Jeramie Slater

Jeramie watched the grown-ups argue back and forth, which was absolutely never a good sign. The increasingly-loud murmurs from the other kids was not a good sign either. But the worst sign of all came when a man he recognized from the news came in, and the sinking feeling in Jer's stomach grew deeper and deeper.

Then the confirmation came. A threat made against Hogwarts. Jeramie would never forget what night it was, and there was only one thing that threat could be.

"Angel!" he turned swiftly towards his twin sister. He had to stay with her. He had to protect her. But how? How could he ever protect her when the thing he was protecting her from was HIM?

There was no choice, he had to go, and feeling ripped away, he held a hand on her shoulder. "Angel...hide! Don't let them get you. I...I have to go. Please...be careful!" he begged. This was exactly where it had taken place the last time. Right here in this very room. How many students had been bitten right in this very spot?

The aurors were here first this time. Maybe they could help. But not with twelve wolves standing there waiting for the full moon to rise. Jeramie didn't care about wolfsbane. He didn't trust it. They had to get out of there and fast. Jeramie felt the panic again, looked around the hall as things began to grow more and more chaotic. And next to him were the angry voices of Julian Banagher. Of Jack Frost. Of Jaxon Sinclair. He exhaled as he felt an arm around his shoulders, but Kay's words did not encourage him.

His mentor Julian arrived next, asking if he was alright.

"No!" he said, looking up at him, his eyes wide and his mind racing. "Why aren't they leaving? This is not---" he trailed off and looked up at the two of them - Julian and Kay. "They won't listen. We all have to get out of here. Right now!" He stared back at his sister. He wasn't going to let any of them endanger her life. She wasn't going to end up like him.

"Ugh, this is disgusting!" Ryan cried out, brushing the vomit off of himself. "Yes @Behati Gadot you're completely right! They're resisting the auror because they want to attack us!"

Maggie Sinclair

When the warning went up, Maggie stared at Richard Fowler like the man had pulled away his official looking tactical gear to reveal Britney Spears’s red bodysuit for her ‘Oops I Did It Again’ era, because if he was here, that meant something bad was close on his heels. Once the man had finished talking, pandemonium suddenly reigned, and it was a chore to even stand up without tipping over.

When she’d finally managed it, she noted, but swiftly ignored the sudden rush of adrenaline making her legs shake, because she needed to find Jack and an exit. She spotted @Ryszard Althaus-Valerio before the white blonde of her brothers head, and nearly tripped over the bench seat in her haste to get to him, Nox close enough on her heels. She hadn’t even spared him a glance…

“Jack!” she breathed, shoving Ryz out of the way to set her hands to her brothers shoulders. “You need to leave, now.” She tried to haul him up and failed spectacularly due to him being a goddamn giant, and Ryan flacking bigotface 😛 screaming they were all being attacked. She was going to knee-cap that ratbastard so hard.

“Uncle Ju’s not here.” She breathed, eyes darting around the hall. “So I dunno what’s happening…but save it.”  she eyed @Adrina Althaus-Valerio "And get gone!"

Prince A. Charming

As Atticus stood with the group of werewolf students who were waiting for the others to comply, he found himself in ropes. "What the?" he said, falling over onto @Harmony Granger-Weasley as he tried to stay upright. "Can someone help me?" he said, looking towards @Professor Foster since she was closest. He wouldn't be able to walk to the Hospital Wing like that. "Who would do that? I'm following directions!" he said. He was trying not to get upset but the poor werewolf students had been berated and hated on for months and it was wearing him down.

He was over it and he wanted it to end. They hadn't asked for this. They hadn't done anything to deserve it. They had simply been unlucky. How would the rude students feel if it had happened to them? Why couldn't anyone have some empathy?

Continued here.

Behati Gadot

“Where’s Alex Sanders when you need him?” She responded to @Ryan Buratsche. All the dramaticism of the first years and other werewolf allies was making her roll her eyes. They absolutely were wolves, and monstrous ones at that.

Calliope Thorpe

During sorting night, when Callie had been panicking about not belonging at Hogwarts, @Avalon Edens had eased her anxiety. Now, her best friend's panic reflected her own, only causing her to spiral. Callie rose, and stormed forward toward the first person who angered her, appalled.

"Are you an idiot?" Callie drawled at the loud voice of @Katherine Braelin-VonHaus. "They are wolves, stupid." Callie loved calling people stupid. It made her feel so good, so she had to. She would also trust anything Richard Fowler said, blindly, plus the DADA teacher was agreeing. She hated the wolves who wouldn't leave, with a passion.

She didn't want to imagine.. that they could become.. but she knew..

If anyone died, it was their fault for making the conscious choice to stay.

Willa Henry

Willa wasn't soothed by the appearance of an auror. It made the threat more real, her adrenaline spiking as she glanced around at the faces of students arguing and fighting about whether the students had to leave. She immediately latched onto @Prince A. Charming and suddenly she felt like she couldn't breathe.

She had never considered him to be one of them, even if he had more scars to show for it (that she could see). Nervously she adjusted her grip on her wand, a small part of her mind wondering what a first year could do in a situation that required aurors, but she kept her wand at the ready anyways. She wasn't going to be caught off guard again, and she wasn't going to let that happen to herself or @Jacquetta Rosewood again.

And then she saw Atticus fall.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE! HE'S NOT TRYING TO DO ANYTHING WRONG!" She shouted, standing up abruptly without letting go of Etta's hand. If it weren't for the professors and the aurors closer to him, she would have tried to help free him. She hadn't seen who cast it at him, but there were enough werewolf haters in the school and she glared in all their general directions.

"It's literally the flacking full moon," Jo wanted to smack her head against a table, it'd be less painful than dealing with this idiocy. Jo was searching for Winston and had overheard @Behati Gadot's comment. While she didn't agree with the girls comments most of the time (or ever) she wasn't going to be put in danger because of the negligence of others. She rolled her eyes. "Everyone is always so bloody dramatic."

And here it came, the soapboxes held up strong whenever werewolves were brought up.

Maybe Jack didn't have a choice.

Maybe the only way to get Ryszard to come to his senses was to leave with the Aurors and Professor Foster and whoever was going to play chaperone for twelve werewolves. Twelve bloody werewolves and they were sending three? Four? Staff members at most? It was like they wanted something tragic to happen.

"Please don't make me choose," Jack pleaded softly in return. "Please don't make me do something I don't want to do."

The last thing she wanted was to hurt him but if that was what it took to get him to let her go, then she would do it. She'd regret every second of it but she would do it.

"I know what they can do," she argued calmly, accepting the possibility as fate, and she brushed a strand of hair out of his eyes. "It's okay. It'll be okay. Tomorrow morning this ordeal will be over and we'll meet here at noon and we can have cupcakes and talk about how much of a snack a certain Slytherin is." Jack softly laughed, letting one hand fall to her side while she used the other to pull him into a hug.

Gulping, when she pulled back from the hug she sent a Lightning Hex in his direction to immobilize him for the few seconds needed to run off. "I'm sorry, Ryszard. I'm so sorry," she whispered rushing off to meet @Jaxon Sinclair. "I will be the first to say flack the Aurors but the A-V twins will follow us if we don't get out of here. If anything goes wrong..."

Winston Hughes

Winston couldn’t believe what he was witnessing. How could these students be that selfish? He understood not wanting to be treated differently. He could understand how bad the werewolves had it because of society and their bigotry. But this… this was idiotic. The unassuming boy was losing his patience and his cool unassuming demeanor. He was not going to let his life, his friends lives, or even the werewolves' lives (because what would happen to them if they harmed someone because they were too bloody stubborn to leave) be put in danger.

“Are you all bloody flacking serious? How is this any different than any other full moon? Go back to the Hospital Wing and transform there!” The bespectacled boy had never loss his cool or screamed in public before. “Don’t be so bloody selfish! You’re putting all of our lives at risk because you don’t want to leave the Great Hall? Be like Kay and those other two kids! Protect yourselves and protect us, your classmates!”

By the end of his speech, Winston was standing up and screaming, his voice hoarse.

"They're all dramatic idiots!" Winston had moved over to @Josephine Tindall and complained loudly, his wand held in a death grip.

Adrina Althaus-Valerio

And then, like a dam broke, Jack found his voice.  Her own words and the announcement of professor Foster knocking something loose and she stared back at him with wide eyes as he moved away from her.

Away from her.

It might not have been his intention but it felt to her as though she had struck him with that sparkler spell he’d insisted she’d learn.  Like she’d burned him and he’d needed to get away and not at all like he was telling her that it was her who needed to find a way away from him.

“Jack!” She called out, not really aware that there had been other protests because he’d been who had mattered to her when the chips fell.  At least with this hand. The kicker however was his sister, @Maggie Sinclair , tossing her a look as she stepped in between them and then shoving him off in the other direction.

Behati Gadot

Bee slow clapped to @Winston Hughes‘ rant. She was glad everybody else was finally seeing how selfish the werewolf lot was, always trying to make everything about themselves and not caring about the rest of the student populace.

But what about my scars? Every month I turn into an unstoppable killing machine. Won’t somebody please feel sorry for me and make everything about me!

It was enough to make Bee want to tear her own hair out. Thankfully, @Jacqueline Frost seemed to be leaving. It took everything in Behati to not whoop right then and there in the Great Hall.

Jo rolled her eyes so hard her vision blurred. "Honestly," she drawled, pinching the bridge of her nose. She moved to Winston's side. The last thing she wanted to do was get separated from him if there was an attack. Where had Brooklyn disappeared to as well? Jo pushed herself up on her toes and looked around.

"What do they think?" Jo questioned, loudly. "That the Aurors are going to kill them because they killed one of the wolves that was literally attacking the students at this school? Like just leave and save us your angst for another bloody day." No offense (but full offense) but you'd think these people would be smart enough to differentiate between the situations.

Professor Foster

Peggy silently tried to will her group to hold it together. They didn't seem to realize they were on the razor's edge. They were too volatile, and that volatility was the exact thing that makes law enforcement panic. When law enforcement panics, things get ugly.

There was a movement at her periphery and Peggy turned to see ropes thrown over one of her most terrified charges. Silently she dissolved the ropes and held out an arm in a motherly fashion for Atticus @Prince A. Charming to come to her. Tomorrow @Idina Iordanau was going to wish she'd never been born, but there was no time for it now. As more of the haters pushed forward Peggy whirled on them.

"GET BACK!" Peggy roared into the crowd.

"Wolves, please--There isn't time to list twelve names--- Please come with me," Peggy said urgently. "This will not end well for anyone if we stay."

Robin Corelli-Rose

Things took a downward turn and quickly, all starting with the lack of a Meatbar (ff course, it wasn't @Kay Wickham's fault - she needed the bars for herself a lot more than he did, but given his lack of an appetite for anything else, Robin knew he'd go hungry that evening), climbing with the sudden movement of the Professors upon Headmistress McGonagall's orders, and peaking with the appearance of the Auror.

Hogwarts was in danger again. They were in danger again. They were in the Great Hall.

Again.

Robin gulped a deep breath, eyes darting to the large, vulnerable windows, to the great doors, to his panicking schoolmates and finally at Kay. His eyes were big and wide and for a moment he felt like he couldn't quite get enough air into his lungs. There was no way this could happen again. No -

No, this time would be different, he thought, feeling a fearful lapse in his usually steadfast logic. This time, the wolves would be their.

"No." This he said out in a whisper, to himself more than anyone, and balled his hands into fists. This was another bit of torture to paint the wolves the villains. His friend, however, was already moving, already had a hand in his hair and Robin thought - too late - that maybe he ought to grab it for... something. The noise in the Hall spiked and the mood soured. With every passing moment, the seconds ticked closer towards that critical hour. Suddenly, he had a deep desire to go after Kay, because he knew that she, at least, took her Wolfsbane like clockwork, and if anyone of the werewolves was safe, it was her. He didn't want to be stuck in the Great Hall with the others. Every desire to want to see the transformations went out the (thankfully, very much unbroken) window now that he was faced with the very real possibility of that happening.

But he didn't. He remained in his seat, trapped in his duty as friend and someone who was not bitten. He watched her walking away, shoulders back and thought, She's braver and smarter than all of them, because she knows

"Follow her example," Robin found himself saying, rather sternly, and pointed at her.

"Some times I think we are the only sane ones left in this bloody school." Winston nodded along with @Josephine Tindall, agreeing with her comments. lived his life by being in control. He knew people. He pulled their strings. He blended in to and took advantage of their perception of him. But this... he wasn't prepared for this and his anxiety was working at an all time high. He did not want to get hurt. He did not want any of his classmates to get hurt. "I'm glad that auror protected us."

Hazel Wheeler

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

It had started off as simple as it had the first time. Her knees knocked gently against @Julian Pritchard's every time she turned to look up at him or to tell him something about the Herbology notes she'd been scribbling through. They were holding hands - and she felt kind of awkward like she was holding him to her - and she could just pick out that he wasn't actually there with her. Hazel knew what tonight was and playing the naive innocent that she was didn't work anymore. Hazel knew what he was going to go through and she knew that she couldn't be there with him through it all. But she would be sent to Hades before she dared act like being him didn't make her happy.

Even as he pushed his food around on his plate or didn't engage in conversation, Hazel still sat firmly beside him. Not swaying or going anywhere. That's what had upset her when he hadn't told her about the first time.  She hadn't gone anywhere. She'd almost died for him. Hazel squeezed his hand and turned back to her notes as she slipped into silence. It was probably better to just leave him to his own thoughts.

But then, just like last time, their little bubble burst. She could feel the residue of how their night could have gone slowly sinking to the floor. Hazel squeezed his hand one more time before she let go - just trying to get a grasp on what she needed to do. How did she keep him by her side this time? But then there were aurors yelling instructions. And there he was, pulling away from her with a smile before she could even say anything about it.

"Ju," Hazel's voice broke but she powered through it, "I know you have to go but I don't want you to." But he was gone, circling the aurors and making his way into a much safer environment. She knew this even as she slid her hand along the table as if she could still hold his hand. The ghost of him still there with her.

She got up - spotting @Aurora Andrews and @Simon Reed - and immediately collapsing in the nearest pairs of arms she could hold onto. "Watching him leave doesn't get easier."

Pandora Midnight

There was nothing that these auror's could do to make Pandora trust them, but following them out of the hall seemed much better than staying there. She already had horrifying images burned into her mind, did she really need the horrified expressions of her classmates to add on to that? Her change wasn't something she wished anyone had to see. She already felt bad enough that she had made @Jaxon Sinclair watch over her.

It probably didn't help that there wasn't anyone around her who even wanted to stop her from leaving. The dull ache that Pandora had grown use to came back at full force as she stood and followed her Professor. She didn't bother to even try to catch anyone's eye as she left.

"I didn't plan on it Ro..." he replied softly, managing a small smile as he covered her hand with his own, holding it in place as he watched everything unfold around them. He sat quietly observing as everyone divided themselves around the Great Hall, Jack and Jeramie were both nearby... as were Julian and Hazel. Perhaps they should form a group again, though he didn't know how practical that would be on the night of the full moon.... he nearly jumped out of his skin when an auror appeared, amplifying his voice for all to hear, finally telling them what was going on. 'At least somebody here will tell us what's happening.' he thought to himself, feeling a little better about the fact that aurors were in the castle and they all seemed to have a plan.

Though not everybody was thrilled with the idea. Could they not see that this was the best way to ensure everyone's safety!?

"Some people truly have their head so far up their arse...." he muttered, referring to all of the people refusing to follow orders or making comments about the werewolves, their friends. He was sure Aurora would be able to follow his train of thought as they stood to somberly greet their Hufflepuff friend. She wasn't the only one saying goodbye, hell, Simon was slightly worried sick about the whereabouts of his boyfriend but if he thought to much about it he would probably make himself sick. "Don't think it ever will Hazy girl, just stick with us... at least this time we're kind of ready." Right?

Jo was reaching for a lovely crispy looking chicken leg when @Winston Hughes made a comment of such accuracy she nearly thumped him over the head with the delicious chicken. "Right!" She couldn't help but laugh at the insanity of this school. She bit into the chicken leg, mouth full of food she addressed her friend once more. "You'd think these fools would cooperate for the sake of protecting the people they care about but no~"

Ryszard Althaus-Valerio

Ryszard was not moving. He would put himself between Jack and the Aurors if he had to, but he was not moving. His heart was sinking, however, as he realised that Jack wasn’t budging, either. She was adamant on telling him to leave, and it was causing further panic to rise up in his throat. He felt himself throw up in his mouth, and as nasty as that was, he couldn’t bring himself to care. His heart was beating much too fast for him to notice anything else around him.

“You promise?” He asked, weakly, almost like he was eight years old, and scared out of his mind — and he was. Ryszard didn’t trust the Aurors that had arrived to take his friend away, and his breathing was coming away ragged as he tried to convince himself to let go.

He knew that if Jack didn’t come back the next day like she was saying, he would never forgive himself.

It was then that she pulled him in for a hug, and Ryszard felt himself holding tight to her, a tear making its way down his cheek that he tried to hide away. Letting go of Jack and not knowing if she would be coming back safe from the nefarious hands belonging to the Aurors was like leaving home for a second time: he felt afloat and lost at sea, like the entire ocean was desperately trying to churn him out.

He hadn’t expected the lightening hex.

Ryszard fell, then, the spell hitting him right in the chest. He hit the Great Hall floor, and instantly blacked out, coming to a few seconds — minutes? hours? He didn’t know — later, only to find that Jack was no longer there.

Avalon Edens

Avalon felt dim. Everyone was yelling at each other, some kid she recognized from the posters had been restrained by magical ropes, and all she could think about was the moment, months ago, the werewolf had sunk its claws into her chest, and she thought she was going to die. It was happening again.

She struggled to breathe.

The pressure on her arm vanished, and Avalon stared as @Calliope Thorpe stood up to go snarl something at some Hufflepuff girl. Panic overtook her. If they were going to be attacked again, she needed Callie by her side, she couldn't leave her –

Avalon, still, struggled to breathe.

Her eyes found @Jeramie Slater, who was one of the werewolves willingly standing by the auror. She was hit with a double-edged panic and pride – her friend wanted everyone to be safe, he cared what happened to them – but would that make him less safe, if there was some threat prowling the corridors? He could not be made a werewolf again, but what if there was something else, something worse?

She trembled, and wrapped her arms around herself, trying not to cry. She wanted to beg Callie to come back, but she could not find her voice, and so she sat in silence.

Francis Barnes II

Francis hadn’t been paying a great deal of attention to the ongoing proceedings. He was busy at work, you see, drawing up some INSPIRING new motivational posters for Kay to gaze at while she was locked up in wolf-form for the night. Nobody knew better than Francis how boring it could be to stay put in one place for hours on end, but he was sure Kay would make the most of her evening... by working out.

“Here!” Francis said excitedly, rolling up the pictures before handing them off to Kay like a baton. “Muscle wolves!” he explained, “to motivate you to keep working towards the perfect bod!” And if Kay were to unfurl the roll, she would indeed find an impressive line-up of body-building werewolves.
