PARIS--Marguerite Millefeuille, Headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, was found dead last night. The exact cause of death at this time is unknown.
Millefeuille, the granddaughter of Luc Millefeuille, a renowned patisserie and notorious muggle poisoner, spent two decades working at Beauxbatons, in capacities as both the Charms professor and the Transfiguration professor before being appointed Headmistress. Two years ago, she accompanied the Beauxbatons delegation to Hogwarts during the 2039-2040 Tri-Wizard Tournament.
After the famous Beauxbatons’s gardens were severely damaged by veelas in 2039 and the school was unable to host the Tri-Wizard Tournament, Millefeuille engaged in a campaign of exclusion, forcing prospective champions to be tested for veela blood, and attempting to persuade the Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France to make it illegal for any veelas to attend. The campaign was considered controversial, supported by some who believed it would make the school safer, and criticized by others who pointed out that approximately 15% of France’s wizarding community has at least one veela ancestor.
So far, there are no suspects in the case, although spokespeople from the French ministry have acknowledged that they are looking into a possible veela connection.
