Glitterbomb

Finally. He was finally happy. Ariel had found his people, and it turned out the sorting hat was wrong, they weren't up in the Ravenclaw tower at all. They were down in the dungeons.

He couldn't remember why he'd been down there now, only that they'd grabbed him along with a bunch of other people whose robes were more green than his, and informed them that they were playing a game called "Dare or Dare".

He could live with this. Ariel was used to Truth or Dare, and to be honest, he usually found it boring. The truths were predictable "who do you looooove?" the dares were weak "I dare you to kiss so-and-so."

It turned out Dare or Dare wasn't like that at all. When it came to his turn, he was told to sneak into a professor's office and steal all their glitter. Ariel's mind rebelled at that. On one hand, who was this so-called professor, and who did they think they were teaching; nine year olds? On the other.... He really did like sparkly things.

Now, he was standing in front of the Headmistress' office. One of the older students had shown him how to cast the sticking spell on the door, and he took a handful of glitter to throw after it.

Nearly all of it landed at his feet.

Well that just wouldn't do. Ariel knelt at the door and began gathering up as much as he could, to smear on the door properly.

Smear.

On the door.

With the sticking charm...

Finalllly!! Someone understood her on a decoration level. Maxine believed that everything needed shimmer. She didn't bother with the matte eyeshadow shades. Oh no, her eyeshadows needed to have some shimmer to them. Maxine always believed in a pop of bling. "It's about time someone redecorated around here!"

And someone may have been asking 'wow isnt Max supposed to take points from rule breaks?' yep she was and she didn't care.

Glitter was a girl's best friend - Rowan tended to carry it loose inside the pockets of her robes. You never knew when someone needed a little extra sparkle. Hint: they always needed it. She was rolling down the hallway, her gold Heeley's shimmered in the torch light, when she spotted a half-way familiar face. Had she seen it before or did he just have one of those faces?

She came to a stop in front of him, a mess of glitter, and the professor's door. The boy's shoes and hands were covered in the stuff. That was a terrible look. "You really need better aim," She said with a grin. She shoved both of her hands into her pockets and threw two handfuls of holographic glitter onto him, "There much better." Then she was off.

"Looks like you're in a bit of a...sticky situation." Cue sunglasses sliding onto his face while someone screamed in the distance. "Sucks to be you. Maybe you should leave the glitter to the chicks."

And he was off as quickly as he appeared.

Abigail had missed the game of Dare or Dare the Slytherins had started, but she was more than pleased when she caught sight of some of its reapings.

Glitter. All over the headmistress' door. She stepped back a little, admiring the handiwork with her arms crossed. "If I could give points, I'd give five for the craftsmanship," she said casually, a pleased hum escaping her before she continued on her way around the castle. Wreaking havoc. And doing stuff. And things.

A lot of people needed to see the Headmistress. Or see her door. Or... maybe the kid who'd taught him the sticking charm had spread the news of what was going to happen. Ariel could only hope that wasn't the case. Before long, some teacher, or the Headmistress herself, would come up here and find him stuck to the door.

"Hey!" He said to the girl who'd complimented his redecorating skills. "Can you, like, help me?"

He gestured at his stuck hand with the free one.

Abby paused at the kid's question, tilting her head as she realized what he was gesturing at. "How'd you manage that, kid?" she asked, unable to stop the laughing fit she put herself into when she realized he'd stuck himself to the door. "It's called a sticking charm for a reason, y'know," she added, teasing now. She had every intention of helping, sure, but not without a bit of teasing. Because as an upperclassmen, that's what she was allowed to do, right?

"Uh, y'know..."

Ariel gestured to the glitter all around.

"Jus' wanted to get it properly on there."

And yeah, maybe he forgot it was a spell rather than glue.

about posting and actually did on time.
i do hate an unfinished thread.

"Right, 'course. Might be smarter to keep your hands off the project next time," Abby teased, pulling her wand out of her pocket and waving it over the boy's hand. "Finite. There all better," she said with a grin before reaching out to ruffle the boy's hair. "Take care, kid.
