Candy cures all obviously

The holiday break had been for the lack of a better term, interesting. There was that entire situation that happened at the Dracel Manor that lead to a fight, a broken, nose, some ripped out hair, and some definite issues that were going to happen during the next quidditch game. All-in-all, the break could not have have gone any worse, but luckily for her some good things did come out of it.

She knew exactly where she thought she stood with Killian and knew that it was definitely better than the standing that Damaris had with him. That and one morning she had woken up, looked in the mirror, and couldn’t help but smile. On the train ride back to Hogwarts, Havana had made a quick stop in Hogsmeade and walked into the candy shop and bought a couple dozen of items before finding her way back to the Hogwarts castle grounds.

The snow had freshly fallen the night before giving the grounds a smooth untouched look as she made her way towards the castle door. Sure, the weather was chilly, but everything was going to make it all better when she saw Killian. What was he to her? Was he just some friend whom she met one night down in the common room? Was he more? If he was more than just the friend, what was her?

She entered the castle and to her surprise Killian was standing in the main hall corridor by the castle door. To Havana’s embarrassment the first word that slipped out her mouth was:

“Boyfriend.”

Killian Dracel

Merlin's beard, he was glad it was over. The holidays had been interesting to say the least, and definitely couldn't have been any worse. His two friends had gone at each other like cats, hissing with their claws out. Honestly, he had to admit he kind of liked it, but at the same time it was bloody Christmas and they made a mockery of it in his own house. Some things just couldn't be excused, y'know?

Killian didn't give a flying bludger if the two of them continued to fight. His mantra would always be the same--do not get involved. As long as they didn't drag him into whatever their feud was, he didn't care. And if they did, then they were going to find themselves on the wrong side of him. He was neutral ground. Except when it came to @Kaleb Kennedy and @Damaris Denton. It was no man's land where that tosser was concerned.

Damaris had gone off with Cap after they arrived at the castle, and that left Killian alone (because who knew where @Everly Cantrell was?). He was looking at the house points glasses and taking in the totals and just how far Slytherin was going to have to climb in order to come out on top. Lame.

The door opened and in stepped Havana with the most surprising word escaping her. Boyfriend. Killian still hadn't changed into his Hogwarts uniform. Instead, he was wearing a solid black suit and tie that completely made his blond hair pop. "The things that can happen without my knowledge," he mused. "Pretty sure there needs to be some kissing happening for that to be a thing, though." Cue the smile and pearly whites. He gestured to the goodies in her hand. "Is this your attempt to give me a love potion?"

Did she really just call him boyfriend?

She couldn’t wrap her head around the word that had just escaped her mouth. There wasn’t much of anything that had made her think that perhaps Killian was indeed her boyfriend. Luckily, Killian had seemingly diffused the situation as he pointed out the candy that was in her hand. She smirked and laughed off the awkwardness of the situation.

“Love potion?” she rolled her eyes, “do you think I’m that desperate?”

She stared towards him and then placed the candy out towards Killian, “Do you want a fizzing whizzbee, Killian?”

"Well, I mean... you did punch @Damaris Denton in the face and broke her nose, so..." he gave her a wry grin. "You popped her real good, too." The memory was so vivid, as was his initial anger. The disrespect in his house had been clear. Though they may have been fighting over something stupidly random (and not him... though, seriously... why not him?), they could have saved it for another place, another time.

"If you were thinking of giving me one of those potions, though, I just might have to take it." He had no idea where those words were coming from, but he certainly couldn't stop them once they had left his lips.

He looked down at the offered fizzing whizzbee, only slightly surprised by the offer. "Is this one of those... when I reach for it, you'll  yank it away sort of things? Because that would be just... mean." Killian reached out for it anyway, because he really did want one.

Killian did not need to know that they were potentially fighting over him in his own house. Though, he did seem to recall that she had a wicked left hand, and that may just be because she was left handed. You know what they say, right? Left-handed people are the devil? Or maybe that’s only true in Havana’s case.

He then started talking about taking a love potion if it was offered? Was this the same Killian she talked to seemingly all night in the common room prior to quidditch and classes starting back up during the first term? This definitely didn’t seem like the same boy, but then again she didn’t look like the same girl from that previous term.

She had changed in a few different ways as her face seemed to round a bit more and she was looking more mature as she held the fizzing whizbees out in her hand, “If you don’t want them, then I’ll just keep them for myself, obviously.”

She stuck her tongue out in jest at the thirteen-year-old boy standing in front of her, “G’on, take one Killian.”

Peeves

Fizzing whizzbees and boyfriend? In almost the same sentence? Out from one mouth?

He was interested.

Interested in enough to burst out singing. He wished he had Shak's voice but oh well...he wasn't perfect.

"Love is in the aaaaaaaaaaaaair...every way i like aroooooooooound

Love is in the aaaaaaaaaaaaaaair every sight and every souuuuuuund

Killian to eaaaaaaat the whizzbeeeeeeeeeeees

and miss Towne off to the mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon

Oh oh OH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Killian was definitely more mature for his age, but he was still pretty damn hawt. He knew it, and he shamelessly nurtured it. He had a perfect row of teeth, and a lovely set of blue eyes, and didn't he have just the perfect face? He totally did. Oh, and Killian was also left handed. #thingsincommon

He looked at her with an eyebrow raised. "No, no, I want one," he said, before she could take them away from him. Heck, if she laced them, he wasn't even going to care about it. All he knew was that he enjoyed spending time with her, and talking to her, and it didn't happen often enough.

There was something in the way she was offering them to him, though. It was almost like it was a dare. Hot damn. And he was definitely interested. Bloody hell. Just as he reached out to take one, Peeves arrived on the scene and Killian glanced up at him. "Love is not in the air!" he shouted back at the poltergeist. "We haven't even kissed yet!"

Hastily, he grabbed a fizzing whizbee from Havana and glared up at Peeves for a second before turning back to Havana. "Anyway.... he sure knows how to ruin a moment, doesn't he?" Killian muttered.

The two of them were sharing somewhat of a moment; albeit it was a moment over candy until Peeves appeared out of nowhere and started singing. If it wasn’t for the fact that Havana had known that Peeves was a strange little poltergeist who liked to cause problems, she’d probably have tried to set him on fire. Though, that probably wouldn’t have worked very well seeing as Peeves was not a corporeal being, but rather just a floating spirit.

“Moment?” she eyed the blonde Slytherin taken aback by him calling it a moment because she hadn’t exactly thought that it was a moment.

“What exactly was going to be happening here?” her heart had started racing a little bit thinking that perhaps Killian had felt the same thing she felt after the two had talked in the common room last term, or maybe he had always felt it from the moment they had first met after his sorting?

Did she always feel like this? She looked up towards the poltergeist and then back towards Killian and smirked, “If he thinks love is in the air, and we haven’t kissed yet. Let’s give him something to sing about.”

She leaned in and kissed Killian.

"What?" he asked, unsure of why she looked so much like a deer caught in headlights. It was a moment, wasn't it? It was fun, and lighthearted, and he was getting a piece of candy out of it... And honestly, he was enjoying this little back and forth he was having with her. It was a completely different side to her from that day he was sorted and she came off like a royal bi--. Well, anyway... he'd been fascinated by her then, and he was still fascinated by her now. She had layers, just like he did.

He had no real answer to her very pointed question. Yeah, he kinda wanted to give her a kiss, but she could flip on him so easily, so he was playing his cards right--or at least he thought he was until Peeves showed up like the tosser he was. His cheeks had gone brilliant red, and he looked down at his feet shuffling a pebble. "Well, I mean... I uh..." Nope, got nothing.

It took a second for her next words to register, and when they did, he looked up in time for her to lean in and press her lips against his. Whoa! Electric! He kissed her back, of course. And, he had been practicing. "I think," he said, licking his lips once, "that earns me the whole bag of candy." Okay, all teasing aside, he smiled pleasantly at her.

"So, let's go back to that boyfriend thing you said earlier. I can be, if you want me to be."

She had definitely just kissed Killian and he kissed her back. She couldn’t have believed it if one where to tell her this was how her second term would’ve started. She was kissing Killian Dracel in front of Peeves and accidentally called him boyfriend. At least, this wasn’t some awkward thing like her last relationship with @Grayden Payne .

No, this definitely seemed different.

“If you want too,” she smiled towards the younger Slytherin. It wasn’t as if she had been accidentally kissed by him after he entered the wrong bathroom and had thought that there were staring dates. To be fair to Grayden though, Havana had also thought those were what a date was, but she had learned much more since her weird encounter with the Ravenclaw last year.

“Sure. Definitely.”
