The ballet of the Bear!

Ivan Drogon

Ivan had no idea what ballet was. Let alone how to dance it, but Ivan Drogon would not be defeated by dance. He knew they had to gracefully and there was twirling and Stancing on your toes. He picked the great for this stage, because if he was to fail. He was going to fail grandly.

He waited till lunch for his performance, when he felt ready. He leaped in to action. He leaped with his legs as far apart from his he could. He felt like a gazelle jumping from bush to bush. It...however...looked more like a huge toad.

After the leap, the twirling started. Ivan started twirling on his toes, like an unstoppable, chubby top down the rows of the tables. Dancing his heart out!

Maggie mac Ruaidhri

Maggie was, for once, minding her own business at lunch, far more interested in enjoying the food than bothering any of her classmates. But when she saw Ivan leap on the other side of the Great Hall, she found her interest piqued and kept watching as she bit into part of a potato. Her interactions with the boy up until this point were limited to the classes they shared, but she was intrigued by whatever he was doing.

It was only when she caught sight of his feet that she realized he was trying to do ballet, and she found herself laughing in pure delight. It was just like when she first started training with her da and Nana Siobhan at the studio!  Maggie got to her feet, moving around the tables to where Ivan was.

"You're doing really good!" she told him. "But you've gotta be careful or you'll wear yourself out before you can get to the good parts!"

"You're doing great like that! Keep going," she encouraged with a giggle. He looked like he'd get extra dizzy at any moment!

Kaelyn Paddock

So she was getting a meal and a show today.  Sweet.

Kaelyn applauded politely.  "You have moves," she told the boy encouragingly after a couple first years gave him some feedback, thinking that was perhaps what he was looking for.  "But, um, maybe if we add in some music, it will help you work on like... not making everything look so heavy, you know?  Ballet is light and graceful!"  She took out her miniature gramophone, tugged the earphones out, and turned up the sound.  Pretty soon the Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy was pouring out of the horn.

Maggie mac Ruaidhri

Maggie's delight grew as she heard the music filling the Great Hall. The Nutcracker was a famous muggle ballet, and she'd seen many performances set to the tune of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Closing her eyes, she lifted her feet until she was en pointe.

With a little twirl, she began to dance, hardly missing a step as she moved along the aisle between the tables. For a moment, she forgot about where she was, lost in the joy she felt as she danced. The careful training she'd undergone with her da and Nana Siobhan returned to her, as if she hadn't been away from her family for any considerable length of time.

She was happy.

Ivan Drogon

Ivan stopped twirling finally and bowed his head, of course he was dizzy. All the voices were a bit of burr, not sure of what they were or what they were saying. As the heavy boy caughted his breath, he heard the music as the faded back into view and suddenly saw @Maggie mac Ruaidhri

Slow and graceful. A refined beauty to it, this has to be it. But Ivan could never something like. He was too meaty and she was moving like the way birds fly. She was so happy. Taken away by the music and so soaked in the moment of sweet grace.

He wanted to join in, moving like the swans and birds he adored. So he mimicked her, not attacking the movement so hard, allowing himself to flow. He was still too....awkward and slow, but..Ivan had always felt heavy. For once, he felt light.

Alvis Anderson

Just coming out of the duelling chamber after a good session or two, Alvis was heading to the great hall for a slap up meal! Still in his warm up / down robes he sung the doors of the hall open and he heard Music! He stood still at the doors watching a great Ballet performance by Maggie whom he met in the Library the other day, then there was Ivan!

Ivan wouldn't be Alvis' first choice for a ballet dancer but he was giving it his best and he wasn't that bad for a big guy! ''WWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! You go guys!'' How ever Alvis wasn't one for ballet but he thought he might give it a go, he strutted along the tables to meet the dancing pair and he limbered up before he spotted @Kaelyn Paddock, the older Gryffindor girl @Addison Toft had been talking about. He strutted over to her and began his duelling spiel,

''Howdy doodley do! Alvis Anderson, the stylin' n' profilin', broom flyin' and Duelling line makin' son of a Gryffindor!'' he held out a hand to shake hers and carried on looking at the ballet.

If Kaelyn was taken back by Alvis’s jovial greeting, she got over it quickly.  The older girl grinned widely as she returned his handshake.  “Hey, what do you know?  I’m into all those things too - styling, broom flying, dueling.  Welcome to Gryffindor, kid.  What's your name?”

Addison Toft

From her spot at the Gryffindor table, Addison watched Ivan's dance, and raised a scorecard.

WOW! This girl knew how to turn things around quick! She must be alright Alvis thought to himself. ''Alvis! Alvis Anderson me girl!'' he then spotted @Addison Toft holding up a score card for Ivan and it was quit a high score. ''Well done Ivan!''

He went back to his conversation with @Kaelyn Paddock ''so you like flying? What about Quidditch? I've only just found out about it and I love it!''

Ivan Drogon

After more dancing, he trying to be graceful as the girl. He was no where near as good at it as her. But he had to try, the show musted go now. He still watched, he wished he could just watch her. He started to feel a weird feeling, a bubbling in his gut. Like butterfly’s started to fill it and fly about his stomach. He did not like it.

After that. He decisioned it was stop to the dancing. He stomped his right feet and posed as grandly as he could for the watchers. He bowed hugely and then he saw this his score. He knew he could do better then a 9.3. He pointed outward and posed confidently “Next time, Ivan will get a 10!”

“I love flying,” Kaelyn corrected.  Like and love were two very different feelings in her book.  “And yeah, quidditch too, I’m on the team.  Are you going to try out?”

She looked between Ivan and Addison’s scorecard.  “That’s the spirit, Ivan! Feel the music!"  She turned up the volume on her miniature gramophone a little.
