Avery Potter

Avery Potter was not all sweetness and light. She did not always stick to the rules set out in front of her, for she longed to break free from the persona that others created upon hearing she was a Potter placed into the house of the badger. The first year had spent the enter first term in getting used to the castle around her. She had spent time with her friends, she had learnt how to duel, she had attended lessons. Now the second term was upon her and she wanted to try and complete a search that she had dreamt off since she was a child and heard about her grandfathers’ adventures with his friends.

She had left a message for her cousin within the common room before sneaking away. Curfew would soon be approaching, though it was the best time of day for her to leave without being seen. The small first year crept into the clearing of the forest, looking around as she did so, almost worried that someone would jump out and ruin her careful made plans.

The story she had adored the most involved her grandfather, one of her great-uncles and a magical flying Ford Anglia that had crashed into the Whomping Willow. The rumour was that it had made home within the forbidden forest, seen again once or twice. She wanted to know whether it could still be located. She wanted to know whether, after all these years and two generations later, the car was still alive. Who better than to discover the truth than two of the Potters’ who resided within the castle?

She hadn’t told Alayna or Sonny what she had planned. Her eldest cousin was a prefect, and she didn’t want her brother placed into an awkward situation if someone questioned why he was hanging out with a random first year Hufflepuff. Instead, she would hopefully convince Desmond, and the Hufflepuffs could enter together.

600th post for cousin ❤️

Desmond Potter

Following the rules was something that Desmond never did at all, he was one that would find a way to be out at night and not do care what someone would say. He didn’t care that there was prefects around trying to make sure that he was doing the right thing. Most of the time he was out with Seeley anyway and he had not been caught, at least not yet, and one of his cousins was a prefect also.

Finding the note from her cousin, he smiled. It was nice having a cousin that was in the same house and someone that would want to see if the stories were true from their grandfather’s time at Hogwarts.

He didn’t know if anyone was going to be out and about when he went to meet his cousin, and with her wanting to meet at the forest, he knew what she wanted to see. The flying car, something that Desmond has not seen since he got to Hogwarts. Which was kind of sad, since he had been here for four years and had not seen the famous flying car.

Walking out there, his robe was about his head so no one would be able to tell it was him, and he went to find his cousin. “Avery!” He whisper as he walked closer the the edge of the forest and hoped that someone would be there and he wouldn’t be out there waiting for no one at all.

Avery Potter

The Hufflepuff did not have long to wait before he appeared. She had heard footsteps prior, hiding a little behind one of the trees in the shadows, before she realised it was Desmond. She knew that she would not be able to resist an investigation deep within the forest. It was an area that brought every single adventure minded student to its welcoming clearings just because of the simple word – forbidden.

“Desmond!” Avery exclaimed as she stepped from behind her tree. “You actually came.”

She knew that it was a little loud as she tried to quieten her voice. There was no honour in being caught before they even took a step into the forest. She pointed out her wand, as she nodded towards the forest. “I hope that we find it. It’s like a legend in our family. Think how amazed our brothers, sisters and cousins would be.”

Not to mentioned the amount of trouble they would be in if their parents or grandparents found out about it. She just hoped that everyone followed the unwritten family code – tell nothing to the adults. “Lumos.” Avery whispered, as her wand tip lit, and she took a pace. “Are you ready?”

Desmond Potter

Did his cousin not think that he was going to come, it wasn’t that hard to tall Desmond to meet after hours and he was going to be there. Breaking the rules was something that he enjoyed to do, and if he was able to go to the forest with his cousin, who wanted to go, why would he turn that down.

“Of course I did come.” He said as he finally saw her in view. It was nice knowing that she was there and that he didn’t walk out here at all.

Finding the car would be awesome, because it was something that was part of their family history. Knowing that their grandfather and great uncle(?) had flew the car to school. “I think they will be hocked that we were able to find it. Knowing that I have been here for four years and have not seen it, but I might not have been looking it the right places.” That was what he was thinking.

As they got closer, he pointed his wand. “Lumos, I am ready? Are you ready?” His cousin had a lot of adventure in her and that was something that he was liking. With noting being able to do anything with Anderson since he wanted people to not know who he was, Avery was someone that at least wanted to do adventures and Des was going to be there for her.
