  2. Avery Potter

    First Bake

Avery had no idea what she was letting herself in for. She had decided to ask for permission to start an actual baking club... then when it had been approved she had felt a lot of worry. Was she actually a good enough baker to follow through with her wishes? Would she be ousted from club leader by the end of the first week? It did not matter. She was ready to bake her little heart out. It was the first week, she wanted to start with something simple. What was simpler then cupcakes? With the valentine’s celebrations coming up they would be able to share the love with others. “Guys!” Avery said, hoping someone to join her. “Who wants to make cupcakes with me? Or… something else. I don’t mind. I just want to get baking.”
  3. Finn Holly

  4. Finn hadn't the slightest of silly little clues what an Auror was. Given a thorough review of the position, its ominous display of danger, and the terrors endured by those God-like enough to bestow the honor—no, he'd scoff, loudly, and traipse right back out the way he came. It wasn't for a lack of bravery, but rather an innate sense of risk that outweighed the imminent glory. Finn was calculating, precise, and with these effective talents still under development at the prim young age of eleven and three quarters, he lacked the wit to walk away. Besides, he only bothered showing up because @Eleanor Malverne was looking awfully spiffy about the meeting... he was doing the girl a favor by laughing at her meek introduction. A heightened sense of duty and importance would just go straight to her head. "Finn here."
  5. Phillip Aldermaston

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

Did Phillip want to be an auror. No, no thank you. Did he not want to be an auror? Yes, very much yes. So what was Phillip even doing here? Ah, the answer to that one was really simple. While he had no intentions of being an auror, he had every intention of completing auror training. Of course, he didn’t intend to do that for any auror reasons – he was doing that so he could protect his patients/students and thus he sat cross-legged looking for ideas on how he could defend himself/others against the good guys.
  6. Molly Stone

    Introduce yourself!

"Everyone here?" Molly grinned as she took in the old and new faces cheerfully. Having official approval of her club this year felt really good. She leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs over the table, before adding: "The pizzas gonna be here soon. I ordered, like, ten pies." Better safe than sorry. "So I'm Molly Stone - fourth year Gryffindor - club leader - super gay. I'm here because I want to chill with people like me and people who embrace me, and I want to have fun." She nudged the person beside her. "Alright, so let's go clockwise with introductions. Feel free to ask me any questions." --- OOC: Hey guys <33 Sorry I've been super busy lately and haven't had time to put together events, but I want to give a chance for people to introduce themselves. Feel free to post IC one-liners - assume this takes place at the first meeting of the year!
  7. Phillip Aldermaston

    Introduce Yourself!

Arts and crafts club? Phillip was there – he liked drawing for one thing and he made little wooden models and the like for another. And he’d been fiddling with knitting so there was that? So of course, when the sign ups came, he eagerly signed his name. Introducing himself was something harder. “Uhh…I like drawing and painting and woodwork” Of course, if they were going to start doing something like drama, Phillip wanted no part of that – well, alright, he might be persuaded to fiddle about behind the scenes.
  8. Halley Naginouni

    Introduce Yourself!

She wasn't really one for arts and craft, but Halley thought joining at least one club might alleviate her boredom. "Hi, my name's Halley. I like to draw things, especially things based on the books I've read."
  9. Molly Stone

    Our first meeting

Link to our first meeting here.
  10. Henry Sanders-Banagher

    Introduce Yourself!

There were so many other students in the Arts and Crafts Club. "My name is Henry and I like everything!" Oh, he probably should have been slightly more specific than that. "Um, well, I like making the scenery for my brother Heath's plays!"

  14. Eleanor Malverne

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

Eleanor had not the foggiest idea what she wanted to do post-Hogwarts. She figured she could follow in her mother's footsteps, into the Department of International Magical Cooperation, or her father's as a publisher. Neither of those paths had the slightest to do with Aurors, although she supposed her mother would work with them from time to time. Mostly Eleanor had decided to join the Young Auror Society to see if she could learn any cool spells to which she did not yet have access. That possibility seemed less and less likely, although Ellie would wait to judge completely. She did introduce herself to the rather intimidatingly large group with a short, curt, "I'm Eleanor Malverne, Slytherin first year," and then melted back into the group. She would wait and see.
  15. Alecia Yates

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

When it came to choosing her career path, Alecia had no idea which career she wanted to pursue. While the blond enjoyed working with animals, she would of rather preferred being around people since she was friendly, outgoing, and had a lot to offer to the world. Becoming an Auror sounded exciting. Unfortunately her dueling skills were rusty having not been in the dueling chamber since halfway through her fifth year. Alecia had been so busy showing a first year a cool new trick she had learned that the Gryffindor found herself late to the first meeting. "Hi there guys. My name is Alecia. Sorry I am late. What is this club all about? Are we going to learn how to defend ourselves against the bad guys?"
  16. Alecia Yates

    Introduce Yourself!

Alecia could not believe that Hogwarts was going to start having clubs. Back in her youth, she had been a part of several clubs including art, music, and soccer. Her favorite had been the art club since this meant using her creative mind and making pretty things with a lot of glitter. The first club she had signed up for had been the Art Club. Alecia had brought some supplies with her to the first session. When it was time to introduce herself, Alecia said brightly, "I'm Alecia. I like making crafts and giving them to others. Here. Have some glitter. I have plenty of it." Alecia started to pass out the glitter.
  17. Zara Anguariz

    Introduce Yourself!

If there was one hobby that Zara loved pursuing throughout her life, it was art. Drawing, painting, or putting together a story to go with her art had been a daily thing back before she had started at Hogwarts. Now that she was about to graduate, Zara was thinking about taking more time to perfect her art and share it with others. When she found out that there was going to be an Art Club, Zara quickly signed up and made time for it in her busy schedule. At fist, Zara quietly listened to her peers introduce herself. When it was her turn to talk, Zara put on her most friendly smile. "Hi everyone. For those that don't know me, my name is Zara. I like to draw, paint, and make up stories to go along with my drawings. Through this club and after graduation, I hope to pursue my art further."
  18. Zara Anguariz

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

Zara was thrilled to find out that this year Hogwarts was going to be starting clubs. Even though she wasn't going to become an Auror, Zara found this club as a good way to learn how to protect herself from danger. The Slytherin wasn't sure how she felt about it being taught by a fifth year. While she liked Seeley, the club should of been ran by a responsible adult like Professor Foster. Zara entered the classroom only to find that there were several people in attendance. "I'm Zara. What is this club all about?

    Craft Fairs and Workshops

Nah, its cool :3 I wouldn't volunteer to do it if I thought it was beyond my means! XD And I just did a TEST VERSION of the "craft table" for the quills and SURPRISE: it was a lot less time consuming than I thought it was going to be! (click image for larger version) So this is what I'm thinking a craft table would look like. People can open this image in photoshop (or whatever their program of choice is), layer decorations (or add their own!) and color their own unique quill! :3 Examples: These probably took me like, 5 minutes each? XD BUT I AM PRETTY HAPPY WITH THEM?? Edit: sorry, I posted this literally before going to bed following a night shift. Regarding the rest of your suggestion @Radueriel Benson: like the the idea of people running their own craft stalls at the craft fair and having them be entirely RP based, and then maybe having a separate thread for auctions where THINGS LIKE THESE can be up for grabs. OR MAYBE skip having an auction altogether and people can decide for themselves how they want to run their stalls (entirely RP, or RP with visual aids that show off what they're selling!)
  20. Radueriel Benson

    Craft Fairs and Workshops

It seems like a lot of people already know how to knit, but if there are those who want to learn, Rad would love to lead a knitting workshop!! And I think the craft fair could be fun, even without the voting component-- it could be purely RP based, with people running their own tables, and RPing visiting the different tables and stuff like that? And then maybe part of that would be the auction with the voted pieces? Just so that lots of people can be involved and it can be a Big Event without meaning a boatload of work for you ?

    Craft Fairs and Workshops

SO HERE'S MY PROPOSAL Hey everyone! I really wanted to get the ball started on throwing ideas around for Arts and Crafts Club, so here's my proposal: CRAFT FAIR I would love to have a craft fair this year! Preferably something where the club puts (some) of their best works on display to be auctioned off so that we can (icly) raise enough money to keep craft supplies in stock. I also think it might be fun to have this tied into some student-led workshops where people can RP their participation. Club members can both complete and fail the workshops (your choice!), and as an additional option, club members can submit their works for auction. I have a few ideas on how we could GET to the auction from here: Option 1: club members who want to submit their art-piece for auction fill out a form that describes their work in some capacity, and club members votes until we have something of a top five list for that workshop. These five picks will then get drawn up and go to auction. Pluses: Making a contest out of this might be a good reward incentive for participation Might be less work for me in the long run People get to vote on things, which is always fun Minuses: Pretty limiting in terms of what goes to auction This is going to stop being fun real fast if the same people keep winning Option 2: I Frankenstein something together that's part coloring book, part doll-maker for student-led seminars so that club members get an actual "craft table" to work with. For example, if Francis were to lead a crafting seminar on quill-making, I would sketch up a few different feather shapes and ornamentation details, save them altogether as one transparent image (the "craft table"), and club members can mix and match, layer, and color elements until they get the exact quill they want. Pluses: More interactive/fun for you guys People can rp their progress instead of submitting ONE THING at the very end ALL works can make it to auction, no voting Minuses: Not everyone has Photoshop or something similar, which might limit participation A LITTLE BIT more work for me at the beginning (but less work overall?) Other club members who want to make use of the "craft table" set up would have to wait on me >> So uh, yeah. THOUGHTS? WORKSHOPS Like I said above, I think it would be a lot of fun to make the results of student-led workshops the auctioned off prizes for the end of the year craft fair, but like, that's just my opinion, man. If you have a different one, I'd love to hear it! Maybe I'll also get the ball rolling on this as well: Who wants to lead which workshops? I'm dead-set on tackling quills with Francis, and I think I remember reading in the intro thread that someone wanted to do UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS (and I am here for it!) but there have not been any individual posts/topics on what people want to do yet, so... feel free to use this thread to stake your own claim, if you want!
  22. Behati Gadot

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

Since she'd first found out about them, Behati had been on a quest to be an auror. Either that or Minister of Magic. Her understanding of the magical world made her want to be more involved in it---as involved as possible, in fact. She'd also wanted to prove that Muggleborns (and, by extension, Muggles) were just as good as witches and wizards. If she ended up being an auror, she'd be the sort to protect all types of people and finally let other Muggleborns see that there was hope. Or something emotional like that. Also, Seeley was one of her favorite prefects so she wanted to be a part of whatever the girl started. "Hi, I'm Behati, and one of my goals is to be an auror. Or Minister of Magic. Or whatever else has a lot of authority. I'm not too picky, to be honest."
  23. Jaxon Sinclair

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

Jack had joined this club for two primary reasons: A. Seeley Pichardo was probably a veela, because she seemed able to make teh boyz do whatever she wanted. B. His father was a cop and he felt obligated to give a flack about this sort of thing. That was why, on a Saturday afternoon, Jack was at some Young Auror club meeting instead of dueling all the damn day in some futile attempt to hold onto the title he'd claimed the year before. He had no desire to introduce himself, especially not right after Kelby, all things considered. They still had some 'working things out' to get around to. Eventually. But eyes were on him as he entered the room, right after Kelby's arrival. "Jack," he said blandly, as if the name alone was enough. His eyes fell on Gracie-Mae after a moment and he breathed an audible sigh of relief. "Hey, Gracie. Glad you're here. I thought I'd only know Seels."
  24. Kelby Matos

    Introduce Yourself!

Kelby had a secret that she had not told anyone else. When her year made their decision to start the arts and crafts club, she instantly was uninterested. Aside from music, she lacked creativity normally. Her stick figures looked like they were diseased, she often messed up her stitches while sewing, and painting and sculpting were entirely too messy. Plus, she absolutely abhorred glitter. But then, something magical happened. She realized there was one perfect reason for her to join the club. Really, it was the most wonderful opportunity. There would be so much to clean! When the Gryffindor was stressed, she always relished the feeling of scrubbing a floorboard or sweeping the kitchen. It was methodical and meticulous in a way that kept her thoughts from roaming too much when she wanted to clear her head. But she couldn’t tell all of these people that, so instead, she froze. “Hi, I’m Kelby,” she said as she began her introduction. Now, it was time to stall. “I’m a second year Gryffindor.” Another pause. Awkward silence followed as she looked down at her robes and then back up to the majority of club members who actually already knew her. “And… I’m here for the … arts and crafts activities. Yeah.” That was honest, right? Cleaning was an activity that resulted from arts and crafts, and no one could convince her otherwise. Feeling her face begin to flush, she instantly plopped back into her seat and hoped her words had been convincing.
  25. Kelby Matos

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

As a twelve-year-old, Kelby hadn’t the foggiest idea what she wanted to do with her life. Some days, she wasn’t even sure what that life would entail. Would she be part of the muggle world or the magical one? With everything that had gone on this summer, she was still grappling as she tried to figure out the answer for either one. The one thing that stuck in her mind was her mother’s plea that Kelby be more serious this year. What could be more serious than joining the young crime-fighting club at Hogwarts? Though if she were being honest, she still had no clue if she would even like it. She just remembered getting her wand that day in Ollivanders when the assistant announced that it meant she was a warrior, and Kelby knew that she had to at least give this a chance. Pushing her way into the Defense classroom, Kelby grinned when she saw some familiar faces, though the most noticeable was definitely Seeley. “Hello everyone,” she announced vivaciously, waving at the group gathered round. It seemed everyone was being rather quiet, but that had never really been the Gryffindor’s style; awkward silences were too uncomfortable for the second year to handle. “I’m Kelby, and I am excited to find out more about this club! When do we get to the dueling part?” She may have been a little misguided with the club intentions, but how else were you supposed to fight crime other than dueling the bad guys? Duh.
  26. Avery Potter

YAS: Not quite a battle cry, but let's start the party.

Avery had joined up to see what the fuss was about. She had always wondered what the extent of her grandfathers’ job was within society. He had been an auror for longer than she had been alive. Surely there was something wonderful about it? Would it be something that she considered going into when she was out of Hogwarts in one hundred years’ time? There was only one way to find out. She would need to go along and see what everyone had to say. If it was too unlike her, she would just go and find something else to do. She still needed to see if there were any fairies down by the lake, after all.
