The walk from their dorm room, to the common room, to the kitchen, to Great Hall felt longer than it should have been.

"You can let go of my hand." The Badger spoke flushed. "It's not going anywhere you know."

Honestly, he wasn't complaining.

He didn't know that he was still holding on to his hand. "Oh, I am sorry. I didn't know I still had it. You promise that you are not going to go anywhere?" Ethan was worried he would run off again and that he would have to go find him.

A small tinge of disappointment invaded Dafydd's stomach as Ethan let go of his hand while giving his apologies. A small smiled appeared on the boy's face as Ethan spoke of him running off.

"How could I go anywhere with a grip that tight?"

He laughed, he didn't know he was holding on tight. This boy was his best friend. He needed his best friend around. "I just didn't want to lose you, that is all." He said with a smile, walking over the the Hufflepuff table and started to get some food.

It wasn't like Ethan needed a map that could tell him where Dafydd's every whereabouts were. All Ethan had to do was look in front of him, and Dafydd would always be there.

"Ethan, we had a fight, it doesn't mean we're not going to see each other."

A fight Dafydd started over his stupid ignorance.

They did have a fight, but he was used to people fighting him and then leaving him. So having a best friend was still new to him. "That doesn't mean you wouldn't leave. Some fights end up with people leaving." He knew that first hand, he was just trying not to let it get to him. The friends that he has here, they were the only friends he really had. He didn't have any back home.

Ethan clearly didn't understand Dafydd, they were friends, and that meant that they were friends for life. No matter what the circumstances. "Ethan," The Badger spoke to the other, this time he took Ethan's hand while looking deep in his friend's vibrant green eyes.

"We had a fight." Stating the obvious, "Loads of people have them, but we're mates, and I'm not going to lose you over something silly." His words were right, especially since he was the one who caused the fight.

Having friends was hard work. At least for Ethan it was, almost losing London as a friend twice and thinking he was going to lose Dafydd. "I understand it now. I will never lose you, and you will never lose me." He said with a smile as he was eating more food. He needed energy when it came to dueling.

Smiling as he let the boy's hand go, "Mates, don't let other mates go." It was then Dafydd probably witnessed something that he didn't, and possibly never wanted to see ever again. And that was Ethan devouring his food.

"Uh, Ethan?" The boy spoke to his friend, "Carnivores still need to chew their food."

"That is a good thing." He said with a mouth full of food, he was hungry and wanted to eat. Was there a problem with that. As he was eating and not really crewing at all, he went to say something to Dayfdd but he couldn't. He was coughing a lot and was having trouble breathing. Well this is not great.

"Ethan, chew your food!" It was too late, his friend was already choking, and this was a problem. Standing as he rushed to his friends back, he could see the colour in Ethan's face starting to fade. Wrapping his arms around Ethan's torso, Dafydd struggled to get the boy to stand as he performed the Heimlich manoeuvre.

Pushing Ethan's body more and more close to his own, Dafydd continued to plunge his firsts into Ethan's abdomen. "C'mon Ethan!" Dafydd spoke feeling his hot sticky breath cling to Ethan's neck "Stay with me!"

Maybe he should have chewed his food a little more, he wouldn’t be sitting here feeling like he was going to die. Then before he knew it, Dafydd was doing something to him, he could feel the food coming back up and he was able to spit it out. He was able to feel his breath, that was hot, and telling him to stay with him. “Ahhh I can breathe again. Thank you.” He told his friend, it was a good thing that he was here. “Maybe I should chew my food a little more.” He said with a laugh, that is what he was going to have to do. Laugh it all off.

A little more? Was Ethan serious? He figured he should chew a little more? That had struck a nerve with Dafydd as he just witnessed his best friend almost die.

"You think?" The second year spoke quite bluntly "Do you just act on impulse now?"

So he didn’t chew his food all the way, it is what happens when he is hungry and needs food. After all he was looking for Dafydd and didn’t get a chance to eat before. He needed his energy, so he would be able to duel more. “I think maybe, I was hungry and the food was so good.” He told his friend, giving him a look. But he was thankful that he was there. “I don’t act on impulse. I just act.”
