GWAED, WALES--Tragedy has rocked the small wizarding village of Gwaed, Wales. The Rees family, one of the founding families of the village, were discovered murdered in their ancestral home. While The Daily Prophet has not received permission to publish the extent of their injuries, we were able to confirm that the Rees family all suffered extensive vampire bites.
The Rees family has employed part-vampires for over a century as servants in their manor that overlooks Gwaed. Reports differ on the nature of the family's relationship with the part-vampires that worked for them. Some claim that the part-vampires had been controlling them for the better part of a year. Others claim that the Rees family was an illusion created by the part-vampires who lived in the manor. Spokespeople from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement have declined to provide a comment, citing their investigation of the deaths as on-going.
Reports have also emerged of locals in town who have also suffered vampire bites and have found themselves unable to cast simple spells. The Department of the Regulation for Magical Creatures did not verify the reports.
