I can't be the only one who's so disconnected

Pine Tree

Telling himself that he would stay away from the Great Hall. There was this feeling that something was going to happen.Something was always happening. Be it Ryan or Hatty saying something. Someone else calling him a monster as he walked by, just loud enough for Pine to hear. Pine didn’t want to go to the great hall, if he was able to skip a meal he would.

Hunger was scream at him from the inside and with no energy to find a “buddy” that would walk with him to the kitchen, he was going to have to deal with eating in the Great Hall today. Aster would have taken him, but Pine knew that she had a life outside of making sure Pine was alright and he wanted to brother her that much, asking for her help all the time. He didn’t want a buddy, he was already a werewolf, was there something worst that could happen to him? Maybe he could find Box, and sit with him at his house table, but as he looked over he didn’t see Box there, that plan went out of the window.

Which was fine, it was going to be fine. Looking around,  making sure his robe was pulled right and his bag with his school supplies and textbook was around his shoulder. He made his way over towards the Gryffindor table. There could be someone there, someone that he could sit next to and be able to eat. Being quiet was something he was getting great at, so talking while at meal time wasn’t something that he needed to happen. All he wanted to do was eat then hide out for the rest of the day.

As he was heading towards the table, he didn’t walk to far right towards the area of the end of the table, he noticed that someone else was sitting, someone that he didn’t know but happened to see his face on the wall along with his and the others that were outed that lovely night before they came back after the holidays.

“Mind if I sit here?” He asked, looking to see if he happened to see anyone that he knew. He didn’t, which was fine. He was sure Leon was dueling, that boy loved to spend time in the dueling chamber. He didn’t know where his brother ran off, and Aster was just nowhere to be seen.

Maybe he should have skipped this meal. If he didn’t see this boy here, he would have been a main target for the ones that hated him. With being a first year, and not that y’all, Pine didn’t know many spells to keep him protected.

Which lead to Pine to carry more pinecones in his bag. Which once showed a symbol of friendship. It now showed his anger at the world that was around him.

Prince A. Charming

Things had been crazy since he’d gotten back to school. First, he’d found out that some reporter had read the names of the bitten students (himself included) over the WWN (the wizarding radio, which he had not known about previously). And then posters with their faces had appeared all over school saying they should be expelled. Atticus didn’t know what he had done to make people hate him but boy did they hate him. He was still the same person he had been before but no one seemed to agree with him on that. All that had happened was that he’d been unlucky enough to get bitten (twice) by werewolves.

Why should he be punished for it?

It didn’t make any sense to him so he ignored the haters. If they wanted to be mean, that was their choice. Their stupidity was clearly showing. He didn’t have time for that so he didn’t engage. There wasn’t any point in engaging, anyway. They weren’t going to change their minds. Nothing he said or did would change the way they thought. So why waste his time?

He sat at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, far away from everyone else. Normally he sat with Harmony or Sam but they were both off somewhere. So he was left to eat alone, something that didn’t actually bother him. He had eaten a lot of meals on his own before he had been bitten. It didn’t feel all that different now. Sure, people stared at him and said things to him but he tuned it all out. The biggest thing he had to watch out for were people who wanted to physically hurt him.

The Gryffindor looked up and nodded at the boy who had spoken to him. “Pine, right?” he asked, thinking he was the kid who had been on another of the anti-werewolf posters. He pushed some of the food over towards the younger boy and said. “I’m Atticus. How are you holding up?” He didn’t know what this kid had been going through but he assumed it was at least close to what he had been enduring since returning to school.

Not wanting to speak to anyone, he thought that sitting away from people would be the right thing to do. But the person that he was sitting next to said his name, he didn't know the name but he knew the boys photo from the poster. Knowing that he had marks, he had seen the boy in the common room, but he wasn’t going to ask about them. Pine wouldn’t want someone asking about his bite mark and Pine wasn’t going to ask someone about their face.

Looking at him, as he sat down and looked at him again. “Yes.” He said as he took a bite of his food. He was attempting to eat, but it wasn’t something that was super simple to do these days. Knowing that people were staring.

How was he holding up. “I am attempting to make it through each of these days.” It wasn’t that simple, knowing that at any moment someone would say something and act like he was the worst thing in the world. People that didn’t know who he was at all, and he hated it. “I just wished that… that people would stop looking.”

Not knowing how many people that were looking, but there were two werewolves that were sitting next to one another. Which wasn’t something that shouldn’t be normal. They were two humans sitting next to one another, just because they were cursed didn’t make them less human.

Not in Pine’s mine, but he knew others didn’t think the same. “What about you?” Take a spoonful of apple sauce he was trying to eat it but his eyes kept wondering around.
