VH37 Presents: Spin the Bottle

Recommended Posts

Ryszard Althaus-Valerio

Third year was turning out to be way more difficult than Ryszard had anticipated: some of them were werewolves, some of them were getting punched in the face, while others were tentatively trying to date in a world that had suddenly been turned upside down.

As expected, Ryszard was here to make it even worse.

”Spin the bottle, then,” he said, sitting cross-legged on the floor and nodding at the rest of his classmates. “Who wants to play?” He asked, indicating the bottle he’d just set down (no one ask where he’d found it).

-

Hello! Welcome to VH37’s spin the bottle! As always...we are innovative...sometimes.

- Matches will be made through a randomiser, but feel free to message me for a specific match you want, and we’ll figure it out.

- There’s absolutely no time limit on this. I’ll keep adding people to the randomiser as new people post, but please only post if you’re going to take part; it makes everything a lot easier.

- Your character can leave at any point, but please make sure to indicate at the bottom that you’re leaving.

- First posts are “introductory” aka reacting to Ryszard’s suggestion to play the game, and I’ll post at some point with the first pair. Then, next spin will be by the person matched and so on.

Josephine Tindall

"Well this is cute," Jo grinned, sarcasm dripping from each word as she sat down. Her hand reached for @Winston Hughes's arm and she yanked him down with her. They would suffer together. Plus the bespectacled boy really needed to get out of his comfort zone.

She'd had her first kiss over the summer. Never the emotional or sentimental type, Jo wasn't one to care about big milestones like a first kiss, or whatever. The only downside was that it was a horrible kiss that had been shared with an even worse person. An all together terrible experience that now left her bonded to her brothers best friend for eternity.

Dean Connelly was the worst.

Not as bad as Ryszard though.

"Is this your desperate way to feel some sort of physical connection to another?" Jo asked @Ryszard Althaus-Valerio. This was his idea after all.

Robin Corelli-Rose

Robin opened the door, thinking the peace and quiet of the little-used room was the perfect place for a conversation with Good Cop Dad via mirror.

Only... it wasn't little-used - not then. In fact, the room greeted him with Ryszard's voice expectantly asking, "Who wants to play?"

Oh, thought Robin, snapping the mirror shut with a resounding snap. This wasn't a scene for conversations with Dad. Oh no.

OH YES! came the answer from an unknown source and Robin found himself decidedly past the threshold.

"Um," said Robin, wide-eyed and holding on that compact mirror like a man about to zipline into the Unknown.

Jaxon Sinclair

If Jack had realized that what he was walking in on was a game of the spin the bottle, he never would have entered the room.  He would have turnaed tail (ha) and gone in the opposite direction because, really, kissing was about the last thing he wanted to do these days.  Right down there under 'get bitten by a werewolf.'

Oh.  Right.

One glance at Ryszard and the third year was rolling his eyes.  At least the appearance of Jo Tindall meant that someone would knock his teeth out when he (inevitably) acted like the arsehole Jack knew him to be.

"I really should...probably go..." he started, but it was likely too late for any of that.

It didn't matter how Jack ended up in this situation point was that it was probably too late to back out. A game of spin the bottle was not on her agenda for the day or the next three-hundred years. This was probably a bad decision but then again, hadn't all her latest actions been a series of bad decisions?

"So..." she approached @Jaxon Sinclair and whispered, "This is going to end in disaster isn't it?"

Hurt and jealousy were powerful emotions on their own... and for someone like Addy, who already felt everything to the extreme they were a dangerous combination.   When she'd heard her brother mention something about this game idea he had she hadn't really put to much mind to it... there was really only one person she wanted to kiss.

But, that particular person had made it quite clear how he felt about that at the moment.

But then again...

Xenia Lupu-Haidei

Let the records show that Xenia was only showing up to this spin the bottle game to collect hot gossip. Whatever was done or said during this game would be written down in her little black book and would be spread all over school before the last pumpkin juice was gulped down by breakfast time the next morning. Also, Ryszard was her friend, so she supposed that she had an obligation to participate in any of his shenanigans if only because she wanted to see how they’d turn out.

True to her nature, she brought her cats (sorry to anyone who had a cat allergy ?) because she needed a distraction from all the teenage hormones that were thick in the air of the ever-filling unused classroom. All three of them ran around the classroom as Xe took a seat near @Ryszard Althaus-Valerio. “Well, this is cozy,” she said, clicking her pen.

Let the games begin.

Winston Hughes

“Traitor.” Winston grunted, his large glasses sliding down his nose as he scowled, and shoulder checked @Josephine Tindall. The girl should know— no, knowing Jo, she definitely knew the gangly Slytherin was not comfortable playing this game.

That’s why she was making him do it.

Worst, they were playing with his hated roommate Ryszard. Glancing at the other people, Winston noticed none of them were his friends. He didn’t know if he’d prefer kissing these strangers or his best friends at Hogwarts Magda, Bitsy, or Brooklyn but at least they’d be an option.

The savvy and socially conscious teen knew backing out would be social suicide though. His heart beat heavy in his chest at the thought of kissing any of these girls, fear fighting excitement for dominance, and he finally said “Let’s do this already."

Pandora Midnight

Trying to escape from the Professor's once again as Pandora walked through the halls without a buddy, she came across her classmates all sitting around in a circle. She didn't quite know what was going on but both Addy and Jack were there so she thought she could at least stay for a little bit. She took a seat and looked around at everyone. It was actually quite an interesting assortment of people. Panda couldn't wait to find out why they were all here.

Aiden Hunter

Aiden had to wonder what Ryszard’s angle was with spin the bottle. It wasn’t like him to set something up so that everyone could have fun. He had to be getting something out of it.

Maybe he was just desperate for some physical intimacy since he had driven pretty much everyone in their year towards hating him. AIden wasn't even sure that Ryszard had enough friends to play spin the bottle with.

He really didn't feel like playing, but he promised Ryszard he would. "Alright, let's get this over with."

Malcolm Mercer III

Malcolm certainly had better things to do than play spin the bottle but here he was, plopping himself down and preparing himself to lock lips with more people than he anticipated on any given day. Oh, and look. His scorned best friend was here, and Jaxon - whatever he and Jaxon were considering themselves lately - was here too. Nice.

Unaware of the mess he had inadvertently brought on, Malcolm slapped his palms down onto his knees and leaned forward. “Alright. Let’s go.”

Magda Trickett

“The hell is this, some kind of cult?”

Magda’s classmates were sitting in a circle on the floor of an empty classroom. They weren’t chanting ominous nonsense or wearing hooded robes, but the whole setup still had a vaguely creepy vibe. Little did she know, they weren’t planning on ritual sacrifice but an arguably more torturous teenage rite of passage.

After peeking around the corner of the doorway briefly (not quite long enough to notice her friends sitting among the cult members), Magda pulled back and saw another familiar classmate loitering suspiciously in the corridor. She seized @Kay Wickham's arm and then shoved taller the girl ahead of her into the room, human-shield style.

It was always good to have a human shield, just in case this was a cult.

Kay Wickham

Kay wanted to know how to play this game so that she could win. It had been way too long since that legendary game of dodgeball, when she'd single-handedly pulled off a tie by being the last girl standing on her side. The feeling she'd had that day? ADDICTIVE.

She needed another dose of that mundane school game champion life.

... Except she had no idea what this game was supposed to be. She lingered outside the door, trying to read the faces inside, but even Robin's was indecipherable. There was a bottle on the ground--just a bottle. One bottle, and so many players. Were they supposed to fight over the bottle? Fight with it? She needed to know the rules, and she needed to figure them out fast.

All of a sudden a smaller arm yanked her sideways and forced her through the door ahead of a somewhat-scrawny form that could only belong to Magda or any number of first years or a large house elf or a tiny professor--

--alright, a lot of options, but she was pretty sure it was Magda.

Kay tripped into the room, but gave the smaller girl a wide grin that she promptly shared with the entire room. "Hey, guys!" she greeted. "You playing a game? Is this like a team-based thing or a free-for-all?"

Brooklyn Shea

Brooklyn entered the room with Jo, pointedly not making eye-contact with anyone. The last thing she wanted was to miss out on a game of spin-the-bottle when her friends were playing, but her stomach twisted at the thought of snogging someone in front of so many people. What if she was bad? What if they thought she was bad (what if she was then known as the worst kisser in the year?), or what if someone landed on her and curled back in disgust? Her stomach burned at the thought—she wasn't certain her self-esteem could handle it.

Brooklyn preferred to remain distant, the girl people gazed at from afar who was associated with popular people. The last thing she wanted was anyone to know intimate details about her, let alone how her lips felt against theirs.

Ryszard Althaus-Valerio

To Ryszard’s pleasant surprise, more than a couple of his classmates took to settle themselves around the bottle to start the game. It was ominous: none of them liked Ryszard, and yet here they were, but it was serving his needs, so he chose not to comment on it. They were all hormonal teenagers, after all.

Grinning, and shooting a dirty look in Jo’s direction, Ryszard pushed the bottle towards Robin to start, seeing as he was the only one not being hostile ?

-

Ryszard hands the bottle to @Robin Corelli-Rose to spin and it lands on @Magda Trickett.

Wait, thought Robin, finding himself sitting in a circle. He didn't even remember getting there, just - boom! and, he was in it (@Kay Wickham would finish that, 'to win it', and so that was the logic Robin went with). Robin intended to 120% this game. He took the bottle and spun the heck out of it, doing a Thing With His First to give it that Edge.

It spun and and spun and spun, lightning fast.

And

landed

on

Magda.

Robin stopped and stared for a while (it was really, like, 3 seconds). Everyone was staring at him, too, with some shifty-eyes at @Magda Trickett. Well. Robin put one and one together, because he was a Ravenclaw and could do that. "Well, then," he said, and scootched right over, and pressed his mouth right to hers.

His eyes, however, went next door - to @Kay Wickham. Am I doing it right? he asked silently.

Out loud he murmured, "Sorry Magda."

Ezmeralda de la Renta

Ezme was certain she was the best kisser in the entire third year. She'd come upon this knowledge because she'd just decided she was! And that was all it took: confidence, confidence, confidence. Who cared if she'd never kissed anyone before? She'd watched enough romance movies to know what was good and what was a one-way-ticket to first kiss disaster.

Such was why she was so excited for the little game. She had to show off her amazing skills. ?

After the first spin, she gasped (loudly and theatrically, of course). "Oh my god." This was entertaining. Bloody hell. They should do this everyday!

Magda Trickett

Oh, okay, so it was a kissing cult.

Magda did actually know what spin the bottle was, having grown up in London rather than a hole in the ground, but it had always seemed like one of those strange, sort of frivolous things other kids did, like having sleepovers and pool parties. She'd never actually pictured herself sitting in a circle with a bottle at the center spinning, spinning, spinning… Stopped.

And it was pointed…at her?

Magda let out an extremely attractive snort of laughter when she saw where the bottle had landed. She was just glad this wouldn’t be her first time kissing a boy. She’d kissed a goblin boy waiting for his dad outside of Gringotts once when she was seven, and then a few years later she’d been kissed by a wizard boy who’d been dared by his friends to kiss the weird-looking girl lurking outside the pet shop.

So basically, she was an expert.

@Robin Corelli-Rose on the other hand, seemed like less of an expert. Magda waved her hand in front of his glassy-eyed stare and snapped her fingers a couple times. “Hey! Hey, what’s wrong with you? We’re supposed to kiss.”

He finally unfroze and pressed his mouth on hers, lips a little more duck-face puckered than the goblin boy's and less slippery than the wizard boy's had been. It was probably like a four out of ten. She pulled back, a little of the situational awkwardness finally catching up to her. “Uhh, maybe next time try to look at the person you’re kissing. Just a suggestion.”

Josephine Tindall

If there was one thing Jo loved in this world it was Magda Trickett and how damn blunt she could be.

When she offered Robin some very wise kissing advice, Jo slumped against Brooklyn, muffling her laughter with the Slytherin girls shoulder.

"Its okay Robin.  You tried." Francis remarked, giving Robin a pat on the shoulder.

Because you know, sitting beside him seemed like a sure fire way to avoid having to kiss his cousin.

Oh. OH NO. When she saw all of her classmates sitting together, kissing was the farthest thing from her mind. Her entire face went red as she watched Robin kiss a girl for the second time. She looked away quickly, feeling this weird pain in her chest. Did she need to go back to the hospital wing? It would certainly be a good excuse to get out of playing this...game. But she couldn't get herself to move from that spot.

By the mercy of some higher being, Magda entered the unused classroom to join their game. Now, at least, there were three girls who wouldn’t scream in disgust at kissing him as Magda joined the game with himself, Brooklyn and Jo. He still wasn’t sure if he wanted to kiss any of his friends… but they wouldn’t embarrass him in front of the whole group, right?

The first kiss was Magda and Robin.

He was glad it wasn’t him.

His worst fears came true though when Magda had advice for Robin. That had to be embarrassing. Already, the boy was going through every thing he ever read or watched regarding kissing.

"Everything about this is going to end in disaster," Jack responded flatly, wrinkling his nose at the question @Jacqueline Frost posed.  "I give it ten minutes before someone punches Ry."

But before that could happen, of course, people had to actually kiss.

And by people he meant Magda and Robin.  "O for effort, I guess..."  Probably want to check your pockets, though.

Xenia’s mouth formed a small ‘O’ when the bottle landed on Robin and Magda. The kiss looked awkward and Robin wasn’t even paying attention to Magda, but that didn’t stop her from writing down the kiss in her little black book:

Robin Corelli-Rose has heart eyes for Kay Wickham during a kiss with Magda Trickett

Nobody read gossip magazines for the truth.
