Maggie Sinclair

Screams were a usual occurrence in the great hall, so it made sense that she kept her seat and continued to pick at her muffin, mind firmly on the fitness of Professor Pichardo and not on the fact that people were starting to shout and flip over benches in their haste to either see or make their way to the exits.

It was a shove along her back and Jacks screams for her to run that got her attention, and the minute he did, her own stomach swooped, a sudden rush of fear and adrenaline making her hands shake as she gripped him back, wand and everything else forgotten because holy #####, there were wolves in the hall. Actually great hulking things that seemed to be far more into snacking on ickle tendies than, you know, not. She didn’t need to run, they did. Far and fast and NOW.

“Let’s go!” she shrieked, ducking a flying bag to try and pull him with her.

Aurora Andrews

The apprehension of entering the Great Hall when it had contained someone she wasn't quite sure how to deal with on a regular basis, had faded quite quickly once welcomed by both Julian and Hazel and then the surprise appearance of her best friend. It had felt like a good moment spending time with her friends without the unwelcomed drama that had happened. But just as quickly as those feelings had happened, everything changed drastically at the crashing of glass. The redhead's head swiveled so fast to the sound, and couldn't hold back the absolute show of terror on her face as she realized there were wolves in the Great Hall.

WEREWOLVES.

THEY WERE ALL GOING TO DIE.

DIE

Aurora instinctively reached out for Celeste's arm, pulling the blonde as close to her body as she could get. She also pulled out her wand that she kept hidden away in her boot, ready and willing to fight and protect all of her friends and anyone else that might need it.

"Oh my... Oh my... Juju's right. If we run they will just chase us."

At the mentions of the names, Aurora's heart started to beat faster and her head started to feel disoriented.

"Oh my ... WHERE IS @Simon Reed???"

Celeste Ferranti

Celeste had just wanted to hang out with her best friend and a few other classmates. She didn't expect things to go totally awry. Celeste jumped up when the window shattered, eyes wide as she took half a step back. Future movement was not an option, though, because Aurora had grabbed her. She took her cue from the redhead and pulled her wand out.

Not that anything was really coming to Celeste's mind right now. What would Irene do? She would tell Celeste to get out, get safe. "We need to get out of here. I'm sure he's fine!" she told her, hoping that @Aurora Andrews would follow her. It was unlikely, she knew how Aurora felt about the boy and Hazel was too nice to let her friends just stay when she was going to leave.

Celeste had picked the wrong group of people to get out of here alive, she was sure of it.

Aiden Hunter

A million thoughts flew through Aiden’s mind. It was almost like a dream. He had heard about Hogwarts being attacked over the year, but it seemed like stories that were almost made up. It hadn’t fully materialized in his mind that they were actually true.

Was Alvis okay? He felt his heart drop into his stomach, what about his sister? He had to find her. He turned his head and watched as some of his fellow students sent spells at the wolves. No, he couldn’t run and watch as the others got hurt or worse.

His wand trembled in his hands as he held it up. He was scared but he wasn’t a coward, he had to stay and help in whatever way he could. Maybe it wasn’t smart and maybe it would get him killed but he wouldn’t die running.

Pandora Midnight

Pandora lifted her head from the table to the chaos around her. Avery was gone. Her mouth felt dry as she stood shakily only vaguely knowing what was going on. Wolves had gotten in. Werewolves.

She began looking around trying to find a family face but whether it was because of the chaos or her own panic, she saw nothing but blurs of students going by her.

Wyatt Lazarus

Wyatt had about to respond to Seeley’s comment when the crash occurred.

The commotion. The shouting.

Wyatt covered his ears for a moment, trying to grasp his baring at what in the name of merlin was going on around him. “Seeley we-“ before she could finish his comment @SP had disappeared and he turned back to the windows. Where had they even come from? Dishing out his wand, Wyatt moved as quickly as possible to his feet.

“PROTECT THE YOUNGER YEARS!” He shouted out to those around him who were in sixth and seventh. He did not care if he was injured. He would not let any younger student get injured. Shouting out a sparkler spell, he wondered whether they would managed to get out of there alive.

Alayna Weasley

As panic reared its head and threatened to deem her useless, Alayna fought desperately to shove it to the side. She refused to be little more than a useless pawn now. Couldn’t be such again. Not again, and with so many she knew in the room with that… that beast. It was no secret that the girl feared werewolves more than any other creature. After what happened to her grandfather, how could she not? But even with the fear and the dread and everything else filling her up to the brim, she knew she had to do something now. She had to. There was no choice.

With Cinnamon sent off and away, the Gryffindor waved her wand again to shoot a stream of fireworks up and into the air. She wasn’t aiming for anyone, that wasn’t her purpose. Her purposes was to scare- to chase the beasts away or at least back them up enough and long enough for her to find everyone she cared for and get them somewhere safe.

Avery. Desmond. Fluke. Where were they?

Please… please… please don’t hurt them” Alayna muttered under her breath as she took off again. And then another firework was sent spiraling into the air.

"FLUKE!"

Molly Stone

"Yeah, sounds good," Molly grinned at @Felicia Fletwock, wondering why she was grinning so widely. It wasn't like studying was particularly fun. "I can't study too well among all this noise, though. Wanna head back to the tower?"

As she turned toward the door again, she saw it. An immediate recognition: werewolf. The sight was followed by a chorus of shrieks, and even Molly felt the panic well up inside her, despite remaining stony faced. She breathed out an incomprehensible line of swears, before turning toward Fe. "Get your broom, now. Holy hell. SWITCHING SPELLS, EVERYONE!"

Panic stabbed her gut, bloodying her with an overwhelming swirl of emotion. Not fear, but panic, for all the students who wouldn't be able to protect themselves. "We'll get help," she murmured. Molly prided herself in her ability to remain calm in the face of danger, her wits sharp and her mind vivid, vigilant. Her heart was pounding, but all she knew was that she had to help as many people reach safety as possible. They had to get out of the way until the moon dimmed and sun spilled through the sky, until the wolves were back to human and could realize the awful thing they'd done. A ripple of anger coursed through her. Why hadn't they taken their wolfsbane? Why were they on the Hogwart's grounds in the first place?

In the chaos, Molly flashed through everything she knew about werewolves. Running would be useless - she could not outrun a werewolf. She needed to get high up - to help other students get high up and seek recluse.

"Broomsticks!" Molly called again. She pointed her wand to her satchel and swapped it for a broomstick, then mounted, soaring over the heads of the masses and glittering against the Great Hall's enchanted sky. "Everyone who has a broomstick try a switching spell, or accio it, come on! Running is useless, we need to fly! Fe, Fe, come on!"

Once in the air, Molly pointed her wand at the wolves. "Relashio! Relashio!"

Molly swaps her bag for her broomstick, and advises everyone to do the same.

Molly sends multiple sparkler spells at the werewolves.

Lindy Rose

Why was she so short? Why was Robin so short? Damn her family and their short genetics (yes, Robin was not biologically related but still). She huffed and shoved her way past a few more students, wanting to avoid hurting anyone else but wanting to get to Robin as fast as she could. There was only one goal and it was --

"Oh, pixies!" she squeaked as she knocked into someone else. "I'm sorry, I need to find my -- oh, Panda! Are you okay? Are you hurt? Have you seen Robin?" she asked quickly, grabbing the girl's arm to keep her close. Panda, like Robin, counted as family as far as Lindy was concerned, so it was a slight weight off her chest to know she was safe at least.

Kacie Weaver

Kacie’s gaze flicked to her boyfriend as his speech broke off.  “What?  What’s wro…”  Who just broke something?  She gave a slight eye-roll as she turned to see which of her yearmates it had been.

Oh.

Not a yearmate.

Kacie found that she was also standing, wand extended at the wolf… wolves that had started the panic.  She reached for her lightning spells, then stopped.  In the pandemonium, she had no clear shot, and she was not about to electrocute a defenseless second year.  She let an oath out, then turned to Drew as he spoke.

She nodded once, moved slightly and grabbed him by the back of the shirt with her left hand, between the shoulder blades.  “Where?”  She kept her wand raised in her right.  If she got a clean shot, there’d be a wolf getting a billion volts of electricity down its gullet.  She kept her eyes swiveling, trusting Drew to guard their front, and she’d guard their back.

Without much fanfare, @Simon Reed looked up from where he sat with his friends. Their eyes connected, and for a brief moment it felt like the world no longer existed. It was just the two of them, and the tiny Slytherin knew more than he'd ever known anything that he was going to go over there and kiss him again.

That was when @Eli Benoit appeared.

It had been awhile since he'd seen the sweet Ravenclaw. Actually, the last time had probably been their duel, back when Rad still dueled, which was a pastime he'd given up since halfway through last year. The thought made him sad -- so even though a twinge rippled through him as his eye contact with Simon severed, the moment for whatever sweeping romance his hormonal body wanted to inspire vanishing, he grinned as Eli drew up a chair. "It's a sweater!" he said, indicating the masses of yarn that had already accumulated in his lap. "Figured purple was a safe color. House colors are pretty tired by this point, I think."

Rad was going to say more, was going to say that he thought purple would be a good color for Eli, and that the Ravenclaw was welcome to have the sweater as a gift when he was done, but before he could, a valiant and apparently successfully-silenced Gryffindor appeared: @Kay Wickham in the flesh, miming something inscrutable. The Slytherin tossed a glance in the direction of Robin, who must have been the one to cast the offending spell. He lifted his wand to free Kay from her silent prison.

That was when the world ended. The sound of shattering glass assailed Rad's ears. His head whipped around, just in time to see two large shapes crash into the Hall. Wolves. No-- not wolves, werewolves.

The first and only thought in his head was Simon Reed. His eyes strayed away from the massive, terrifying invaders, trying to find the tall head of curly hair amongst the chaos that had immediately erupted. There... there. He could get there, get to him, protect Simon. It may have been awhile since he'd dueled, but that didn't mean the reflexes in his arms wouldn't cast the spells he needed.

The second thought was Eli. Then Kay. The Gryffindor, he knew, would be able to hold her own. If anybody in the world could beat back a werewolf with her bare fists, it was Kay Wickham. But Eli... The last time they'd dueled, Eli had basically beaten himself. He couldn't leave the Ravenclaw to his own devices. So without asking for permission, he grabbed Eli's hand, gripping it as hard as he could, and yanked.

His eyes once more found Simon, and he pulled Eli along with him toward the older Ravenclaw. Without even a thought, he pointed his wand at the first wolf, hollering a throaty "Confundus!" Then, at the second, "Terroris!" He cursed himself for having given up on dueling, for not having learned any better or stronger spells. Would these even work against werewolves? The two boys passed Lindy, and Aiden, and Pandora, but he couldn't think about any of them right now. All the confidence he'd had in his DADA prowess was gone. In the face of real, actual danger, all he could think about was getting himself -- and Eli -- and Simon to safety. Tears burned at his eyes, and his arm was aching, but he had to nearly be to Simon.

And then. There. Simon Reed. His hand slipped out of Eli's and he grabbed at the taller boy. "Are you okay? We need to get out of here!"

Ethan Smith

What was wrong with @Jacqueline Frost, why was she not leaving. This whole time she wanted to leave and yet she was trying to move him and get in front. That was not going to happen. "JACK... GO..." He yelled at her, he didn't want her to be in this fight. She was too young and Ethan had a soft spot for her and didn't want her being there at all. "PLESE." He looked at her with some puppy eyes.

Though it didn't work.

" Vitis Cole" He called out and sent it toward @Ryker Leigh, or attempted to send it towards that wolf.

Just because he was a duelist didn't mean it was going to work, but he had to try. Students were running and others were fighting. Also where in the world was @Alayna Weasley

Mason Fluke

Fluke had been having a nice chat with Alayna. Okay, maybe not a nice chat. He had been intent on punching Ethan in the face, and that was all that really mattered, because that idiot had attempted to get Alayna to break up with him on a dare. WHO DOES THAT?! Oh yes, his fist was going to connect with Ethan's face and make his nose all bloody and gross, and it would be the most satisfying thing in the world.

Until the sound of crashing glass. Fluke startled, like any normal student would. He became lost in the crowd of panicked students, and Alayna suddenly wasn't anywhere near him anymore. "Wha--?"

Once his eyes landed on the werewolves, though, he felt that exact same fear he'd felt all through the Triwizard tournament. The same fear that told him he probably shouldn't do something, but ought to do it anyway. He pulled out his wand.

He was a Triwizard tournament champion. He could handle this. Maybe.

He pointed his ash wand at the a werewolf ( @Gwynthr Hughes ). The image was clear in his mind. A heavy, solid metal barred cage. The beast was moving quickly, though, and he had to keep up. Finally, the cage was conjured--a fine bit of transfiguration, mind you, but alas, he was still a student.

Gwynthr Hughes

The throw-down started almost immediately and these humans proved a more formidable challenge than the ones outdoors. Spells started flying in his direction. Seemed like they would have to work for the meals here...

He didn't mind, though. He was ravenously angry by now, having tasted only fabrics and leather and stinking wolf-meat. The fur standing up along his body and the mean twist to his muzzle was a testament to that - as was the ferociously ugly snark that dripped from his throat.

Claws clacked on the flagstones as he leapt to avoid the first spell flung at him, barreling headlong into a group of deliciously-frightened children, all in a hurry to get out of the way. Too bad there were too many of them, in too small a space. They went tumbling to the ground as he charged, jaws snapping, when a sparkle out of the corner of his eye slammed into his shoulder with enough force to throw him off his feet. Pain exploded in the area in which he'd been hit, but his madness and bloodlust allowed him to shake it off. He scrambled to his feet and bee-lined for the next human to level a wand at him.

The spell flew shy, and he lunged on a bench and a table to race along the length of it and have a better view of his playing field.

With a great leap and massive jaws open and bared, he slammed into the girl with his muzzle first, raking up her front with his claws and just narrowly missing her jugular with his fangs.

---

Gwyn has barrelled into a group of students and used them for bowling pins. Feel free to include yourself in the group that's down. I tip my hat to @Seeley Pichardo for finding a hit, but the rest of you haven't been quite so lucky. @Damaris Denton, you have just taken Gwyn's weight slamming into you. You could say I took your breath away - and then some. My teeth are also awfully close to your neck.

Ralph Digby Hamilton

One second Ralph was roaring for literally no actual reason, the next the ENTIRE Great Hall was in an uproar as glass shattered everywhere and two giant wolves broke through the windows.

"HARMONY!! WHAT DO WE-?" The Hufflepuff screamed like a small child as spells almost immediately started firing off in every direction. A stray knockback jinx hit him as Harmony yelled to get under the table. She was much smarter than he was, so for once Ralph listened immediately, nearly knocking the table over in his haste to join his friends underneath.

It took a second for him to realize the wetness on his face was from tears.

Jacqueline Frost

Jack slammed the textbook against the wooden surface of the table, releasing her frustrations towards Ethan in the process.

Survival of the fittest.

Natural selection.

Any other aspect of Darwinian theories, all things the third year wanted to go on a rant about. All things she'd mentioned before when she was being a pain and he was getting in the way of her plots for world domination. All things that she wanted Ethan to remember. All things that could only be conveyed with pleading eyes and another shove:

Don't be a hero. Run.

She didn't want him to be a hero, she wanted him to be safe.

There were only three people in the castle that Jacqueline Frost gave a flack about: one wasn't here, one could put up a fight (and she'd never admit she cared for their wellbeing at the moment), and the other was trying to live up to a name of glory and he was going to end up dead.

She glared at Ethan again, mouthing: 'Run.'

Avery Potter

“STOP!” Avery cried out, wondering whether the spells were going to affect them more. If everyone stopped shooting spells, then maybe the wolves would leave. “ @Ethan Smith let me go pet them. Maybe they will react to a female better.”

Maybe this was like a unicorn. Maybe they needed to be loved, and adored, and would trust her if she was gentle and kind. Maybe, just maybe, they wouldn’t try to eat them if they were nice to them. Avery made a step or two towards the wolves.

Damaris Denton

There was so much screaming. Students were firing off spells as quickly as they could think of them. She stuck close to Killian, who had fired off spells at the werewolves as well. "Where the hell did they come from?!" It was the only thing that Damaris could think to ask. At that moment, her wand was completely forgotten.

The wolves must not have liked all of the spells--in fact, they only seemed to be getting angrier by the second. "Killian," she whimpered. "I don't think they liked that very much."

The wolf slammed into her, knocking her out of Killian's arms and onto the floor. Under the full weight of the wolf, she could feel something begin to crack. It raked its claws along her front, and she was certain that she was now bleeding too. That was less a concern, however, than the fangs that were by her neck.

She could feel the wolf's hot breath against her ear. She wanted to scream, but nothing came out.

Instead, she squeezed her eyes shut and hoped it would lose interest in her.

Ethan looked at @Avery Potter when she said something about petting one. "You go hide now, you go near that wolf I will stupefy you." Then he went back to Jack who looked like she was trying to tell him something but he was not listening at this moment, well she was talking since she was silenced.

Man he should have left when she wanted to leave, but now he was trying to save people. Knowing that he needed to save people, and make sure that they were alright.

"Avery, please go hide. I can't have something happening to you." Ethan couldn't think of something happening to anyone at this moment. When there was a wolf on top of @Damaris Denton "Hey Wolf @Gwynthr Hughes, Ferire!" No one was going to get hurt. At least he hoped so.

Veronica out of the corner of her eye saw one of her cousins, @Avery Potter walking towards the werewolves. Internally, she facepalmed and sighed as she had to try to figure out what she would do to be able to stop her, but she knew that she was a very naive child as she was one of the children who got kidnapped from PHP before her first year.

Of course, Avery would try to hug a wolf. The only thing that Veronica could do was scream towards Avery.

"STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Umph. He was bowled over, just like half the great hall. It was like he weighed nothing. He knocked over into the side of a house table, wincing.

"GET OFF HER!" Killian roared, going into full protection mode. His girlfriend was literally pinned underneath a monster, and he went into a blind rage, charging forward to jump on the back of the werewolf, his fists reaching for every bit of fur to grip and pull and tear off.

Prince A. Charming

Atticus smiled at @Samuel Curtis and nodded. "We might as well try to get this work done while we can. Better than having to do it later." At least he thought along those lines. He had always been a good student in muggle school. He always done his homework and always done it on time. That wasn't to say he was smart, though. He was probably average at best with a few subjects being stronger than the others. But he tried and he always did his best because he had wanted to get a scholarship offer to a university to play football.

He'd never get one of those, now. In fact, all of the dreams he had ever had were ruined because he had some magic in him. And he was still skeptical that he had any magic in him because he was so bad at everything at this school. That could be because he was scared of magic but it could also be because there had been some mistake and he should be back in the muggle world. He and Sam talked about this a lot and he was sure the Hufflepuff was sick of hearing about it.

The muggleborn turned to his best friend to ask about the assignment when something happened. Actually, everything happened. At once. There was absolute chaos and Atticus didn't know what to do or even what to think. He grabbed Sam by the arm and pulled him under the table. He didn't think their weak knockback jinxes would serve them well at all when these creatures were obviously very big and very strong. Instead, perhaps hiding was the best option.

Jack was sure of two things:

One: He didn't care about anything beyond making sure that Maggie survived this.  They could have the rest of them.  They weren't taking his sister.

Two--Seeley Pichardo was certifiably insane.

He'd also become aware that fear, as unfamiliar as it was, was a choking, lurching feeling that clawed in his chest like his very own monster and made it difficult to breathe.  He could hear his heartbeat in his own ears, which seemed preposterous, considering the noise--the breaking glass, the screaming, the din of raw, unfettered panic that rippled through the student body and spread like a virus, the pounding of @Jacqueline Frost's book on the table.

And in among all of that he remembered @Professor Foster's lesson.  The sparkler spell.  The flare charm. ' ...lifetime of guilt it would feel knowing it had killed or turned another would be far worse than the temporary damage you might inflict.'  Something sick twisted in his stomach and he wondered, momentarily, if he actually had it in him to hurt another person.  To really hurt another person because there were people inside of their heads.  People with hopes and dreams and lives of their own and none of this was fair...

But Maggie.  Maggie.  He was dimly aware of Seeley's order and he grabbed his sister, fingers tight in her robes, and shoved her roughly toward the door.  'You won't outrun a werewolf for long.'  He could practically hear his Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher reminding him, but it was different to be in the thick of it, to feel panic spider-walk coldly up each of the bones in his spine until it was choking out the air in his lungs.

He couldn't outrun a werewolf.  No, he absolutely couldn't, but he could make sure that he was between their jaws and Maggie.  "Just go!" he shouted at her, finally getting words to move beyond his teeth.  With words came courage and clarity and a precise idea of what he had to do.  "I'm right behind you!"  He looked over his shoulder, at the brute mass of bloodied fur and razor claws.  "Coruscare!"

Hunger and rage were why Dottie outran the patronus charm cast by the spellcaster on the lawn. The girl who had fled into the castle was why Dottie was able to slip in through the open front door.

From there, she had only to follow her nose to find the veritable buffet awaiting her in the Great Hall.

As a Ravenclaw, Dottie had always appreciated that all meals at Hogwarts were served buffet style. As a werewolf, she was glad to see that this hadn't changed.

Bursting into the room, she let out a piercing howl to announce her presence, as Ryker's smell stuck out among the others and she needed him to know that she was there.

"AWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Dottie has joined the fray and she hasn't had a chance to eat. Good luck.
