Books are their own kind of magic

It seemed that, even though it was only the first couple of weeks into term, that they had been back at Hogwarts for months. The workload had tripled in size (pun intended) from the previous year to the current one, and Ryan was somehow surprised that she was keeping up. She was normally very organized, which helped her out in not falling behind; but the added elective, plus her Care of Magical Creatures internship, and then added onto that her rigid dueling schedule...the Third Year should have, technically, been drowning. But, even on top of that, the brunette had found time to keep her promise to Ethan. She was helping him prep for his O.W.L. examinations.

They had made a pact during their last duel before the summer that they would keep their weekly study sessions. The only stipulation was that Ryan had volunteered to help him prep for his examinations to keep that date. Which she was more than happy to do. Ryan loved helping others, and she loved studying. And she was incredibly fond of Ethan. It all went together brilliantly.

Entering the quiet room, Ryan waved to the stoic-looking librarian behind the desk, and then went looking for the Hufflepuff prefect. She found him eventually, tucked into a corner, his books spread over the entire table. Smiling, she walked over and sat down across from him. "Hey Ethan," she greeted in a whisper, "So, where should we start?"

This year was a lot busier for Ethan, not only did he have the internship with Sophia again, he had OWLs to study for and also prefect duties. Just something he wasn’t expecting at all, he was trying to find time to make it to the dueling chamber, which he was finding time when it came to his dueling mentees, but time for himself, he just couldn’t find it all the time. Spending more time in the library and his common room that he was expecting. But today, he promised Ryan today that it would be the day to study. Ethan was going to be helping her study, and at least once a month they would study for his OWLs.

He had no problem helping Ryan with her studies, but he couldn’t allow his studies to get behind also. These exams were the biggest exams that he has taken since he gotten to Hogwarts.

Walking into the library, Ethan had already sat down and had his Runes book open. It was one class that he was having a hard time understand. “Ryan, Hey. Just looking over Runes. This class is a lot harder than I thought it would be.” It didn’t help that his third year when he took the class, there was no professor and he wasn’t able to learn anything beside what he read in the book, and that made fourth year harder, and now fifth year it was almost like it was out of his hands.
