Hufflepuff House Table

Recommended Posts

Julian Pritchard

"The... what?" Julian almost spat out his toast from where he was sitting next to @Hazel Wheeler, eyes briefly darting to her for help. "If you mean a house that's just muggleborns, there's no such thing." He narrowed his eyes at the Durmstrang student who'd spoken, hesitant to explain that he was a muggleborn and wasn't a Hufflepuff. Had she meant to use the word 'mudblood' or was she just confused about appropriate term for it in English?

Behati Gadot

Behati's eyes narrowed. She didn't know when Julian had shown up at their table, but she was glad that he had because he was smart enough to explain to this clearly confused girl why such a word was vastly inappropriate. "We don't say that word over here," Behati told her, her voice edging on a forced calmness. This girl was a guest at their school and the Hufflepuff would do her best to make her feel welcomed, but Bee refused to be disrespected in her own school.

So she chose to believe that @Elva Øster Thorn just didn't know what she was trying to say.

"We're Hufflepuff! Well, except Julian. He's a Ravenclaw. Welcome to Hogwarts! We're so happy to have you all here!" The excitement in her voice was real this time.

Elva Øster Thorn

"Oh.  So if it's not a house entirely of Mudbloods....is it the only one that accepts Mudbloods?" Elva cocked her head quizzically at @Julian Pritchard, a younger boy wearing blue robes who seemed to be sitting at the Mudblood table.  She could have sworn that she had heard about the yellow house at Hogwarts that took Mudbloods when the other houses didn't.  Perhaps this boy was confused because he was sitting at the wrong table, or perhaps things had changed at Hogwarts.

A girl actually wearing yellow robes piped up.  The Dane turned to @Behati Gadotand tried her best to give her a reassuring smile, lest she think Elva was some kind of Grindelwald.

"Oh, don't worry!  I'm halfblood myself - my mother is a Mudblood.  Or, as you say, Muggleborn?"  She corrected herself, even though the word felt heavy in her mouth.

Adrina Althaus-Valerio

Adrina sat at the hufflepuff table, quite wishing she had decided to sit with her brother at the slytherin table instead on this day, as the words being tossed around had certainly made her lose her appetite.  Frowning at the smiley face that she had made on her pancakes with strawberry slices, she picked up her fork and began to slide the slices around until the smile was upside-down and resembled the face she now wore.

Didn't they know this wasn't appropriate table conversation?  She had known... or been taught rather, from a very young age, just what should or shouldn't be spoke about in mixed company and while she didn't always listen to what her parents tried to teach her, this was actually one of those things she stuck with.

*sigh*
