hesitated because of Simon, but Simon and Aurora  were long over, and this was a game. This was exactly what he wanted. Aurora was pretty,  and they got along as casual friends or bros. He thought he'd enjoy kissing her, even, which would make his desire to stir jealousy in Isobel that much easier.

Although.. it wasn't really about that, not in the moment, anyway, as he leaned forward, meeting Aurora's gaze and smirking. He thought of their time in the library, and how unexpectedly enjoyable the banter and secret-swap had been. As far as he knew, she hadn't shared his secret (that he wore glasses to read—Emmett tended to care/feel embarrassed by things that wouldn't matter to anything else). "I guess I'm about to learn even more than your darkest secret," he murmured as her hand slipped under his jaw. He liked the confidence in the gesture, found it oddly attractive.

And then, her other hand reached around his neck, and her lips met his. There was a moment in which he was tempted to keep his eyes open, to gauge Isobel's reaction from his peripheral, but he didn't bother. Instead, he did what felt natural, deepening the kiss, head tilting to match her movements, hands wrapping around the curve of her back, pulling her closer.

By the time he pulled back, he felt a little dizzy. Aurora was still his bro (more or less), but she could definitely kiss. "I can't wait to learn what other tricks you have up your sleeve," he teased, awaiting Hazel to cue him to spin the bottle.

Stella was relieved that @Shiloh Paige seemed interested in playing, or at least not offended that Stella would even entertain the idea of kissing someone else.  Sometimes her girlfriend was hard to read; they shared an intense bond, but they didn't talk about their feelings or boundaries for the relationship very often.  Stella, consumed by her own experiences in the relationship, assumed that Shiloh was as deeply monogamous as she was.  At fifteen she had finally come to the realization that everyone in the world had an engrossing interior life like hers, that the world didn't revolve around her.  The attacks had certainly taught her that.  But she still assumed that everyone else had an interiority broadly similar to her own.  The two of them were in this together, in this thing they had forged together out of the ashes.  It had to be the same for Shiloh, didn't it? They usually didn't need to talk of such things because they just understood, without words.

She snuggled close to her girlfriend to watch the spectacle, relieved when Isobel was brave enough to volunteer herself first.  But she flushed pink and averted her eyes when @Arwa Hashmi-Andrada and @Isobel Blake kissed.  She somehow felt uncomfortable witnessing such an intimate moment.  The kiss was tenderer than she imagined, not just a quick peck between classmates playing a game of spin the bottle.  In fact, it was not unlike the way she and Shiloh kissed.  Was this the kind of kissing she had signed up for?  Would she have to kiss someone else like that?  Could she, if it wasn't Shiloh, someone she cared about?

Shiloh seemed more discomfited by Aurora and @Emmett Blaze's kiss, but Stella assumed it was for the same reason.  Were Arwa and Aurora just really intense kissers? Stella squeezed her girlfriend's hand and murmured, "It's awkward to watch, isn't it?"

Julian Pritchard

Julian’s face hadn’t stopped burning when Hazel patted the spot next to her. If it had, though, it would’ve immediately started again. He was sure he must be redder than a tomato. He nodded mutely, and sat the paper plate that had contained his pizza on his desk. He suddenly quite regretted having eaten, even though everyone else had too. Why had no one suggested they all go brush their teeth before playing this?

“Yeah, I got what she meant, Simon,” he grumbled at his roommate (though in all fairness to Simon, the whole bit about going somewhere else later had gone entirely over his head; in his mind he was imagining taking a nice walk round the greenhouses). He still didn’t really want to play. But Hazel had essentially asked him to, and that conversation he’d had with Alex when the younger boy had asked him if he was really Pali’s boyfriend even if they didn’t do ‘the things boyfriends and girlfriends did’ kept playing in his mind. Maybe it was important. He just hoped he wouldn’t disappoint her. Or have to kiss too many of the others.

“Alright, I’ll play,” he announced, sliding off his chair and onto the ground, and hoping no one noticed the fact that his voice had wavered a little bit.

Hazel's relief crashed over her like a tidal wave when Julian accepted her offer, even if Simon's comment made her roll her eyes and stick her tongue out at him. She smiled and was completely distracted from the Arwa and Aurora fantasy that had basically just played out for everyone to see. She didn't get much time in a sanctuary from all the thoughts bouncing around in her head, however, because Hazel had finally zeroed in on what was happening as Aurora made her way to Emmett. It'd be a lie for Hazel to say that she hadn't thought of kissing Emmett. They'd become close in a rather short period of time and he was bloody attractive with his sharp lines and dark eyes. Their night and day dynamic had, of course, warranted stray thoughts.

And here he was, bending into the kiss with Aurora who she'd already had to completely distance herself from staring at for too long. The longer Hazel looked - to see the touch of lips or the brush of a hand on the cheek - the more she was utterly convinced that the attraction wasn't to one or the other. It was to both of them. Imagine being in a kiss with Aurora AND Emmett. Divine.

She released a breath through her gritted teeth as they pulled apart, and Hazel realized she was still half leaning into Julian and Emmett had his hand on the bottle. Her skin felt hot but it just drew her closer to Julian. She sunk deeper into the familiarity until they were brushing shoulders and her body was pressed against his side. Nothing was really making sense, but Julian always brought her clarity and comfort.

They'd never had this much physical contact before. What was this game doing to her?

The familiar ringing of the glass slowing to a stop brought Hazel back to the moment. She got out of her head and into the game at hand only to realize the neck of the bottle was pointed at the boy she pressed into. The Hufflepuff blinked and her eyes widened a bit as she met the eyes of @Emmett Blaze. She glanced from one Ravenclaw to the next before realizing that Emmett was about to get the kiss that she'd been hoping was just for her. Hazel held up a finger and pushed herself onto her knees (trying to make herself more on a level to Julian). Doing a familiar move that Rory and Arwa had done before, she slid her hand to the side of his neck and tilted his face so that it lined up with hers. She smiled slightly and her eyes scrunching at the corners; Hazel leaned in and kissed him.

Finally. Hazel had almost forgotten what it was like to kiss Julian. In the cupboard, she had barely had a chance to gather her senses over the loud screaming of her emotions. But the feeling of his lips. That was something she probably wouldn't forget. Hazel curved into the kiss and almost had to stop herself from whisking him out of this room and down to the greenhouses. Because who needed to play spin the bottle when you could just kiss your boyfriend? Their friends were still waiting, and Julian was up. They had all the time in the world for just the two of them. For now, Emmett could have him.

"Alright," she said as she pulled away, hair falling down around her and cheeks so pink she could feel the heat, "He's all yours Emmett. I just had to go first."

With a shrug, Hazel picked at the hem of her sundress and tried to act as if she hadn't just shown a part of herself few had seen before.

As most of us know Emmett spun on @Julian Pritchard.

To say that the sound of the bottle spinning on the floor of the classroom made Julian’s heart speed up would be the understatement of the century. And not just because the sound it made was grating in itself, but because now that he’d joined the circle, he was acutely aware that it was entirely possible it would stop on him. And he was not ready. He needed to watch, maybe another ten or twenty kisses, just to be sure that he knew what to do.

So of course - of course - the bottle immediately stopped on him. After having been spun by Emmett.

He was not going to kiss Hazel. He was going to kiss Emmett Blaze. Agreeing to play had been the worst idea of his life.

He didn’t move immediately, frozen in a moment of panic and unwittingly giving Hazel the opportunity she needed.

He stared at her finger uncomprehendingly. Was she going to stop the game so he wouldn’t have to kiss -- Oh.

Oh.

Much like he had all of those months ago, Julian initially froze when he realised what was going on - his heart hammering in his chest - until he remembered what had happened in that closet and he forced himself to relax, raising his hand to touch Hazel’s hair in a deliberate imitation of Isobel in her kiss with Arwa. She’d seemed confident. He could be too. Or pretend, anyway.

When she finally let him go, his face was on fire and the entire world felt unreal. It took him a moment to recover and remember what it was he'd been about to do.

“It doesn’t have to be quite like that with Emmett, right?” he whispered, wide-eyed, to Hazel before scooting over to the center of the circle, and his roommate. He grimaced a little. He made no move to back away, though. He’d agreed to play the game. And the rules were the rules. He took a deep breath, and steeled himself.

“I’m sorry about that time I punched you,” he muttered. Because it felt wrong to kiss the guy without ever having apologised. And without further ado, he leaned in for a brief peck on the lips. “Is that okay? Or should we -- do more?”

Please say no please say no please no.

She and Julian still weren’t on good terms (on account of him being a werewolf and Behati being unable to trust him anymore), but even he didn’t deserve that.

Emmett being attractive was common knowledge, finding out they actually got along during their time in the library had been unexpected and truly an interesting choice to stay and talk to him that she would never regret as long as she lived. But had he always been that attractive, coming at her with cheeky words and sly undertones? When they broke away and Aurora went back to her spot, the redhead pretended to fan herself after quite an experience with him.

"You ever want a repeat, you know where to find me, sweetheart." She sent a sly wink in his direction awaiting the next victim of the game, but nothing had prepared her for the bottle landing on Julian of all people. But there was nothing better than watching Hazel take the initiative and going for it with Julian before he had his kiss of the moment with Emmett of all people.

"That's my girl." Aurora stretched towards her friend for a high five at her great move.

The redhead shamelessly wolf-whistled when Julian pecked Emmett on the lips.

And sent her meanest look at Behati's unnecessary rudeness.

Emmett Blaze

His kiss with Aurora infused him with a new energy. He couldn't wait to see who he was kissing next, and hoped it'd be someone else that'd make Isobel glare at him, make her feel a slither of the jealousy he felt.

But then it landed on Julian.

Immediately, Emmett's gaze shifted toward Hazel. A silent question. As much as he valued honoring the rules of the game, he wasn't going to kiss Julian if it bothered her.

Hazel had hoisted herself onto her knees, though. Emmett remained still despite feeling startled, watching her rather than Julian. Then.. he grinned a little (privately) as she proceeded to launch forward, stealing a kiss from her boyfriend before he could. Good. Emmett figured he was off the hook. Hazel would be too distracted in her smiles.

He didn't want to kiss Julian.

He wasn't off the hook, though, he quickly realized. He was on it as much as a fish meant for dinner.

Emmett exhaled a disappointed sigh. When he originally found out his roommate (who he already wasn't on the best terms with) was a werewolf— his roommate was one of the beasts that'd attacked him and all of them—he had a hard time not feeling fear. As time passed, however, he'd realized that Julian was.. the same Julian. Not his friend, but not-not his friend, the same nerd with the creepy spiders. Julian hadn't wanted to get bitten. He didn't like turning into a werewolf. It could've been him, it could've been Isobel....

Isobel's kindness also attributed to his semi-understanding. The understanding hadn't come immediately to him as he originally spent many nights fretting that Julian and others may not take their wolfsbane, but time calmed him. Knowing Julian better calmed him.

"I'd hope not," Emmett chipped in, overhearing Julian's comment to Hazel. "I think we've established before that we're both straight." Meaning, Emmett couldn't even tease a kiss. Julian may be the worst person he could've spun on in terms of making Isobel jealous, but alas.

Julian grimaced at him. Emmett grimaced back. They were going to kiss, which would be painful.

"You gonna apologize now, mate?" Emmett rose a brow. "How.. romantic. I'm sorry for your furry problem," he said loudly, and then lowered his voice to add, "—it's alright. Back then I deserved it." He didn't want anyone else to hear him being remotely soft.

Emmett met Julian's peck, an equally uncomfortable look on his face, and the awkwardness tight in his chest.

"Oh, please no," Emmett replied, chortling. "That was so much more than enough. So much more," he repeated, as he drew back, his expression still twisted in discomfort. He couldn't look at Simon. He couldn't believe he'd kissed Julian.

Although, despite the complete lack of romance, deep down, he'd felt something warm. Julian had apologized. Slowly, they were.. growing.

And with that awkward encounter that can only be described as a big flop compared to the Halien kiss to end all kisses, Hazel had to hide her smile in the palm of her hand until Ju had made his way back to his spot in the circle.

Hazel squeezed Julian's hand in a form of encouragement before Julian grabbed hold of the bottle and gave it a spin. Nothing could silence a room of frustrated fourteen and fifteen-year-olds like the sound of a glass bottle turning on the floor. His turn wasn't very forceful and it soon came to a slow, churning stop.

@Julian Pritchard and @Dorjee Shire Sherpa. So many boys. And they're all kissing each other.

The crack about his apology being romantic did not take Julian by surprise. The mention of his furry problem, however, did. He squinted at Emmett for a moment, trying to figure out how the other boy had meant it, only relaxing when Emmett dropped his voice to accept Julian’s apology.

Their kiss was brief, and no one seemed to think that more kissing was warranted (he had no idea what to do with Behati's comment about disinfectant). Julian sagged in relief, almost tripping over the bottle in his haste to slink away. Which of course reminded him that it was his turn to spin. He sighed.

The spinning seemed to take forever, until it finally slowed to a stop. In front of Dorjee. Julian cocked his head. At least it wasn’t Emmett again. Or Simon. He had a feeling that would be a very awkward kiss. Or Arwa. That would also be so, so, so strange. Not that kissing Dorjee wasn’t weird. Kissing was just weird. He had no desire to ever do so again - except with Hazel. That had been kind of nice.

He walked over to Dorjee, and smiled stiffly, leaning down to peck him quickly before either of them had time to think twice and run away.

Dorjee made an odd choking sound and, for a second, Julian was scared that he’d somehow done something to hurt him, even though all that he’d done was briefly press his lips against the Gryffindor’s.

“I’m sorry?” he muttered, and rubbed the back of his neck. awkwardly standing in his spot before he realised with a start that he could go back to sitting next to Hazel. Which he did. Immediately. His cheeks hurt from blushing so much, and he half hid behind his girlfriend.

Dorjee Shire Sherpa

No sooner had Dorjee thought it than vague possibility became reality. Julian spun the bottle weakly, probably still a bit phased from his quick kiss with Emmett, and as fate would have it the bottle chose Dorjee. The Gryffindor’s face flushed, then reddened again in rapid succession as the truth sank in that he, Dorjee Shire Sherpa, would indeed be kissing a boy that night. And not just any boy, either. No, this was Julian, the one boy in all of Hogwarts so capable of accidentally stealing Hazel’s heart with facts and general obliviousness that Dorjee had actually become convinced Julian was somehow a superior being to them all. After all, it was Hazel, gorgeous, kind Hazel, and not just anybody would do for a girl like her. She could afford to be as picky as she wanted.

And now Dorjee was expected to kiss him.

The world seemed to freeze around the Sherpa boy, everything coming to a dead halt while he struggled to process this. For one thing, at least it wasn’t Emmett. The Ravenclaw still terrified Dorjee and kissing him would have surely sent the supposedly brave boy straight out the window in a chorus of nope. On the other hand, Julian was a werewolf. Most days of the month, Dorjee knew he could trust him, but something in the back of his mind always nagged at him as the full moon drew closer. What if a batch had been faulty? What if he’d coughed some up and lost a dose that way? While Dorjee knew Julian, of all people, would be smart enough to know that he should go back and ask for another dose, the fact remained that nothing on this earth was 100% guaranteed accept their own inevitable deaths.

What if, what if, what if?

There also remained the fact that while every second he spent with Alyssa was a happy one, some part of Dorjee would probably always wonder what it was like to kiss Hazel. It was an unfortunate part of his human existence that he could so easily get caught up in daydreams about the flower-loving Hufflepuff whose tender touch could make any plant grow beyond belief. While he was certain he’d never be good enough, he also once again couldn’t drop the thought from his mind. He was incredibly lucky to have Alyssa and had spent months trying to get over their first, and only, kiss so he could kiss her again without the blood and drama of November. He knew this, as she outclassed him by a lot and he thought she was easily one of the prettiest and nicest girls at Hogwarts.

So why couldn’t he just move past Hazel like he thought he had?

All of that raced through his head as Julian crossed the room, awkwardly approaching Dorjee and catching the Gryffindor by surprise with a quick peck on the lips. An odd choking noise marking his surprise escaped from Dorjee’s throat as he shot upright suddenly and looked at Julian. “I- Uhh... No. I’m sorry. You just surprised me.”

He tried to crack a grin, tried to look at both Hazel and Alyssa, but in his mind some invisible, unspoken line had been crossed and there was no going back. On top of that, it was now his turn to spin the bottle and while he’d like to be able to kiss Alyssa - properly - some part of him was looking at Hazel.

What if?

Behati Gadot

Was the whole point of this Spin the Bottle game to turn everyone gay?

Behati noisily turned another page in her book to express her discomfort with it all.

Arwa Hashmi-Andrada

Her eyes landed on @Simon Reed as Aurora moved away to spin the bottle. He looked about as distraught as Emmett had during the first kiss, and she grinned at the boy. They had been friends for years, but recently, they hadn’t been talking as much and Arwa realised she missed him. Besides, they might not have been talking, but they would definitely be talking about this. She’d been under the impression that Simon was happily married and over their Slytherin friend.

Clearly, there was still something there.

Speaking of Emmett—

It was interesting to watch him move forward to kiss Aurora, almost as if he wanted to take revenge for Isobel’s kiss with Arwa. That was fine: she was taking note of everything her classmates were doing, writing it up in her mind for later use. This would definitely be something she and @Isobel Blake needed to talk about. Arwa would drag it out of her roommate if she had to.

For some reason, she hadn’t anticipated the bottle falling on @Julian Pritchard, and it was...uncomfortable. Arwa suddenly realised that the bottle very well could match up the two of them, and that felt like all kinds of wrong. Julian was practically her brother, and there were just some things you didn’t do and lines you didn’t cross, She resolved to take care of that possible spin with a simple hug or a high five shared between the two of them.

Agenda: turning Hogwarts gay, one spin the bottle game at a time.
