River Wolfe

Because it’s terror time again!

River Wolfe

It as nearing the castles curfew, which now, as River was aprefect was something he could ignore, then again, it was something he always did, but now, he didn’t have to worry about consequences.  Or, at least, not as much.

Not pleased that he had to patrol the forest, especially with Killian, River tried to make the best of the situation as he remembered that he managed to make the Slytherin laugh on the Hogwarts Express, but now, the Ravenclaw has nothing to say.  Or nothing good to say at the least.

Trying to think of something witty to say which he couldn’t, all River could do was just keep pace with Killian and awkwardly stare at the prefect.  That was until he tripped on an unearthed root, “Im good!”  He quickly sprang back on his feet breathing deeper than intended.

Killian Dracel

Ugh. The moment he saw the second week of patrol schedules, he wanted to find Damaris and cry on her shoulder--which he did, except it wasn't tears of sorrow, but rather tears of rage. And there were no tears because he was a man, and men don't cry. So really, it was just rage. And cursing. Loooooots of cursing. Perhaps he could ditch the Ravenclaw in the Forest somewhere and the oaf would get eaten by a werewolf or something.

Nope. Wait. Not a full moon.

Maybe an acromantula then.

He met River outside the castle and was bundled up in his heavy Slytherin cloak and scarf. Naturally he didn't wear a hat on his head because this hair took forever to style and even though it was dark out, he wasn't going to ruin perfection. "What the hell are you looking at?" he asked River, just seconds before the Ravenclaw tumbled to the forest bed.

Killian barked a laugh, and made no effort to extend a bare hand into the cool night air to help him up. "You're an idiot," he said, still laughing and wandering just a little deeper into the forest. He imagined no first year would venture further than this into the darkness. "What the hell is wrong with you, anyway? You know what, don't tell me. I don't give a--"

Rustling. In the bushes over there.

River Wolfe

“Oh, uh, nothing...”  A small bit of color came through River’s face as Killian called him an idiot, so much for thinking they were becoming friends, still, he had high hopes for the Slytherin maybe not in their pre-sorted days once River tried to wipe the dust off the other’s bum.

Hearing the rustling in the nearby bushes, River subcontiously gripped his bite mark and held out his wand and reacted for him.  Fear over took the fifth year as he was sure the werewolf that had bit him earlier in the summer had tracked him down and came back to finish him off,  standing, frozen in time, he watched the greenery burst into flames as he soon yelped realizing what he had done.

”Glebula!”

Hoping that snow balls would stop the fire, River looked to Killian once more in a feared expression.

Killian burst out laughing, unable to help himself when River over-reacted in fantastic fashion. "Oh man," he said, properly dousing the flames with some water. "You should have seen the look on your face, mate." Still laughing, Killian strolled along through the trees. He couldn't help it. River was just such an easy mark--even if he was trying to be more serious and brooding.

About that...

"What's wrong with you?" he asked, sobering just a little. "You're not as... annoying as you used to be." Which, coming from Killian, was high praise indeed.
