In the end, you always go back to the people you were with in the beginning

Jacky was a little unhappy he had to come back to Hogwarts after the Christmas break. Though he was strictly stuck with his family up in an isolated area in the lake district, it had been a great one. At home he was friends with everyone not everyone laughed at him or called him dumb. Well his sister did sometimes, but he ignored her.

He had barely cried when his Mumma had deposited him onto the train. He had wanted to, he just hadn't this time. He was getting better at holding it in he supposed.

After avoiding groups of students here and there, he had made his way to almost the end of the train. There he had been delighted to find an empty compartment. He pulled his bobble hat off, stuffing it in his bag and then throwing that in the corner of the compartment. He decided he'd settle in and enjoy the long but comfortable ride to Hogwarts. Maybe he'd send one of those wicked lil memos to Arabella or Maggie and ask them if they wanted to come and play.

Kaleb Kennedy

The Gryffindor had noticed him first. He watched as Jack made his way all the way to the end of the train. Kaleb stared in Jack's direction, the confusion clear in his face. The Gryffindor boy wanted to follow and see why Jack was avoiding the whole year, but there was something interesting going on in this random compartment. A couple of fourth years had bet each other that they could drink a pint of some smuggled Butterbeer the fastest.

Kaleb didn't want to miss this, especially since it somehow became Gryffindor vs Slytherin vs Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff. Knocking on Jack's compartment door, Kaleb spoke quickly. "Jack, come see, a bunch of fourth years are doing a chugging contest. Come quick!" Kaleb encouraged, running back up a few compartments to where the action was.

Arabella Jones

After spending the entire holiday season at home, Arabella had thought coming back to Hogwarts would be the worst thing to happen to her. However, she had successfully managed to avoid her father and his new girlfriend; they had a big enough house for Arabella to seclude herself in her bedroom and not run into either of them the whole time.

It was for this reason only that she found herself actually eager to get back to the castle.

”Jacky!” She said, smiling, as she walked by an open compartment door. She had been looking for someone to ride the train with, so this was perfect. It was at that moment that she noticed Kaleb standing there, supposedly talking to to the Hufflepuff. “Uh, Kaleb, hey,” she said. Well, this was awkward.
