Virtual Hogwarts > The Third Floor > Trophy Room
Cassandra Murray
It was Valentine's Day. It was a day that so many people loved and wanted to celebrate. Cassandra was only 12, so she really didn't care about the holiday one way or another. She did know it had been her father's favorite holiday though. Today, she'd go pay him tribute and just spend the day with him. At least, the one way she could.

She walked up to the Trophy Room and over to the Slytherin case. There were trophies from her father on the Quidditch Team and from being Head Boy. There was even a huge picture of him on the wall holding the House Cup his last year at Hogwarts. He had earned 2000 points by himself for Slytherin House. Cassandra looked at the picture. He was a handsome man, tall and red haired, smiling down. "Hi dad. It's Valentine's Day 2024. You've been gone 10 years, but not a day goes by that I don't think about you. We'll be connected again soon." She looked up at him.

For many years, she thought her father was dead. Recently though, she found out that he had in fact been living in Dublin, but his memory had been wiped clean. He remembers nothing of his Magical life. Cassandra tried contacting him a few times, but to no avail. Hopefully, soon, she'd get a letter from him. She smiled up at him. "I love you Daddy." Her weak smile let the world know she was holding back tears.

Dani enjoyed the rare times she was able to get into the Trophy Room. It was those rare times in which she could think things over.

Dani was having a mental argument at the moment as she arrived inside the room. I should get back with Rube. she told herself. No, I can't. These things were flowing through her brain.

As she argued she heard a small voice. Snapping out of it she saw Cassandra Murray. Poor Cass. Mark wasn't with her on Valentine's day.

Walking over to her best friend she gave her a smile. "Hey Cass." she said softly. "You okay?"

Cassandra snapped out of her thoughts for a moment and realized that Dani was standing there next to her. Dani, her good friend. They had been through so much together, but it was nice to still have her as a friend, despite it all. Cassandra smiled weakly. "Hi Dani. Sorry, just thinking about my father today. That's him up there." She gestured to the picture of him on the wall holding the House Cup. "Valentine's Day was his favorite holiday. He loved having a special day of the year to show people what they meant to him."

Her father had been an amazing man, one of the best Wizards of his time. Though he pushed that aside to live as normal of a life as he could. Unfortunately, that never happened. Cassandra longed to know her father and to be near to him, though she couldn't forsee that happening anytime soon. She sighed and looked at Dani. "How is your Valentine's Day going?"

Dani looked up at the red-haired man that reminded her of Cass' cousin, Ivan. Family resemblance maybe. He was holding a House Cup and Dani knew that this made Cass happy.

"My Valentine's has been horrible." she said glumly. "Yours?"

Dani wished she had Rube beside her, but she had a reason she broke up with him. She was too young. Dating was for oder people. She had her whole life for it. Suddenly, she regretted everything she had doe with Rube. The picnic, the concert, everything. She just felt horrible all together which reflected on how her day was going.

(OOC: Must say, I love your siggy and avatar. Did you make them? Also, you know the post where you told me you and Rube broke up? That was in April when it took place. I think you would've been together on V-Day, not sure though. smile.gif)

Cassandra wondered if Dani noticed that her father looked like Ivan. It made Cassandra wonder sometimes. Ivan was 9yrs younger than the youngest of his three siblings. He looked nothing like anyone else in his family. Perhaps...no it couldn't be. There is no way Ivan was her brother. Or was he? That was something she'd look into later. No way was she related to that person.

Then Dani mentioned having had a horrible Valentine's Day. Cassandra walked over and hugged her friend. "Why was it so horrible? I thought you would enjoy it. You were really looking forward to Valentine's Day." She had remembered Dani being really excited about it. Hopefully nothing bad had happened. As far as she knew, Rube and Dani were still together, weren't they?
