Hazel Wheeler

you caught me cookie handed

Hazel Wheeler

Hazel wasn't entirely sure why she was doing this. Why did she feel the overwhelming urge to take as many cookies from the Hufflepuff common room as she could? Why was she marching with two buckets to a hand (though that didn't even make a dent in the amount and she'd have to go back for the rest) toward the lake?

Chocolate chip cookies threatened to fall off the brim of the buckets, the sent of the cookies making Hazel regret everything. She would be excommunicated. Destroyed. Some of her own cookies were amongst this pile.

When she reached the edge of the lake, Hazel carefully placed one of the buckets at her feet. With a deep breath and a small prayer, she dumped one of the buckets into the lake.

Kelby was walking through the grounds investigating the area surrounding the castle when she witnessed a terrifying scene. While she was definitely not a Hufflepuff, she did like to eat.

And this was a travesty.

"What a monster," she remarked, shaking her head. The scene hurt too much to watch.

"Hazel, please stop and think about what you're doing!" It was too late to save one of the buckets, but not too late to save the other. "Please, think of the children."

And by "the children" Behati meant herself. She loved chocolate chip cookies ;___;

"I have to do this Behati," Hazel muttered incoherently, eyes glassy as she reached down for another bucket.

"Were they a bad batch or something?" Stella asked the Hufflepuf.  She couldn't think of any other reason Hazel would do such a thing.

The cookies smelled perfectly fine, not at all like a botched batch.  They smelled delicious, in fact...

"No. This is just what I have to do," Hazel replied, tipping another bucket of cookies into the lake. Someone should really stop her. This was turning out to be a horrible loss for the cookies. And they are the real victims here.

Hazel really didn't seem to realize what she was doing.  The cookies were still steaming hot, for Merlin's sake.  They were at IDEAL EATING TEMPERATURE.

She turned to @Kelby Matosand @Behati Gadotwith a grimace on her face.

"Guys.  We have to save those cookies."

"You reckon we should slap the buckets out of her hand?" Behati asked @Stella Peabody.

She didn't want to hurt her friend, but Hazel was going on a rampage. She had to be stopped.

"Maybe if two of us hold her arms down and the other grabs the buckets?"

The cookies that had already been lost were drifting slowly to the bottom of the lake.  It was a truly heartbreaking sight.  There were enough cookies for a cookies and milk party in the kitchens.  They had to be saved so they could be used for a good cause.  In her tummy.

"Or we could let me do what I have to," Hazel shot back with a smile. @Behati Gadot and @Stella Peabody just didn't understand. This was supposed to happen.

"We could definitely try that." Bee was sure that her Quidditch skills would come in handy.

"No Hazel, we have to save you from yourself."

On second thought, maybe using force wasn't the best way.  They might crush the precious cookies.

"Wait, let's try to distract her!  Ooh, look at that flower, Hazel!" the Slytherin pointed at a random patch of grass behind the Hufflepuff's head.

"Flower? Where?" Hazel's trance was momentarily broken, but in her haste to turn around, she knocked over one of the buckets - sending them across the grass or in the water.

They obviously could no longer save the cookies in the buckets, but there were still cookies in the kitchen that hadn't been tampered with. "Rest in peace to those cookies that didn't make it," Bee said aloud, wishing she could pour one out for her fallen homies.
