Name: A'Marie Faun Breck
House:Ravenclaw
Birthday: 4 September 2002
Hometown: London, England, in a village called Brerwick Willow
Pureblood/half blood/muggle born: Half
Five Pieces of Me: Timid. A'Marie's very self-conscious and approaches everything first through
this perspective. Curious. She can't help but to be nosy in regards to new situations and people. If she hasn't run across it in a similar situation, chances are she'll try to explore it. Reflective. She finds a reason for everything and everything within a reason. To her, there's a philosophy for everything that exists and she tends to over think the meaning behind the things. Adventurous. Often going along with her curiosity, she loves to explore anything and everywhere she hasn't experienced before. She's deemed life as an adventure that's awaiting her. Introverted. A'Marie generally finds that she gets along better with herself than others and can often be withdrawn or guarded to other people because of this. It's more of a self confidence issue that she's constantly conquering, though it's an important link to her personality.

[paint me a portrait]

Hair Color: Strawberry blonde, though it often lightens to a paler hue in the summer
Hair Style: Thick, long, and extremely curly, she often wears it in pigtails or braids to keep it off of her face and neck. She's been contemplating for the longest time on cutting it, but there's just something comforting about those two little pigtails on either side of her face that makes her reluctant to do it.
Eye color: Dark blue
Height: Just over four feet, she's extremely short for her age and despises this fact with a passion. She'd rather not be reminded of her short stature and anyone doing so will wish they hadn't.
Other distinguishing details: Fair complected and covered in freckles, she showcases her father's Irish heritage proudly. She considers her speckled skin as a collection of beauty marks and therefore leading her to believe that she'll grow up to be beautiful.

Father's name: Lennon Scott Breck
Brief description (occupation, blood, etc): Lennon is a fairly tall, fairly thin man and often resembles that of a stick. He wears his dark auburn hair in a buzz cut as he despises his hair and is too lazy to change it. A dark set of spectacles nearly blocking his brown eyes are always set upon his nose and the freckles he has passed on to his eldest daughter are light in comparison to hers. Lennon is generally laid back and imaginative. He loves to tell stories to his daughters, whether they be true or made up. Muggle born, he stays distanced from his family as his parents are still hesitant about his magical abilities. His daughters have only visited them on a few rare occasions, but A’Marie still finds the muggle world wonderfully enchanting. Currently, Lennon’s an apparation examiner at the Ministry of Magic.

Mother's name: Mallory Lyria Jade-Breck
Brief description (occupation, blood, etc): Mallory is the epitome of beautiful, if beautiful was squashed into a compact woman of 5’ 3”. Her blonde hair and blue eyes were inherited by A’Marie as well as her short stature. Mallory has an eccentric personality; she loves order to the point of questioningly being OCD. Everything MUST be clean and in the place she has left them, even if it doesn’t exactly belong there. This is a potential problem as one of her nervous habits is packing random objects into bags, shelves, and anything else that can hold objects. This is how A’Marie often ends up with old socks and toilet paper in her book bag when she’s not paying attention or finding herself with owl treats for an afternoon snack. Her mother’s a nut, but she loves her deeply for it. Her family comes from the respectably pure blood line of Jades, whose pride comes from their values and achievements rather than their blood. Most of them hold reputable titles at the Ministry of Magic, which is how Mallory got her job when she was previously working on the Troll Rights Movement. She met Lennon there and the two ended up getting married a few years later. Mallory is now a healer at St. Mungo’s.
Siblings (names and descriptions): Charlotte Rayne Breck is A’Marie’s younger sister by four years. The two get along horribly, as A’Marie finds her an annoying brat whose sole purpose in life is to drive her insane. Charlotte loves to “accidentally” set things on fire (though her parents say this is because she’s “come of age” and can’t control her abilities), steal her belongings, and just basically annoy her on a day to day basis.
Other important family members:
Zed and Zinia Jade are A'Marie's maternal grandparents. Parents of five children, they run a sophisticated and strict household. Highly vain and self-centered, the pair consider appearance an important part of life. They do, however, cherish the family they have and encourage each to his or her own strengths.
Quinton and Calista Breck are A'Marie's paternal grandparents. Both muggles, they shy away from Lennon's family because they've yet to understand and accept that their son is magical. Tension reigns high between them, but still they visit because their love for the family outweighs their distrust with magic.
The Jade Family is a collection of A'Marie's aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins. The whole lot of them seem to appear at every single family reunion. A'Marie being the youngest of her cousins (due to her mother being the youngest of her siblings) is currently the only one still in Hogwarts. Yet, she has a legacy to contribute to as each cousin has competed in some kind of activity in their education. The whole lot of them being Ravenclaws and Gryffindors, the competition between grades and quidditch has made it difficult for A'Marie to earn a reputation either way. Not wanting to follow the trend, she tends to ignore her family, as the crowd of them together can be overwhelming.

Your best subject: Potions; A'Marie has a knack for mixing things together. For once, her obsession with detail and study actually allows her to do something without it being blown up.
Your worst subject: Herbology; Plants just aren't as fascinating to her as animals are. They don't really move much unless you've ticked off. She does have a soft spot for their beauty though. The artist in her always causes her to pause and observe anything that looks out of the ordinary.
Extracurricular activities: Dueling; she's finally gotten over the fear that she won't have her head hexed off and has actually become a bit of addict in the chamber.
Favorite place at Hogwarts: The lawn, especially in spring or summer time; here she can sit by one of the trees and read or sketch, away from the noise and chaos inside the castle.
Least favorite place at Hogwarts: None yet.
Do any of the staff members scare you? Professor Oswald; her bizarre fear of old people has caused her to be more than a little suspicious towards the History of Magic teacher. Though she's gotten it for the most part (so she thinks), she still tries to distance herself from the older man. Fifty feet of space, please.
Do any inspire you? Professor Giordano; she admires this teacher for her cool manner and seemingly endless field of knowledge. If she had any idea of what she wanted to do after Hogwarts, Professor Giordano has led her to the possibility of becoming a teacher.

[i painted my soul]

Interests/hobbies: A’Marie loves animals; she finds them fascinating creatures that are much more valuable in companionship than humans (as she believes them to be more intelligent). She also enjoys drawing, sketching, reading, journaling or writing, new adventures, and puzzles. It helps distract her from things she’d rather not like to think about (such as homework) and pass long boring periods of time. She loves sketching though she’s quite horrible at it. She’s hoping that she’ll improve and insists on continuing to work (the whole “practice makes perfect” idea). Secretly, she’d love to be an artist, but she doubts it will ever happen.
What you might like to do after Hogwarts: TBA
Someone you look up to:
Something else people really should know about you?:

VIRGO
(August 23 - Sepember 22)
The Vestal Virgin. Mutable, earth, yin - planetary ruler: Mercury. Keywords: "I ANALYZE"
Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac and governs the nervous system and the intestines. Positive traits include a keen intellect, attention to detail, imagination, politeness, disciplined work habits, realism, practicality, skepticism, organizational skill, curiosity, and modesty; negative traits are anal-retentiveness, anxiety, hesitation, an inability to see the forest past the trees, insecurity, and obsessiveness.

Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw Virgos are skeptical, analytical, mathematically oriented, and sharp witted. Many become great magi, alchemists, and astrologers. These people love ideas and theoretical discussion, and their leaps of intuition can be uncanny. The Earth element makes them shrewd and pragmatic, and keeps them from flying off into cloudcuckooland.

[xblackened_eyes_and_bloody_smilesx--> enemies]

Ashen Aurora [xrhetorically_yoursx--> friend]
A'Marie looks up to Ashen as a mentor of sorts; they share similar opinions and experiences and the Gryffindor definitely has a knack for dueling, something A'Marie wishes she had, too. She envies Ashen's cool demeanor and bright personality but it's also these traits that make her such a good friend.
Gwen Carlson [xrhetorically_yoursx--> friend] They befriended during one of A'Marie's "morality" rants, discovering they shared more than just a house title. Both opinionated bookworms with a love for dueling and classes, being a "nerd" didn't seem so bad, after all.
Elias Frith [xi'd_paint_the_sky_for_youx--> best friend]
Though their first meeting wasn't exactly the most tastiest friendliest, A'Marie adores her co-mentee and thinks he's one of the coolest people in Ravenclaw. When their mentors had disappeared from the face of the earth, the two had stuck together to find their own adventures in Hogwarts. They hope one day to teach their findings to a new batch of mentees.
Carmen Johnson [xand_i've_forgotten_yesterday's_namex--> acquaintance]
Carmen is A'Marie's dueling mentor and thus, has become her newest worshiper. Carmen was the one who taught her there was more than danger and risk to dueling as well as just how addicting the sport is. She admires the older Hufflepuff for her skills and abilities.
Karley Kristine [xand_i've_forgotten_yesterday's_namex--> acquaintance]
One of A'Marie's mentors, she naturally looked up to the older girl, though she hadn't really gotten to know as well as she would have liked.
Hyang Lim [xrhetorically_yoursx--> friend]
They met thinking the other was a muggle and then ran into each other during Hogwarts. Apparently, only witches really believe that other witches could be muggles. Confusing much?
Megan Maguire [xrhetorically_yoursx--> friend] The Gryffindor girl had seen the worst of A'Marie (literally...as a potato) during the ball and though the two had bickered, they'd discovered a layer of friendship beneath it all.
Jordan Taylor [xi'd_paint_the_sky_for_youx--> best friend][xidolized_in_red_and_pinkx--> admired] Though the two are definitely opposites, from their personalities to their heights, beneath it all, there's a friendship that always makes something exciting happen.
Tatiana Taylor [xrhetorically_yoursx--> friend] Losing her sketchbook was A'Marie's worst nightmare and when the two first years had discovered both of their notebooks as missing, they went on a wild goose chase to find them. While she tends to help the Slytherin with her schoolwork and classes, Tatiana makes up for it by catching her when she falls offering a bit of protection from the non-nerds of Hogwarts.
Winter Von Wiederwasche [xand_i've_forgotten_yesterday's_namex--> acquaintance]
A'Marie's mentor, she looked up to the older girl who seemed so very intimidating at times.

A'Marie spent the majority of her summer both anticipating and dreading the start of the school year. On the one hand, she couldn't wait to be on her own (for the most part), away from her bratty little sister and sharing a dorm with people her age instead of much older or younger. She wanted to actually use magic instead of being told she had to wait until she was older. On the other hand, she was terrified of being that far from home. Her family would be hundreds of miles from her and the only means of communication she'd have would be through owl. She couldn't just go home at the drop of a galleon, no matter how lonely or frustrated she got. She was stuck...in an entirely new and rather large setting. It absolutely terrified her. To distract herself from this, she tried to stay away from anything school related but it was impossible. She loved to roam the streets of Diagon Alley, peering in the window of the Magical Menagerie at all the cats she wanted but couldn't have. Buying ice cream, people watching, it was hard to break that routine that she so deeply cherished. She had absolutely no idea what being in Hogwarts would really entail.

[conversations of the heart]

It's a Parkful Day -A'Marie spends a day in the park near her house reading and meets Nathan Clark who tries to teach her the muggle sport of soccer. Incomplete.
What a Place -Deciding to explore the outer extents of Diagon Alley, A'Marie finds herself lost in Knockturn Alley and meets Medusa Morrow, who seems to think that she's a reporter and A'Marie's on the lose to steal her story. Incomplete.
Painted of a Thousand Words -It's a rare occasion, but A'Marie's family visits her paternal muggle grandparents for a bit of catching up during some awkward conversation and coffee. A'Marie's allowed to go outside and wander and meets Hyang Lim, whom she thinks is a muggle but is really a witch staying in the muggle side of London. They find the park together and do some cloud watching before it rains, leaving the girls sad at the thought that they'd never see each other again. Complete.
On the Edge of Crying...Crying? Oh Noes! -A'Marie finds a lost wand outside Fortescue's ice cream place and discovers it to belong to Sabrina Humphrey, who is more than grateful for having it returned. Incomplete.
The Adventure Awaits -A'Marie shares a compartment with Rose Lewis, Lenna Lezzard, and Natalie Caspari. She breaks out her beloved sketch book to pass the time and discovers that the other girls actually like her work, however crude and horrible it seems to her. She ends up drawing a picture of them while they all decide what patronus each other should have. Complete.
Ready, Finally! -Deciding to explore the rest of the train (and outrun the obnoxious remarks of older students), A'Marie joins Bill Bishop's compartment and discovers just how much they have in common. They end up playing a game of gobstones and A'Marie wins (to her surprise). Incomplete.
A Wand of Wondrous Ways
-Her first trip to Ollivanders, shop assistant Clayton Jadyn helps A'Marie receives the wand she's been waiting years to hold. Complete.

Home away from home was not the idea of perfection A'Marie had thought it would be. Homesickness had plagued her for months and despite the hours of distractions she'd forced herself through, she'd still hide the tears that lulled her to sleep at night. Her wimpiness was finally geared towards other activities however, as she learned the art of dueling and that she she should never be allowed on a broom. She'd also discovered the art of studying, which hours upon hours of the art had led her to become a true Ravenerd and earned her an eternity of bragging by her parents. Dueling had led her to earn a few friends as well as showing others that no, she wasn't some kind of robot programmed to ruin class by getting perfect grades; she was just a geek who had nothing better to do.

[conversations of the heart]

Blue With a Touch of Bronze -It's the first day of term and A'Marie tries to relax in her dorm after meeting her roommates (and friends from the train), Rose Lewis and Lenna Lezzard. Complete (mostly).
With a Bowl of Rice -A'Marie's struggling with her Astronomy homework and accidentally trips Elias Frith so that he dumps his bowl of rice all over her. When things finally calm down, he offers to help with her homework, which a very reluctant yet grateful A'Marie accepts. Complete.
Where Are My Ickles? -A'Marie meets her mentors, Winter Von Wiederwasche and Karley Kristine, and co-mentee, Elias Frith, while trying to fight off the crowd of students in the Ravenclaw common room. Complete (mostly).
Astronomy Blues and Ink Bottles, Too -Wandering through the corridors after class, A'Marie runs into a very familiar face, Hyang Lim, the supposedly muggle girl she spent a day in the park with over the summer. After accepting the fact that they're both witches, they decide to hunt for the kitchens, even though neither really knows where the kitchens are. Complete.
Breakfast To Go -A'Marie finds a (supposedly) lost book and has a run in with Bill Bishop during breakfast. The two catch up on what they've missed since the Hogwarts Express. Incomplete.
Breakfast Blues -A'Marie's bummed about not having many friends, and tries to drown her sorrows with breakfast in the Great Hall. She meets Mayumi Bahaghari, who's having a similar problem and they discover they have much in common. Complete.
Beneath a Leaded Foot -Hyang Lim and A'Marie decide to hunt for the kitchens and find a slide from a secret passageway. The slide somehow causes them to land on a floor above them inside the Armor Gallery, where a mysterious knight approaches them...(continued from Astronomy Blues and Ink Bottles, Too) Complete.
Shh, People are studying -A'Marie and Elias Frith follow Winter Von Wiederwasche into the library for a tour of the castle by their mentors. Elias discovers an interesting security tactic for one section of the library and the group is surprised by what happens. Complete.
Let's Try Some of These Helmets On -Part Two of Mentor/Mentoring tour, led by Winter Von Wiederwasche and followed by A'Marie and Elias Frith, complete with vikings and sword fights. Incomplete.
Withered Sheets of Autumn -The leaves are finally falling off the trees and what does A'Marie do? Make a pile and play with them, until Alexa Lestero walks by and becomes victim to an unexpected leaf fight. Incomplete.
Do These Benches Come with Bumpers? -A'Marie and Mayumi Bahaghari decide to check out the dueling chamber for some noncompetitive fun, and A'Marie realizes what the true meaning of friendship is. (Continued from Breakfast Blues) Incomplete.
It's All in the Family -Finally some free time, and A'Marie gets a chance to work in her sketchbook and procrastinate on homework. She's greeted by James Potter who asks if she wants to help him practice quidditch, but she's deathly afraid of what he's holding... Incomplete.
My Secrets Are Lost! -Rushing out of the Potions classroom, A'Marie realizes that she's lost her sketchbook and is terrified that someone has stolen it to make a mockery of her. She runs into Tatiana Taylor who has also lost her notebook and the two discover that they've somehow taken each other's books. Complete.
Seize Today! -It's time to protest against fashion trends and thieves, so A'Marie takes a stand to alert her fellow students. No one seems interested in hearing though, until she captures the attention of Gwen Carlson, who apparently has fallen victim to her most unfortunate speech. Incomplete.
And the Chaos Reigns -A'Marie attends her very first ball and though she'd been planning the perfect entrance, she discovered too much falling apart in the process. First, she gets the wrong costume and has to arrive dressed as a potato knight, rather than a regular normalized knight. It was a good thing she had a helmet, or she would have never lived through the humiliation. Then something odd had happened and A'Marie had actually become a potato. Meeting Megan Maguire and Raven Ashcroft had sparked a sense of rivalry she'd yet to know and after nearly (accidentally) decapitating Megan's head with her sword, it had been a good thing the ball had ended when it had. Complete.
So Ronery -Without their mentors, Hogwarts has become a cold, dark place and Elias Frith and A'Marie decide to make their own mentors: out of pillows. Well, at least there'd be no lecturing or backtalking from them. They could always just pull off their pillowfied heads otherwise. Complete.

[conversations of the heart]

I Dare You to Move -A'Marie and Gemma Kortez bump into one another again over ice cream and decide to forget their worries by dragging one another through the shops of Diagon Alley. If only there weren't so many tourists around... Incomplete.
I've Been Traveling For Some Time -A'Marie and Megan Maguire run into each other at Diagon Alley and the sugar-hyped Gryffindor decides that the best remedy for catching up is a dish of ice cream. Too bad clumsy A'Marie makes trouble by nearly toppling on top of a newly ickle. Incomplete.
Keep Hanging On -Spending her days volunteering at St. Mungo's wasn't exactly how A'Marie imagined passing her summer, but it's the only way to ignore the chaos of a family feud back home. It's Ashen Aurora who ends up coming to her rescue, deciding a shopping trip and some lunch in muggle London is just the way to deal with pesky parents...A'Marie's, included. Complete.
My Sunshine -There's more than one way to get rid of parents, and using the knowledge she'd gained from her previous summer outings, A'Marie helps Jordan Taylor fiend off her step-mother while being forced to wear the most hideous dresses ever. Complete.
History's For The 'Birds' -A'Marie tutoring? She only managed to scrape the patience because making History fun, that was definitely worth it. If only she didn't have to drag James Potter through her tutoring with a play of fairy-tale characters. Incomplete.
Stripped My Identity -There's something not right about that Halloween Spin-the-Bottle game, especially when A'Marie realizes that kissing a girl isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. But does that actually mean something or is A'Marie overreacting to this strange discovery? A confession to her best friend Jordan Taylor reveals some unwanted discoveries of her own. Incomplete.
Don't Pass Me the Potatoes -An afternoon lunch with Gwen Carlson leaves A'Marie sour when the table mocks her fairy-tale gown. It had been for a good cause though, so why couldn't they just leave her alone? Incomplete.
The Search for Giordano -One evening while A'Marie and Gemma Kortez decide to waste some time outside, they notice a shadow in the distance that looks like a cauldron. Could Professor Giordano possibly be kidnapped by Death Eaters? Incomplete.
No Destination, She Drove for Miles -It's getting closer to finals and A'Marie joins Ashen Aurora for a study picnic on the lawn. It's supposed to be a time to catch up on their friendship, yet secrets pile up and A'Marie realizes she's going to have to confess her secrets sooner rather than later. Incomplete.
Facing It -A'Marie's never liked Hogsmeade; she just doesn't see why it's so exciting. So when Jordan Taylor finally coaxes her to join her for the last Hogsmeade trip of the year, she's not expecting excitement. She's also not expecting how to resolve the awkwardness of Jordan's confession the last time they met, nor the confession she has to make herself. Incomplete.
