Headmistress McGonagall

Study Hall

Recommended Posts

Avery Potter

She had been enjoying her carefree study session. Thus far, Avery had not completed any actual studying. She had helped her cousin, she had enjoyed looking at Ralph’s drawings and somehow caused a look of horror upon Pandora’s face.

At the sound of a crash, Avery turned to see if someone had actually caused a charm to go wrong. Her eyes came into contact with a puppy, before she realised that it was actually something very different. Damaris screamed for everyone to run and Avery was rooted to the spot.

Then she leapt forward to ensure that her cousin was there still. She looked around, longing to find @Alayna Weasley or @Ethan Smithwho would save them. She shivered, wondering if this was a practical joke - whether this was a assignment set up by @Headmistress McGonagallin order to see them work together.

Ethan Smith

"It is not my fault." Ethan looked back over at @Anton Hunter and trying to ignore Alayna when he head that Damaris yelling about a werewolf. "How in blody hell did a werewolf get in here?" Ethan has never seen a real werewolf before,  he has learned about them. "RUN... HIDE." Ethan then remember that Jack was there. " @Jacqueline Frost get behind me now." Ethan yelled, knowing that he had silenced her.

Jack pushed him, it seems like she was saying no to it. Ethan gave her a look. She might be silenced, but Ethan was going to protect her and others that were here.

Grabbing his wand out, he just hoped that he was able to save people.

This was different, these creatures could kill. "Everyone get behind me now and let's move." Hoping that people would get behind him as he was trying to do something, but he just didn't know what to do.

Ethan has his wand out ready to attack, but has not send any spells but trying to protect the people in the great hall.

Aggie Price

@Anderson Potter

Aggie and Drake had been settling down to work on various assignments when suddenly something came through the window.  Aggie looked in disbelief at first and her first thought was quickly dismissed as she knew her friend had reported to Britney like he was supposed to.  She resisted the urge to scream and, instead, remembered that as a prefect, she was responsible for keeping Hogwarts safe.

Like Damaris, she yelled to those around her.  "RUN!  GET OUT!"  Looking at Drake, she told him, "Drake!  Please get to safety!"  Her voice almost begging him.

Rising from the table, she drew her wand and went to find Ethan and Idina but not before aiming at the intruder.  "EXHAURIRE!"

Aggie sends strength stealer spell at @Gwynthr Hughes.   He's had a busy night already and really does need to rest.

Aiden Hunter

Yeah, he was done.

Aiden clapped his textbook shut with a sigh, he would literally rather be doing anything than studying right now. Still, he wished that he had some excuse to not read through his books.

Then a loud crash made him jump and he heard one of the older students yell. His head immediately shot over to where the noise had come from. “Why should we be-?”

That was no ordinary wolf. Aiden took his wand out, he knew he stood no chance but what if he had to protect himself? He heard the head boy call for people and Aiden moved towards him.

Killian Dracel

Killian had been sitting with Damaris, making fun of Ethan's hair the entire time he was supposed to be studying. "Who does that tosser think he is, anyway?" Because, sure enough, he had many girls around him.

Suddenly, there was a crash, and chaos, and THAT WAS A BLOODY WEREWOLF!

Killian looked wildly at Damaris, and then at the werewolf that had just crashed through the window.

Running sounded really good. He grabbed Damaris, keeping her with him.

Jaxon Sinclair

Shattering glass was a sound that he tended to associate with his younger brother.  Adam Sinclair had a penchant for theatrics, though the drama didn't spread to his emotional capacity.  It was really only a thin, poorly crafted disguise for the fact that he actually just enjoyed destroying things.  So when that sound--that crushing, crunching, breaking sound reached his ears, his first thought was that it was absurd because Adam wasn't at Hogwarts yet.

His head spun toward the noise, quickly punctuated by screaming.  Something lurched in his chest, ugly and unfamiliar.  He'd never really been afraid of things as a child.  He'd always trusted implicitly that the authority figures in his life would always be there as a wall against the monsters in the dark.

But his parents weren't here.  Uncle Julian was at a pizza party wasn't here.  It was just Jack and Maggie and his homework was immediately forgotten when he saw what, exactly, had shattered through the glass--a great, hulking mass of muscle and slavering jaws and his fingers tightened in his sister's robes.  "Maggie," he heard himself choke her name out when he stumbled up from the table, his wand gripped tightly in his left hand.  "Run!"

Alayna Weasley

It was always Ethan’s fault. First, she’d had to endure the aftermath of him losing control of his little whims and now… now she still couldn’t escape them. Alayna glowered at the boy as she shout at him and was nearly ready to erupt entirely when… the Great Hall chose to erupt before her. It was the loud crash which alerted the Gryffindor to the werewolf suddenly standing before them. She merely stared at it for a few moments wondering if it were even real. It couldn’t be, after all… right? Werewolves didn’t get into Hogwarts anymore. Any which might’ve been there as students were made to drink their potions daily.

Right? Wasn’t that right? It had to be right….

…but obviously it wasn’t. And as that realization flooded through her, the Gryffindor too filled with dread. This was her worst nightmare. Something she’d feared for as long as she could remember, and now… her family. Where were they? Where’d they gone? “Avery? Desmond? WHERE ARE YOU?!” Instinctually Alayna went for her wand and waved it at the air in front of her, conjuring up Cinnamon the Lion in the hopes that it could at the very least shield someone from the blood thirsty creature before them.

“GET IT CINNAMON, GO! AVERY. WHERE ARE YOU?!!!!”

Anton Hunter

“I don’t really know, Ethan,” Anton told him with a sgrug of his shoulders, proceeding to get right back to work on his Transfiguration notes.

That was until he was stopped by hands covering his eyes and…

Oh for the love of-

“Ava what do you want this time?” Anton asked with a sigh. because really, barring Morty and Shiv, he doubted there was anyone else that would try this tactic on him, and at least the former two were likely to announce their presence. Granted he did notice her shampoo didn’t smell the same, but he was conscious enough not to voice that.

“If you’re going to stay though, we can talk about Transfig-“

CRASH!

“What in the-“

Anton looked up and then jumped out of his seat, spruce wand in his hand. Werewolf. There was a WEREWOLF!

@Ethan Smith! Try to get the younger kids to safety! EVERYONE GET OUT!” Chaos was going to unfold, but Anton began to shoot Vine Hexes out in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, they could bind themselves around the intruder. He looked at @Ava Winchester and then called out,

“RUN!”

Ryker Leigh

Dottie had caught wind of something, she must have because she was running much faster then he could ever recall seeing her run before.  Ryker sniffed the air trying to catch the scent too but it was a sound that stalled him and snapped his head in the direction of something else.

More screams, echoing screams that weren't coming from underneath the night sky.

Then a aroma of food, real food and raw, fearful food too blew past on a breeze and as much as he wanted to see what had caught Dottie's nose this had caught his more.  His paws took him in a new direction.  Golden light shined out of a broken window and he heard a growl from within.  Not one of the strangers, from one of his own.

He ran back and turned around and then charged, leaping through the same window and landing with a crunch of more glass just inches from @Gwynthr HughesA spell flared up and he snapped at the vine, he'd already had enough of this tonight.  He was hungry and this looked so much more promising already.

Ryker has joined your Study Hall... it's now a feast.  Probably not for you, though.

Julian Pritchard

Julian simply nodded along as Aurora, followed by Celeste, joined their study group. He was distracted from the goings on, and the mystery of why Celeste  knew so much about princesses, by the fact that Dorjee was waving at him and Hazel from a few steps away. He must’ve noticed Julian listening on in his conversation.

Julian shifted uncomfortably in his seat, tried to lift his hand to wave back at Dorjee, remembered that it was holding Hazel’s hand, and raised the other one. “Hi Dorjee. Sure.” He was a little embarrassed, but also gratified, since it meant he’d have the opportunity to ask Dorjee what exactly he was struggling with.

He turned his attention back to the conversation at hand when a loud crashing noise made him wince, followed by a whole bunch of yelling and screaming.

Disoriented by the sudden noise, Julian tugged his hand away from Hazel and clamped both of them over his ears, trying to locate the source of the commotion.

Three* wolves.

Not just wolves, though - wolves had been extinct in the UK for centuries. It had to be werewolves.

He swallowed, trying to fight the feeling of rising panic urging him to run. There were tons of students, and only three of them. That was bad because it gave the werewolves a whole host of people to hurt, but it meant they - their study group - had a chance.

“Don’t run,” he said quietly, as he stood up slowly, lowering his hands so he could grasp his wand and hold it in front of him. They probably knew as much - Professor Foster had told them it was ineffective - but he needed to remind himself. “Remember, Sparklers and fire if they get close.” He shot a furtive glance at Hazel, to reassure himself that she was okay, before scanning the surrounding area.

“Do you guys see Jack and Jeramie?” His mentees were his responsibility, and he needed to find them. Help them get out.

Robin Corelli-Rose

The first thing that flashed in Robin’s mind was that this was one of Profesor Foster’s simulations after all.

His second was that the wolf snarling by the smashed-in window was a little too real.

This wasn’t a simulation, this was real and happening right now - werewolves.

A tremulous breath went in - and hid in his throat, refusing to come out. Robin stood rooted to his little spot of floor, eyes wide and full of the wolf - no, wolves, more of them were getting it through the wound in the place they thought was safe - at the head of the Great Hall.

Everything Robin had thought of wolves flew out of his head; they were bigger than he’d thought they would be; they were distinctly different from the most wolfish dog he’d ever seen.

The wolves moved, coursing down and through the Great Hall and Robin found his legs at last. His breath came hitching, shoulders hiking up and hands coming up with fingers like claws. He turned and ran. Even if it was futile, it was away. His hero training paled and took a back-seat to the very real fear he suddenly felt.

His pale eyes darted and searched the crowd, thinking names and impressions of the people he sought: ‘man-bun’ and ‘she, who was just as quiet as him’ and ‘boxing - Kay.’ He’s lost sight of them. Moments had passed since he was practicing spells and laughing - Did I take off the Dampening Spell?

The thought crashed seemingly randomly to the fore of his thoughts and brought him to a halt. He flushed with a cold so frigid it burned. The answer to that was No, he did not. He whirled, searching for the sign of braids, strained his ears for that familiar voice, but the press and chaos of the people around him hampered his search.

He caught a different wink of familiarity, however.

Sister.

And then she was gone.

Robin’s pulse fluttered in the hollow of his throat as his panic rose. She was just there - he’d seen her! People flashed and blurred past his eyes. The Great Hall filled with a great noise of screaming and wolf-snarls. It bounced off the walls of the Hall and created a mess in his ears. His hands rose to block it out when he spotted her.

@Lindy Rose Lindy Lindy Lindy Lindy!

Tears sprang to his eyes, of relief and fear at once.

“Lindy,” he said, too quiet to be of much good.

Older sister.

She’d help.

He needed her.

Drew Knight

Drew laughed at Kacie’s hockey pep talk and gave her hand a squeeze as his knee continued to bob. “That’s really adora--”

Drew’s sentence snapped off into silence. Had he just heard…?

Before he’d had any more time to consider the sound he might or might not have heard, a cacophony of shattering glass replaced the uncertainty. Someone yelled to run, and Drew rocketed to his feet so quickly that he almost fell over backwards trying to clear the heavy bench seating at the table. He gaped at the wolf...the werewolf...standing right there in the room where he ate his dinners. In the castle he’d been sure was the only safe place left on earth.

When had he drawn his wand? Drew pointed it, but froze. What if that was River? Was this his friend, or the creature who had left his friend bloody and bitten in the woods for Drew to find? Unable to fire, Drew instead turned to his girlfriend, only able to see the flame of her hair through the tears in his eyes.

“Kacie. Move!

Lindy Rose

Lindy couldn't see him. She couldn't see her brother or any of his usual friend group and it was causing her heart to race faster and harder in her chest. Lindy glanced to see that @Damaris Denton was at least with @Killian Dracel. Okay, they were safe and okay. So Lindy didn't have to worry about them at the moment. "I have to find my brother," she shouted at her yearmates before turning to run in the general direction Robin had been in before. "ROBIN! Robin where are you?" she shouted, trying to be as loud as she could, running past classmates. "Excuse me, I'm sorry," she mumbled, shoving past people to try and find her brother.

Her parents would kill her if she lost him, but it wouldn't be worse than what she would think of herself if he got hurt.

Hazel Wheeler

Hazel was happy. Cheered up by the presence of Aurora and Celeste and the promising talk of princesses. She thought this moment couldn't get any better because it couldn't. So many people she loved and cherished were in one place. The warmth of the Great Hall and the promise that for once everything would be okay.

And then everything shattered. Literally. She turned around to face the crash - confused as to why people were screaming - and almost launched herself at Julian in response. They had to leave. Hazel shoved her books aside in an attempt to stand up. Her breath was starting to go ragged, panic was welling up inside her.

"Ju?" She was searching for his hand blindly, as she tried to keep an eye on the wolf - correction: wolves - that were closing in. Hazel couldn't even start to think straight, scrambling beside Ju as if her life depended on it (maybe it did). There was so much commotion she wasn't certain if there would be a moment to talk to him again. Would they get separated? "Whatever happens, please stay with me."

Hazel fished for her wand from the confines of her cardigan, "Where's Simon? Where's Stella? Emmett! Isobel!"

She started searching the room for a familiar flop of curls or red and gold. There was no way she could keep an eye on everyone in VH 36 at once. The Hufflepuff turned to those around her, "Aurora. Dorjee. Celeste. We need to stick together. Simon! Stella! Emmett! Isobel!"

Avery Potter

The sound of her name caused her to finally fall from her frozen state. She knew that her cousin was shouting for her, as saw Cinnamon being sent. She brought out her own wand, but knew that she had no werewolf shooting spells that could help her. Why wasn’t she older? Why wasn’t she better at being able to protect herself? She was torn between ensuring that her friends were safe, or crying to @Anderson Potter

“It’s fine @Alayna Weasley.” Avery finally shouted out, wanting her cousin to know she was safe. She could hear the commotion around her. She could hear spells being fired. She could hear others shouting to each other to run away. “Maybe they just need a hug?”

Surely, they just wanted to be loved. Werewolves were misunderstood. They were beautiful souls, who couldn’t help but transform in the light of a full moon. If they were adored, maybe they would just leave them alone?

Harmony Granger-Weasley

For once in her young life, Harmony felt like a normal kid. She was surrounded by peers who didn't think she was an absolute genius like Gran.  She was enjoying watching Ralph do a victory screech dance around the table, and hanging out with her favorite cousin. It was a normal night, filled with normal activities and friendly fun.

Then, everything changed when werewolves smashed through the glass windows. Her thoughts quickly turned to the Defense techniques that Foster taught them, to use in case of emergency.

Run

There was nowhere to run. The wolves were everywhere, and the doors seemed so distant from where she was at. She wished she could run somewhere far far away.

Fight.

She wasn't experienced enough to take on a fully grown werewolf, her advanced second year spells wouldn't even make a dent in their thick fur and flanks.

Hide

Preferably, she would climb, like the lesson just a few days ago, but there was nothing to climb in this case. There were no hiding spots that weren't exposed to the outside. She had to save her friends surrounding her as well. This was the only option.

"Get under the table." Harmony hissed to her friends. "NOW.  It's our only option." Harmony began trying to move herself under the table. As much as she would like to join in the fighting of the older students, she recognized that while she was bright, she wasn't powerful enough yet.

Ethan Smith

Taking a breath, and trying to make sure that Jack was fine and everyone else that was here. He seen that Aggie was getting on the front line. " @Aggie Price" He yelled out. "Get as many people as you can and leave." He couldn't see her getting hurt, he knew that she was strong, but he didn't want her to get hurt. Ethan was trying to see who else was in here but he just didn't know at all.

Then BAM...

There was a second one. How in the world did wolves get into Hogwarts. Still holding his wand, he didn't know what to do. He was a bit freaked out but he was trying not to show it. Since he was head boy he needed to protect them This is the sort of attack that Ethan said that he would be ready for back in second year, but he didn't think it would be werewolves.

What happened to the wards that were around Hogwarts. This was a mess. "Defluo!" He yelled pointing at one of the werewolves. Not thinking that it would work but maybe it would be able to help the younger students get out of harm way. "MOVE, everyone move. Grab a friend and get out of here, if you can. Hide, anything."

Ethan attempted to cast the disorienting spell towards the werewolves.

Seeley Pichardo

'At least someone believes in me.'

That had been the last sentence she'd said, before the crash of glass and the screams began.  The blonde's hand didn't hesitate towards her wand, her reflexes had always been good and that was the first thought she had.  Screams meant trouble and trouble could be solved with magic, whatever it was.  She was a prefect, she was a sixth year and she could handle it.

That's what her mind told her and when her eyes registered the scene of two massive werewolves standing on top of broken glass on the other side of the hall, she almost second guessed it.  But then, she heard a voice in her ear, the voice of Jack - who'd just been so embarrassed by her - telling his sister to run and her head snapped towards him too.  She pointed her wand towards his face.

"YOU RUN!" She demanded, half tempted to shock the slytherin in the arse herself to get him moving.  It wouldn't be the first time she'd done such a thing to someone.  Shoving @Jaxon Sinclair , she stepped up on the table and pointed her wand towards the space between the two wolves.  "Ferire!"

Then she pointed it at herself.  "Disimulo."  If there was ever a time to be invisible, it was now.

Seeley has sent a smiting hex at both @Gwynthr Hughes & @Ryker Leigh and cast a Disillusionment Charm on herself.  You can't see her.

Salomé Schiferli

Salomé was still waiting for a reply when all of a sudden there was a loud crashing sound and wolves appeared?! But no, those weren't wolves, those were werewolves. What the bloody hell were werewolves doing at Hogwarts? The thirteen year old felt panicked. Quickly looking around the Great Hall she realized in a way most of them were stuck in here because there were so many of them in here. They were like lambs led to the slaughter, weren't they?

Salomé did something very stupid. She threw a plate at the closest wolf, before realizing that wasn't smart, and took out her wand. "Fipendo!" She shouted,  towards @Ryker Leighbut no! That wasn't smart either. @Harmony Granger-Weasley told them to hide, and Salomé got under the table. "What is going on?!?" She just got back! This can't be happening!

Killian kept his arm banded around his girlfriend as she was rightfully frightened. "EVERYONE GET OUT OF HERE!" he shouted at everyone around him. There were many younger students who wouldn't be able to fend for themselves. Not against a werewolf--though he certainly wasn't confident in his own abilities to face down a werewolf. "Stay with me, Dam..." he said.

His wand was out, pointed at the second wolf to join the chaos.

"Impedimenta!" he cast at the werewolves, one each.

Jacqueline Frost

Jack presented a challenge, a challenge Ethan didn’t hesitate to accept, even with half the school staring at them and she couldn’t have been more proud. Still, she crossed her arms frowning because she expected Ethan to take her to the common room and instead chose to stay, dealing with Teenage Drama™, getting yelled at by the Head Girl (Jack debated throwing a book at her to shut her up) and they were still there. Huffing, she tugged on Ethan’s sleeve again, exasperated by the lack of action and the lack of sign that they would be heading out of the study hall within the next thirty seconds.

She reached for a heavy textbook, determined to knock some sense into the prefect when she heard the shattering of glass and the chaos that proceeded. Jack froze, snapped back to reality only by Ethan’s voice yelling at her to stand behind him. She pushed him back, shaking her head, threatening to throw the book at him if he dared step closer, gaze pleading. Run.

She couldn’t protect anyone, but delusion was one of her qualities.

She had to try.

Veronica Dursley

Veronica hadn't been paying much attention to what was going on, nor did she know as she was up in the Gryffindor common room most of the time.

She had realised that she definitely needed to come down for some kind of snack and or studying, as she was trying to find a place to be hard at work with her studying for the owls. After all, she had some sort of semblance of wanting to become a healer in the future, whether that happened or not. She grabbed the necessary textbooks and her wand just in case she would need to practice some wand motions for spells. It was the kind of thing that she didn't think she would've been doing in her first year. She was thinking about her future and her potential career as she made it near the Great Hall. She heard noise coming from inside, but she really didn't think anything of it as she was almost sure it was just some idiots screaming and yelling and having a proper good time.

Then she opened the door to the Great Hall and saw the werewolves in all their glory attacking students.

She rolled her eyes and scoffed a little in defiance, but mostly in fear, "Great, Hogwarts has gone to the dogs. Looks like next year, I'm gonna look into transferring."

Sure, it wasn't the best line but she thought it was clever. Though, she wasn't sure what to do. Do dogs hate water or is that cats? Whatever. She raised her wand and shouted the shower charm as loud as she could and cast in the direction of a dog.

----

Shower Charm  @ nearest wolf or student - There's some water going towards nowhere in general. Veronica just thought it was a good idea to get everyone squeaky clean, or try to defend herself.  She might regret that, but who knows?

Anton Hunter

His Vine Hex was basically eaten, and Anton began to sweat like a pig. He could feel the adrenaline firing through his veins. They had to move, they had to get people to safety. Where was his sister, where were his friends? Had the werewolves gotten Shiv, and Morty, and Sophia too? Anton’s wand arm was beginning to waver a bit, warring with the instinct to flee for himself.

But there were so many younger kids. He had to be brave, somehow.

Somehow.

“We have to move, we have to,” Anton said aloud, though to whom at this point even he didn’t know.

He had to be brave.
