Idina Iordanau

A white blank page and a swelling rage

Idina Iordanau

lyrics from White Blank Page by Mumford & Sons

continued from here

It was an odd sight to see a Ravenclaw crying within 20 feet of the library. It was an even odder sight to see a Ravenclaw who had just left the library crying while still within 20 feet of it. Idina was very confused and more than a little bit concerned as she took @Sophia Hunter over to some stairs that didn't shift, or at least she thought they didn't shift. Maybe they were the ones that shifted on Sundays at 2:00 am, though. It was honestly hard to be certain.

"Sophia..." Idina looked her classmate in the eyes, a moment of kindness passing through her own for a change. "What happened?" Was it an argument? A tournament issue with Ethan? Idina was undoubtedly proud of him for being selected as the Hufflepuff champion, as he was a brave and intelligent wizard who had proven himself worthy in many ways over the years. She knew several arguments had occurred as a result of certain people being selected and couldn't help but wonder if that was Sophia's concern.

Sophia Hunter

Sophia wanted to back up and run around the prefect but she could tell that Idina was not going to let hr go without some sort of explanation.  Maybe it was the sound of concern in her classmates voice that let Sophia be led to the stairs and sit there for a moment.  Hearing her name, she looked up and wiped tears with the back of her hand, not that they weren't immediately replaced with new ones.

"Sorry, Idina.  I didn't see you."  *insert sniffling here*

At the question of what happened.  The tears came faster.  "He....  Her....  In there...."  More tears.    More wiping with the back of her hand.

"It's ok, honestly, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," Idina replied. She'd been focused on getting away from the noisy library as quickly as possible. Everything had felt so much more crowded since she got released from the Hospital Wing a couple days earlier, but maybe that was because the Hospital Wing itself had been relatively quiet and empty in comparison to most places in the castle, even after the foreign delegations had arrived.

"You can take a moment if you need to, you know, to breathe," Idina offered as she dug through her bag. Maybe she had a tissue or something to offer, although she wasn't sure it'd do much good. She found a few cookies leftover from the ones Ethan had made her, although she was getting the sense that this was a sensitive topic. She pulled the bag out and wordlessly offered one to Sophia before taking on for herself. "Can you describe anything about her? Or what she did?"

In there clearly meant the library, so that piece of the puzzle was answered. But if Idina was going to help for once, she'd need to get at least a vague description.

Sophia Hunter

Sophia managed a hiccup and a cough and decided that perhaps Idina's suggestion to take a moment to breathe was a really good one.  No wonder the girl was made a prefect.  She thought about things like that.  At the sight of the cookies being offered, Sophia nodded and took one managing to mumble a 'thank you' out without bursting into tears.  It was probably a good thing that Idina did not explain where the cookies came from.

"She... He... Ethan.... They walked to the restricted section.  They," *more sniffling* "were sitting close and... And... some sort of party. . . "  Yep, you guessed it, more sniffling amid the crunch of cookie and tears welling up.   "He.... Kissed.... Herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"   Commence crying.
