Professor Gawkrodger

The Sorting Feast

Recommended Posts

Seeley Pichardo

Pulling back down her hand as she was recognized (and appreciated by Professor Althaus) Seeley very quickly became glad she had moved away from Desmond because suddenly food was flying.  It wasn't the first time a food fight had broke out among her year mates, and it likely wouldn't be the last, but this time... this time, she wasn't going to be involved.

There was currently, no chicken on Havana's head... and so she had no photo in this fight.   Scooting even further away from the madness, she reached for a roll, tipped an empty plate in front of her to use as a makeshift shield in case anything came flying her way unexpectedly... and waited for someone to get detention.

That had to be coming soon.

Professor Althaus

Althaus had, like last time, placed a barrier between him and the students as food started flying. There was certainly no need to intervene yet. "This is much tamer than their last food fight," Kasper said casually as he tried to balance pieces of his roll on Booker's head.

Hatty Hambeldon

The food was going in Hatty's mouth as fast as it was also being thrown at other people. Because she wanted to join her yearmates and have some fun of her own too. She sent a mud pie flying in the air, and she watched as it SLOOOOWWW-MOTION launched over to the Ravenclaw side of the Great Hall.

Cecily Redwood

Cecily grinned. She'd started chaos in the Great Hall. On the first night. When ace saw Rowan on the table she jumped up on Gryffindor's. Covered in potatoes, pie, and juice ace started running down the table, kicking plates as she went and throwing more spaghetti at all the Gryffindors.

Desmond Potter

Throw something at her face, perfect. He grabbed some pie, he was done eating anyway since this food fight was better and walked over to Ollie and smashed it in her face. "Is that what you wanted?" Smiling.

Professor Foster

"Protego," Peggy muttered. She stole another glance toward the center of the head table, but the Headmaster seemed oblivious to the students' misbehavior. She turned to one of the professors closer to her. "Is this throwing food thing a recent tradition? It was definitely not part of the sorting feast when I was a student."

Ollie Celeste

“Desmond this is serious! I was, like, full on screaming at her last year. And now she’s, like, sat right there!” She needn’t worry about the lack of food decorating her for long though, as she begged for help, a considerable amount of chocolate landed on the right side of her face. Turning to see Hatty with a muddy pair of hands, Ollie shot her a thumbs up. “Desmond, you take the left side,” she gestured to the clean cheek, before throwing a platter of chips in the direction of the Gryffindor table.

As she turned to celebrate the chaos, Desmond whacked an entire pie in her face.

"It's perfect."

Jake Morent

Jake looked up as a pudgy owl began hopping across the table, looking eagerly for food. Jake knew all of the school owls by name (Well...by Jake's names for them), but this was a new one that he hadn't seen before. "Hi there," Jake said to the owl. "You look hungry." he said, as the owl stared up at him and Jake stared back.

It seemed that the owl had had a lot of food already, but it WAS a very big owl, and so Jake thought he probably could eat a lot of food. Jake would be glad to share. "Here ya go," the boy said, offering some eggs. The school owls never seemed too picky about what people food they would eat off of the plates. "You should meet my owl Snowball," Jake said. "He'll show you around."

Fern Blackburn

Fern was pretending no food fight was happening at all, because last year when her year started one she had even thrown dinner rolls at the staff table and never got in any form of trouble over it, so why push her luck?

The Giant Squid

The Giant Squid always hated when he missed out on all the food. He glared at the windows of the Great Hall from his place on the lake. He knew they were in there filling their human bellies. A chilly breeze passed over him. There was also a creature in there being handfed. The Giant Squid was so neglected.

Professor Hambeldon

He was eating so fast from being overly hungry that he didn't even notice his niece join the food fight or the food fight at all for that matter. He didn't even notice a piece of spaghetti land in his hair.

All he did was give a very loud burp.

Rowan Allard

"Oh, hey Lindy. Glad you're in my house." Rowan said, smiling down at the girl in between launches of food. Upon her nails scraping the bottom of the bowl in her hands, she dropped it, reaching down to pick up the next closest thing - were these tacos? "Get on up here. Initiate yourself."

Mittie gave a thought to the Giant Squid, one of the most underappreciated creatures at Hogwarts. She ate another piece of calamari pensively.

Panda

@Rowan Allard: Congratulations! You have received 1 Panda Point

There was food flying everywhere, and it was pretty much the greatest thing ever, as long as Panda stayed out of the way of the food-givers' flailing arms. This food-giver gave Panda a lovely pat on the head as the owl made his way towards some spilled potatoes. Panda dipped his head so that the itchy spot on his neck was under her fingers, enjoying the attention before moving on his way.

@Lucius Cronus: Congratulations! You have received 2 Panda Points because I loled everywhere.

Oh now here was a food-giver of legendary generosity. The pudgy owl's round eyes seemed to grow huge at the sight of the offered plate. “Hoot hoot hoot!” he hooted at the student, nuzzled his hand in adoration, and tucked into the people fud with gusto.

@Ethan Smith : Congratulations! You have received 1 Panda Point

Yes. Yes he would like some food.

With a flurry of flapping Panda managed to loft his rotund bulk into the air and land over at the quiet space where the food-givers were not throwing. He waddled to the student who had spoken the magic word “food” and began questing around the immediate area to see what snacks might be offered.

Sir Forrest of Orange III

The castle was alive again.  And, judging by the sound of it -- under seige.

From his post standing guard in the entryway Sir Forrest could hear the commotion rising from behind the heavy wooden doors and he tried to picture just what might be causing such a ruckus.  Surely, it must be some right kind of battle.

One for the ages.

The recently polished metal gave a shake as the old suit of armor sighed in appreciation.  If this noise was any indication, it was going to be a good year.

"Hatty that was amazing, also where did you get those mud pies at?" Sure magic would be the answer, at least for once the now second years were not using magic in the great all and just using food.

Lindy Rose

Initiate? Lindy didn't know food throwing was a part of the feast -- her parents hadn't told her that anyways -- but she wasn't going to say no to Rowan. She climbed onto the table and grabbed a bowl of pudding and threw it at the nearest table.

"Do you do this every year?" she asked through a giggle.

The owl came over to Ethan, he was not expecting that at all. He held up some bacon and hoped that the owl would like it. "Do you like bacon?" He asked the owl. Knowing that it couldn't talk back.

"My mum," she replied. She was supposed to have given one to her uncle on the train too but he had gone to a compartment to sleep and she had never seen him for the rest of the trip. "She makes the best pies."

Rani Rao

Rani kept her head down and took small, nervous bites of her baked potato. This was turning out to be much more dangerous than she had anticipated. Luckily the food-throwing didn't seem to have reached her table yet. Hopefully it would stay that way. Was this supposed to be happening? The professors didn't seem horribly concerned about it.

Jenna James

Professor James had already been hard at work today, unlike several of her comrades. What she really wanted was some tea for her throat, and a nap. And some solitude. However, first she had to stand through Headmaster Gawkrodger's speech because apparently she wasn't allowed to take her seat first. Thanks again for the job, pal. So she stood awkwardly next to the Sorting hat on it's stool, job finished for the year and waited to be dismissed.

She had never before paid attention to what Theobald did after the whole sorting bit was done so when he was done with his speech she considered herself dismissed and instead of joining the faculty for their viewing of the food fight meal she picked up the sorting hat and carted it off back to the Headmaster's tower where it lived.  She'd eat without the masses of students later and be all the more happy for it.

Perhaps he'd actually done her a favor after all.  Aww.. thank you for actuals, Theobald. <3

Professor Narsinghani

Sam reached underneath the table into the bag that had been sitting at his feet. From it he produced a single container of Jiffy Pop. With a swirl of his finger and a flick of his palm, bluebell flames appeared on the table underneath the aluminum container. It only took a few minutes for the top to pop open revealing perfect popcorn. He enjoyed it while watching the commotion, offering some to those around him.

"Do you have any more?" He asked, he loved pie and if they were cooked by her mum he was sure they would be good.
