VH37 Presents: Spin the Bottle

Recommended Posts

Robin Corelli-Rose

Oh, there was more than one round to this? Robin blinked at the mouth of the bottle, for it was facing him again. He looked up the length of it at Pandora. Oh.

Good thing Robin was off to a slow and steady start. If physics dictated properly - which they did, because science - if he’d gone from 0 to 60 too quickly, you see, he’d have burned out too quickly.

And a slow burn was the best kind of burn, wasn’t it?

It gave off the most heat that way, for the longest period of time.

Notes, Cousin Francis? Robin had them all neatly stored and ordered.

Robin turned to Pandora. He’d never once imagined kissing her, but now that the moment was here, there was only one way to do it: right. Kay had been a little bit of luck and a whole lot of good teaching (all that time spent in the dojo must have covered all bases), and Magda (sorry Magda) was a trial run - a tester, if you will. Now was the final exam (he hoped).

In it to win it.

Robin realized he’d moved too soon - too soon to make it look like an accident - but she had met him halfway.

Her fingers in the ridges of his scars distracted him. Her mouth on his more so. Fingers on the cheek, palm on the chin - his mind flipped back to the Summer - he slipped his hand behind Pandora’s ear. Closed his eyes; it was less mash like potatoes and more, well, like doing what he knew - kneading dough for his best cupcakes. It was soft, and light, and there was a flutter.

Mwah!

Swell.

Xenia Lupu-Haidei

Pandora’s kiss with Robin was cute, but cute didn’t keep the lights on. So, as much as Xenia hated to do this (Pandora really did seem like a sweet girl, and Xe and Robin were on decent terms), especially right after the craziness that was the werewolf attacks, she still wrote:

Pandora Midnight captures Robin Corelli-Rose in a kiss reminiscent of something from a Disney movie. And, just like a Disney movie, he is the hideous beast and she the beautiful princess. Kay Wickham seems heartbroken by these developments.

"What is this?" This looked like an actual kiss with feelings and Jo didn't know how to properly comprehend that.

Can somebody please angry snog someone again? That was way more fun.

"Are woodland creatures going to gather at their feet soon?"

Jaxon Sinclair

"Ugh," Jack grumbled.

And then this happened.

Jo and Aiden had been way more entertaining, which was impressive.  Why, you may ask?

Jack would not disappoint anyone searching for the answer and so, in order to aid Xenia in her quest to be the world's next reporter on how many times Jennifer Aniston can pregnant in one year, he said exactly why it was impressive.  To her.  "Jo and Aiden were more entertaining than this paint drying snooze fest and that's saying something because he's part hag."

Winston had to agree with Jo, no, really---- she'd punch him otherwise. Ask Ry if you didn't believe him.

But he wasn't here for that soft stuff. Winston was a hot blooded hormonal teenage boy. A rebel with only one cause: snog girls.

He wanted to see, and experience, the action.

Cosette Mercier

Cosette was so confused, so she keep sitting next to @Jacqueline Frost and was stealing glances over towards @Jaxon Sinclair, he was looking really cute today. But knowing that people was kissing she didn't know if she fit in with everyone at this moment. She wanted to cover her eyes with her hair.

At @Jaxon Sinclair‘s revelation regarding Aiden, Xenia cackled. She would absolutely be writing that down.

Sources say Aiden Hunter is part-hag.

Aiden shot Jack Sinclair a look. Part hag huh? "Oh, that's funny Jack because I swear that you're the lankiest troll I've ever seen." He chuckled to himself after his comment.

Kay Wickham

Kay didn't know how to feel about Pandora kissing Robin, especially with no point to the game except actual kissing. It had been one thing when her best friend was kissing a classmate he barely knew, but it was another to watch him mouth-to-mouth with a girl he was really close to--like really really.

She could feel herself frowning, but wasn't sure why. There was nothing wrong with what they were doing, it was all harmless fun, and Panda was being really sweet and gentle with their friend, like he deserved. However, something was nagging at the back of her head, a gnawing feeling like a little green-eyed monster--

--and then she realized she knew that monster. Werewolf. Robin had told her that Pandora was a werewolf just like her, and now Kay felt a little sick with worry that maybe werewolves weren't supposed to play this game. Wasn't their saliva dangerous or something? Was it only on a full moon when they turned into furries or were they all the time infectious? Maybe they shouldn't be slobbering in people's mouths, though the only drool she'd seen so far had been Aiden when he was lip-locked with Jo, and Winston when he was watching.

The Gryffindor girl clenched her hands tight on her knees and watched the bottle. Maybe Pandora could be trusted not to turn somebody--she was good and soft and didn't punch people first--but Kay wasn't sure the same could be said for herself. If that bottle landed on her, would she have to forfeit the game?

She'd never forfeited anything EVER.

Kay gnawed on her lip and thought complicated thoughts. At least one of them was about how she wished this had been a bottle cult meeting, cuz she was pretty sure werewolves would be accepted in most weird cults.

Robin Corelli-Rose

Wait, Robin realized, sliding his eyes to where Kay sat.

Wasn't Kay technically his girlfriend?

What did this kiss make Pandora?

Kay Wickham looks like she’s just swallowed a dung beetle... or perhaps that’s indigestion. Either way, Robin Corelli-Rose just cheated on his girlfriend.

Pandora Midnight

Pandora's heart dropped when she saw Robin was once again looking at Kay. She didn't understand why she felt so disappointed but the feeling was there all the same.

Rían O' Donnell

Rían has been totally here the whole time after coming in with @Jaxon Sinclair right at the start of the game. However he had just sort of left his yearmates at it while he chose to sit up out of the circle on a desk, watching from above.

Watching in silence he judged everything that that was happening. Sometimes taking mental notes on kissing. Sometimes wondering what it would feel like. On the rare occasion he was glad it wasn’t him pushed into the mortifying situation. On more rare occasions he was almost jealous that it wasn't him and that he didn’t get to experience what a kiss was like.

Watching from above the circle, he was graves faced. Keeping his cards close to him, especially when he felt an uncomfortable niggle in his chest any time someone got to kiss @Pandora Midnight. Not that he really knew why but he didn’t like it.

Eventually his Ravenclaw curiosity got the better of him and he pushed himself off the desk and shoved his way into the circle positioning himself next to Jack. He didn’t say anything. He just hoped his friend would send some non verbal moral support his way.

Davis Turlough

Head in the playbook he was working on, Davis paused mid-step as he heard voices coming from a classroom.  He could have sworn that classroom wasn't used.  In fact, he had hit out there many times trying to make some semblance of mediocre grades magically appear from thin air.  Poking his nose in the doorway, he spotted many of his yearmates around the room with a distinctive bottle in the middle.  Eyes widening, he was about to nope out of there until he realized he'd been spotted.

Bugger.

No turning back now.

Heading into the room with what he hoped looked like the confidence of a Gryffindor quidditch captain, he took a seat next to one of his teammates.  Hopefully if the bottle pointed in their direction, it would be assumed it was at @Aiden Hunter and not him.  He really didn't fancy having his first kiss in front of all of his entire class.

Why, yes, that is a broom he's throwing his teammate under.

Ryszard Althaus-Valerio

Ryszard hated to admit it, but @Jaxon Sinclair was actually right about @Aiden Hunter. “He is part hag...I don’t know how it happened, but that’s the truth,” he said, mournfully. That was the first and last time he would ever agree with Jaxon on anything (hopefully no one was taking notes on this).

Somehow, the bottle made a full circle and ended up right back at Robin. This was definitely someone he could trust around Pandora, so he didn’t completely balk at the idea of them kissing. However, it was too sweet for this game, and Ryszard had to give it a downvote.

He grabbed the bottle from Robin, and ignoring his impulse to throw it at Jaxon, he simply rolled it across the floor and waited for it to bump against someone.

-

The bottle comes to a stop in front of @Rían O' Donnell, who spins it again, and it lands on @Jaxon Sinclair.

"I'm sure your mum is lovely, Aiden."  Granted, Francis didn't know much about hags, so you couldn't really trust his judgement.

Adrina Althaus-Valerio

The worst part about sitting in this circle, had to be the constant thought in her head that she was probably... most definitely... going to have to watch Jack kiss someone else, anyone else.   It had been bad enough just hearing about it.

And then her brother rolled the bottle across the circle and it landed in front of Rían and her worst nightmare about this all was about to become a reality.  Addy felt her stomach knot and she pressed her elbow hard into her folded knee as she sat cross legged on the floor.  At least this way it was easier to press her fingers to her forehead and utterly avoid looking anywhere near what was about to happen.

Jacqueline Frost

Jack supposed she should have given @Adrina Althaus-Valerio a sympathetic smile — first she heard about Sinclair and Malcolm now she had to witness the boy she liked kissing someone else.

Unfortunately, all she could think of telling Addy was sucks to suck and so she said nothing.

Where was the popcorn when you needed it?

"You see Ryszard stuff like that is why no one wants to willingly kiss you." He was joking but he had no idea if Ry would get it. He looked over at Francis deadpanned, "Thank Francis."

Rían O' Donnell

When the bottle rolled across the floor and bumped Rían's foot he frowned with repugnance. Did this mean it was his turn? As he looked up and around the circle most of the eyes there stared on him and that seemed to confirm it.

Ugh. He actually had to take part. Gross.

It wasn't really how he imagined his first kiss going, but he shrugged and reached his big hand out towards the bottle anyway. He just wasn't really prepared for where it would land. Right beside him, on @Jaxon Sinclair. Hmph. Frowning for a second he mulled it over. His Ma'shad only written to him that morning and her voice rang in his ears; try to think of positives. Out of all of the people sitting here Jack wouldn't have been top of the list. But then there was much worse people it could have landed on. Even as a first kiss he likely could have done much worse. And anyway, they were best friends. It wouldn't actually mean anything. Not really.

And Jack had kissed a couple of people by now. Rían decided that would probably make him not a bad kisser. He hoped anyway. He didn't know what sort of kisser he was. Likely terrible. But whatever.

Another positive was Jack was sitting right beside him. He didn't have to climb across the circle to anyone. That was probably good. Grumbling he stated "Whatever. We're best friends it won't actually mean anything." And then as casually as he could muster he turned and pecked Jack rather pathetically on the lips.

Then he went back to staring at the floor. He could feel all the eyes on him and actually acknowledging them would make this even more unbearable.

"This will be interesting," Jo grinned, her voice carrying across the circle of third years as she looked straight at @Adrina Althaus-Valerio. "Forecast is heartbreak with ninety percent chance of tears."

She'd feel bad for the Hufflepuff girl (soft girls needed to be protected) but the entertainment was more important.

Magda Trickett

Magda was a fairly observant person, and she’d noticed a lot of sorrowful, yearning looks being passed around during this game, for example: Robin looking longingly at Kay (while he’d been kissing Magda), Kay looking longingly at Robin, Pandora looking longingly at Robin, Rían looking longingly at Pandora, Adrina looking longingly at Jaxon.

What a dramatic, convoluted web of teenage hormones.

Two people who hadn’t been staring longingly at each other, however, were Rían and Jaxon, as evidenced by their super tame kiss. “Aw, lameeee,” Magda complained. "That was a kiss?"
