Cameron Colquhoun
Specialised in Creature Induced Injuries

He had stood here before. Not only in this corner of the hall, with similar equipment and setup, but in this precise moment. This atmosphere of disarray and despair, the tension—it was all too familiar, pulling forth a memory from what felt like an eon ago. Cameron glanced at the student body; some figures cried in silence, others wept uninhibited; bodies huddled together sharing comfort while a few stood alone sombre. Their feelings propagated across the hall with the slight cross-breeze coming from the cracks in the sealed windows. He had seen what they had seen, he had felt what they had felt. He had been them, and now they would become him.

He thought about the one casualty an eon ago and the insensible tartare jokes that followed. He thought about lost but unforgotten lovers and his marrow scars. About the brother that wanted a full moon that was not cursed, and the girlfriend that shared the grief and burden. He thought about the girlfriend he himself had had, and the inconceivable ally in her new lover. He thought about the trusted solidarity of his friend and the platonic love and loyalty he forever felt for her.

The Earth continued to revolve resolutely, and Cameron strengthened his resolve to call his friends and family often, to say ‘I love you’ repeatedly and never have it lose its meaning.

Cameron tightened his runic headband and focused all his attention on healing the trauma that surrounded him. He had been them students, and now he would help them through this. After all, that is what adults were best fit to do: to deal with the aftermath rather than implement helpful preventive solutions.

______________

Part-time healer from St Mungo's here. Welcome, welcome!

This thread takes place in the Great Hall after the dust has settled, but is posted in this forum because of alumni posting rights.

If you were not already in this Safe Zone, you will have been escorted here. Especially if you've sustained any injuries during the werewolves' attack. Whatever your injury, or lack of it, you are very much welcome to post here. I don't bite like them werewolves. Promise. (Too soon? Sorry). It doesn't explicitly have to be creature induced, that's just my specialty. Please bold any injuries you have at the bottom of your post for proper treatment.

Jacquetta Rosewood

{continued from here}

Jacquetta hadn't gotten an answer in the Hufflepuff stands. She'd asked about @Willa Henry and the other students who weren't in the safe zone with her. No one seemed to know anything and that didn't bode well. She was worried about her friends. She considered all of her classmates friends. She already knew all of their names and houses. And what about Miss Twila? Was she okay? She had so many questions and no one had answers. It was frustrating. She didn't care about her own injuries. She had nothing compared to the rest of her classmates and Rayya, the auror, had put a numbing charm on her so she didn't even feel it.

So when the students were moved into the Great Hall, she got ready to look for her best friend and her classmates. She couldn't move all that much but she did her best to see into every corner of the room. There were too many people around, though, so she wasn't sure if anyone was there. Maybe they were still coming. Because they were all alive. They all had to be okay. She wouldn't be able to stand it otherwise. She had tried so hard to get them all help and had failed, no matter what Miss Rayya said.

The Hufflepuff was nudged towards a healing station and she nodded and did her best to hobble over. "Hi," she said, wondering what she was supposed to do. "I'm Jacquetta." She held out her broken arm, the bones poking through her skin. The sight was gross and she felt lightheaded looking at it. She dropped onto a bench and closed her eyes. "I just broke that arm a month ago," she admitted. "Can it be healed again?" What if breaking the same bones over and over made them impossible to heal? She nearly forgot about her chest and added, "My chest hurts, too."

{injuries}

-right arm broken with bones sticking out through the skin

-broken ribs

-internal bleeding

Robin Corelli-Rose

A living nightmare - that's what this was, and it didn't end when the wolves had howled their last. The lack of the obvious threat gave way to a different level of critical situation, with too many injured students and too few Healers. Confusion was rampant; his dad was still missing and Robin was beginning to feel woozy and nauseous from his injuries. Lindy wasn't looking much better - in fact, she looked too pale and wispy in the dark blue night air, and Pandora was out cold. Robin feared for her the most. No answers, no father, no comfort, no Kay and grief and fear all too palpable. He felt like he'd cried all his tears out and it had left him exhausted beyond words, but he still clung to @Lindy Rose and @Pandora Midnight with the last reserves of his strength and stared at the adult - Auror, Healer; he didn't know - that came to escort them back to the Great Hall.

The sensation of being shunted back and forth via magic left Robin feeling raw and sick.

The Hall was too bright. Robin squinted. His face th-thumped with the beat of his pulse and his mangled hand was pressed up against his chest. He had no idea what time it was.

It was a struggle to stand up, but Robin did, vision blacking for a moment, and in his loudest rasp begged, "Help. Please. My - " Lindy had called Pandora 'sister,' and she was never wrong. "My sisters need help. My... my sisters." Oh, so perhaps not all the tears were gone. Robin sank back to the floor. "My sisters were..." he sniffled, rocking forward. Salty tears slunk to the scratches on his face and his good hand shook when he reached to brush them off from under his eyes. "Please... I just want them to be okay."

***

Robin has werewolf-claw scars across his face - forehead, brow and across his nose

(and he's keepin' 'em - he just needs them cleaned and uh, to stop bleeding).

He also has a very broken right hand, at the wrist

@Jacquetta Rosewood

The man gulped when his first patient arrived; he hadn’t even set foot on Hogwarts when his friends and he had been tortured at the hands of Death-Eaters. She too must only be in her very first year at Hogwarts, judging by her size. It would shape her forever, too, but hopefully along a silver lining.

“Hello there, Jacquetta” he greeted with a smile. “Am Cameron, an’ ‘tis Mr Terzi who’ll be helpin’ me today. He’ll be helpin’ me explain the procedures as Ah take a look at ye. Would ye sit right ‘ere, please. Dornt ye worry, ye’ll be healed in na time.”

He lightly supported her arm with his hand under. The tip of his wand gave a faint white glow as he scanned the length of her arm and body: blunt trauma, non-cursed nature. Cameron sighed to himself. “Am gonna cast a spell now to help wi’ yer breathin’. Desititum Coire Visceris! Yer chest shuid feel lighter now. Take a few deep breaths for me, please. Very good!”

Mr Terzi took the reins on the conversation “We will give ye some Blood-Replenishing Potion ‘cause you were bleeding a little inside, but don’t worry. It’s all healed now.” The nurse handed her a small cup with enough crimson liquid inside to pose the dilemma of whether it was half empty or full. It was good that she already had a numbing charm. He took the cover of his colleague's talk; the protruding bone slowly slid back beneath the skin as Cameron circled over the wound with his wand.

Madam Hela was the first to receive the boy. “Mr Colquhoun!” she alarmed the healer and helped the boy to the only other bed at his station. Cameron's gaze landed on the new patient for just a second, but it was enough. “Clean an’ heal 'er arm, then administer a cup o’ Skele-Gro an’ anither four hours later, along wi' BRP.” Mr Terzi was hurriedly instructed as Cameron left Jacquelyn in his care.

________________

Internal bleeding was immediately stopped with Desititum Coire Visceris. This administrated bottle of Blood-Replenishing Potion contains vitamins, and it will replenish lost blood.

Protruding bone is back in its place. Wound has been disinfected and bandaged (Ferula). It will heal nicely without leaving any scars. Skele-Gro will heal your broken bones over time.

@Robin Corelli-Rose

Cameron discarded his surgical gloves and donned a new pair.

“Hey there, bud. Am Cameron, a healer. Dornt worry, Madam Hela ‘ere an’ Ah are gonna take guid care of ye. Yer gonna be juist fine. What’s yer name?” he stood hunched over the boy.

A Wizarding disinfectant flask stood used on the desk next to Madam Hela. She had already begun applying healing cloth strips along the gashes on the boy’s face when Cameron arrived. He lifted one to examine the wound as she briefed him. There were no bites, but the treatment remained the same.

He straightened his posture and took a silent deep breath.

Cameron moved his arm over Robin’s body. His wand was gripped tightly between his thumb and index finger, perpendicular to his open palm. The tip gave a reddish light as he hovered over his wrist. “Episkey.”

“Administer a bottle of Wiggenweld Zero an’ change the cloths in three quarters, an’ then again after seven quarters, thanks.”

“Ah hope yer na vegetarian. Yer gonna be lustin’ for rare steak from 'ere on.” Cameron commented facetious. That would be the only side-effect from this injury; that, the mauled face and the trauma of today that would haunt him beyond death. "Rest now." Tomorrow will come; but for now, be the child that you were yesterday and sleep well.

________________

Broken wrist has been healed (Episkey) and will leave no chronic injury.

The bleeding has been stopped with healing cloths drenched in a mixture of powdered silver and dittany-solution. The wounds on the face will heal but leave visible scar tissue. It's possible some wolfish tendencies may be developed, such as a preference for rare meat.

Wiggenweld Potion has been administrated for him to regain his strength but not potent to help him stay conscious. If he needs rest, he will sleep. If he can manage to stay awake on his own, super.

Pandora Midnight

A very dramatic post would have been put here if the child in question was awake. However, Pandora hasn't been conscious for a while now for a variety of reasons. She was with @Robin Corelli-Rose during the attack, and bless his heart, he never left her alone. @Lindy Rose had done her best to try and protect her and her brother but it just wasn't enough this time around.

*****

Pandora is unconscious.

May have bruising along her forehead from hitting the stone flooring hard.

She has a bite on her left shoulder.

Professor Corelli-Rose

When the cavalry Healers arrived at last, Arcite hopped up from his spot by Kay's side. He'd grown more and more concerned by the slur of her words and the pallid tone to her skin; there was only so much healing the Aurors could do.

His endeavour the grab the Healers' attention faltered when he spotted his own children back in the Great Hall, both Lindy and Robin staunchly clinging to consciousness and Pandora's limp form. He wanted desperately to run to them, to bring them close, but he couldn't add another broken promise to his already long list. "You'll be alright," he said, dipping down to Kay. "Okay, as you said," he added faintly. "The Healer's here and he's got Robin." Arcite stole a glance at his son. From his vantage point, the could see that his scars looked much better cleaned up...

Straightening, he raised his arm and waved, calling over, "Sorry, I can't move her until her arm's been patched with more than a spell - she's lost a lot of blood, I'm afraid she'll go into, uh, shock? I'm - I'm her uncle, and the father of those three." He couldn't - wouldn't single Pandora out at such a time as this.

Kay Wickham

Kay wasn't sure how long it had been, but she'd had her good fist clenched tight all the while, digging her blunt fingernails hard into the meat of her palm to stay alert. She wanted to make sure that when she saw her friends, she could smile and laugh it off. She needed to be conscious enough to reassure her dad, because if he saw her knocked out and bleeding, he might try and have her transferred to Pigfarts or Ilvermorny or something.

Her breaths were short and sharp, more like huffs and puffs, when Arcite finally leaned close to tell her that the healers had arrived and that Robin was with one. She grinned, a gritting of teeth that devolved into a grimace, and nodded. “O-okay,” she stuttered, struggling around the unresponsiveness of her own exhausted muscles once again. This wasn't the kind of heroic front she'd wanted to present, and for a moment she almost hoped her best friend didn't notice her here with his father.

Then the healer was approaching, and it was all Kay could do to keep from crying out for attention. Every inch of her was sore, and the bites had begun to bleed again, but she tried her best to greet the medi-wizard with a broad smile and a weak salute. “I'm Kay... nice to meetcha,” she managed.

Dislocated left shoulder.

Claw marks on the backs of her thighs.

Mud in her pants (don't ask).

A werewolf bite on her right bicep.

Mr Terzi had escorted @Jacquetta Rosewoodto sit on a cushioned charmed table bench that had been spared and left the girl with a Honeydukes candy of her choosing and a warming blanket. “I’ll be right here if you need anything, just let me know.” He kept as much of a watchful eye on her as the self-scribbling quill kept a watchful record of the patients.

@Pandora Midnight
Priority should have been the other way around, but while his colleagues treated the boy, Veli had levicorpused Pandora to the bed and begun treatment with silver and dittany—hopefully none of the Werewolf-wounded people would have a silver allergy. The bucket of water to his side had turned red by the time he was finished.

“This one’s been bitten.” Cameron was informed with gloom, standing across from the man. He performed his routine check-up procedure; “She has a concussion. Give ‘er a single concuss drop an’ a healin’ salve fur the bruise. Put ‘er on WigBRP Zero fur now an’ ‘en write 'er down fur CHP three times per day fur a week, an' BRP once a day fur two days. . She needs to rest fur now.”

@Professor Corelli-Rose | @Kay Wickham
Cameron upped his pace to a half-jog and met the professor. “Ye’ve done a great job, Professor” he reassured the man and summoned a mattress. “Lay ‘er down here. Madam Hela!” he turned to call. “’ Ye can check on yer kids if ye want. The boy’s condition is stable but he might be sleepin’. The girl… she’s unfortunately been bitten and is unconscious. She’s gonna be alright but we need to keep her here fur the night, both of ‘em. She needs all the rest she can get, she’s gonna have a rough night. Tis okay, Ah’ve got it now, thanks. Ye can go if ye want.” Cameron looked at him reassuringly.

“Hello Kay, ‘tis nice to meet ye too. Am Cameron. How are ye feelin’?” He smiled, although the question left a bitter taste on his lips. His own response to it would have been passive-aggressive within the frame of his mind, but finally pass through a politeness filter only to speak an echo of what he truly felt. “Madam Hela here is gonna clean yer wounds while Ah take a look at ye. Let us know if it hurts or ye have any questions, okay?”

“We’re gonna wrap a healin’ cloth around yer arm to heal the wound, okay? An’ the same thing on yer thigh. It will heal real nicely—There’s a lot of mud in her pants.—but will leave scars. Why do ye have mud in yer pants?” he found himself asking and threw the nurse a quick dubiety glance. “We’ll clean ‘at too, dornt worry. Stand right still now, Am gonna heal yer dislocated shuider. Episkey! Does ‘at feel better?” Madam Hela poured a third of a cup BRP, “Here, dear. It will replenish lost blood and return your strength.”

Lindy Rose

Lindy was still more than a little upset that they were being ushered yet again to another location. "She's hurt. Are you all blind?" she shouted, as they were magicked back to the Great Hall, where healing stations were set up. Lindy grumbled as people tried to usher her towards a certain one, pulling her arm out of their grip and keeping Pandora close to her as they tried to take her away. Absolutely not, not when everyone was being utterly useless.

Taking initiative, Lindy ushered both Robin and Pandora towards @Cameron Colquhoun, who looked helpful and not like anyone who had been a disappointment to the Hufflepuff at this current moment. She let the healers at their station do what they had to, hovering around the cots @Pandora Midnight and @Robin Corelli-Rose had been sat at like her mother used to do over her when she was ill. Lindy worried at her bottom lip, watching the Healer work from Robin to -- oh Merlin, @Jacquetta Rosewood?? Lindy balked at the fact that her mentee was one that had been caught in the attacks as well -- and then to Pandora, relief coursing through her as each of them slowly seemed to get better.

Lindy perked up when she saw @Professor Corelli-Rose come inside, her stomach dropping when she saw who was with him. "Kay," she whispered, her hands moving up to her mouth as she realized the girl was hurt. No, she was bitten, just like Pandora. Lindy had left @Kay Wickham, who was always so much braver and stronger than her, thinking that she would be fine and there was very adamant evidence that she absolutely wasn't. "Dad." The word came out strained as tears rimmed her eyes, the entirety of what happened tonight finally weighing in on her. She was the eldest. She was supposed to take care of them. She had failed, utterly and miserably. "Dad, I'm so sorry," she mumbled, running her hands through her hair. The blood from her own wounds and her siblings' wounds made the action difficult, fingers tangling in the remnants of her braids.

"I left her alone. And I-I couldn't -- she was so fast, I couldn't stop her. I'm so sorry," she whispered, sitting on one of the cots as she covered her cheeks with her hands. Robin was scarred for life. Kay and Panda were going to be werewolves forever. This was all her fault. "Dad, I'm so sorry," she repeated again and again, her body slumped now that the adrenaline and fear of gotta get them to safety wore off and was replaced with the dread and guilt of having failed at her one job of being the older sister.

- - - - - -

Lindy has a nasty werewolf claw gash on her chest stretching from her shoulder downwards, that is probably still bleeding (she has basically forgotten it's there in favor of making sure Panda and Robin get help) and a bruise forming on her head. She's also having a nervous breakdown over the events of tonight.

Jacquetta Rosewood

She was very stressed out over everything but at the moment, she was focusing on her arm. What if breaking it twice meant that it couldn’t be fixed? What would happen? She needed that arm! It sounded silly but she did. She didn’t know if she would be able to survive with only one. Would she have to give up fencing? If so, her life would be over. Fencing was a big part of her and, without it, she didn’t know what she would do. She might be able to duel with one hand but… no. It was her right arm. She used that one to hold her wand and right and drink and… everything. She couldn’t live without it!

Etta felt like she was going to explode from the stress but then she could breath better. And her arm was fixed. And she handed something to drink. Her eyes were wide as she wondered how it had been so easy. She quickly gulped down the potion (not even noticing the taste, which was probably for the better) and looked at the healer. She hadn’t noticed how he had looked before but now she realized that he was quite handsome.

A blush bloomed on her cheeks that matched her bright red hair. This was embarrassing. She had been worried about nothing when other students had been harmed much worse. She had been selfish and that was not okay. How could she have been so focused on herself? Her arm now bandaged, she was good to go. Or she thought so, at least. Looking at the other students around, she knew that she had made it out easy. The healer left and she was alone with the other man who wanted her to drink something else.

With a look towards the other patients, she took it and drank. Then she was taken to a bench where she was given candy and a warming blanket. She loved sweets and was happy to have something familiar. “Thank you,” she managed to get out before the man left her. She watched the adults around the Great Hall taking care of all of the injured and wondered if they would be quick enough, skilled enough, and brave enough to help them all.
