Virtual Hogwarts > The Towers > Astronomy Tower
Cassandra Murray
Cassandra made her way up to the Astronomy Tower. This had become her favorite place in such a short amount of time. It was beautiful and quiet up there, plus she enjoyed beautiful views. It was about 6:30, dinner was over and she had nothing to do for a few hours until bed. In fact, she was kind of lonely.

She set her telescoped up, and pointed her wand at it. "Tulilatum" she said, as the telescope moved into focus. She loved Professor Ozark and thought he was a great teacher, but above all else, she loved looking at the stars and planets.

There was another world out there, one Cassandra so desperately wanted to be a part of. Every time she looked out the window and saw the beautiful view, all sadness within her disappeared. She always searched for the constellation Aquila when she was sad or lonely, she'd been doing this for years. She had no idea someday it would mean something. She sat down, Astronomy book by her side and was just about to relax when she heard footsteps. "Hello?" she called, as the figure came clearer into view.
Annie Jones
School was a stressful for place for Annie. She had gotten through her first year without any problems and even passed every class with great grade. Extraordinary if you wanted to say. But these days, Annie wanted more. Classes and Qiud was just the basics. Annie wasn't sure just how she was going to manage with so much work. She was lying in her bed with Snowflake on the pillow next to her just thinking. Sometimes it was always a strain to get everything done. To be pretty good at what she did. But she remembered one thing. The craziness of her professors last year. Professor Grimsby with his Potions humor. Professor Willoughby and the fear he instilled into her and her classmates by letting out the Pixies. Cornish Pixies at that. And of course Professor Ozark and his randomness.

Sitting up in her bed, she looked at her sleeping pet and slid off her bed. She was going to go to the Astronomy tower. If she wasn't mistaking, she wouldn't have Astronomy again until next term. But she missed the late night class and being able to look up at the sky and star gaze. And even daydream. Which was her specialty. Sliding into her shoes, Annie decided that she was going to pay the tower a little visit. So what if it was a million light years away and she had to go through hell and back to get there and back to her common room. But she was bored enough to do it. Walking towards the tower, Annie thought about the millions of things that came with the long walk. One of them being how sore it always made her.

Walking into the tower, she heard someone else. "Probably just a house elf" she thought to herself as she moved closer to the window. That was until the voice called out. "Great. Another ickle" she thought to herself. "I didn't mean to startle you" she called out walking closer. The First Years were always so easily scared. But she knew that feeling. She was easily intimidated by the older students last year. "I just came to live in my first year past a bit" she joked.
Cassandra Murray
As the figure came closer, Cassandra noticed it was a girl about her age, maybe a little older. "Hi," she spoke. "You didn't startle me persay, I guess I'm surprised to see someone else up here. It's a lovely night, so I guess I shouldn't be as surprised as I am." She laughed, looking out the window real quick.

It wasn't quite dark yet, but was starting to become dusk. She could see the sun starting to set from a ways off. Cassandra smiled. This girl, she was truly a wonder to behold. Cassandra thought she was beautiful. And she was Hufflepuff. How wonderful! She didn't have many friends in Hufflepuff. She patted the cushion next to her. "Come sit down. I'm Cassandra by the way, you are?" she said softly. "What are you doing up here on this beautiful night? Come to see the stars as well?"
Annie Jones
That was a relief. Annie didn't scare the poor girl. She was right. It was a lovely night. "Yeah. Pretty clear out. You can see all the stars" she said moving closer to the window next to the blonde's. Annie stared out at the blue sky as it turned pink and remembered her late nights as an ickle and walking the long walk to take Astronomy. Now she had to wait until next term. Which was a bummer. Moving a little closer, Annie sat in the window. "I'm Annie." she told her. "Second Year Hufflepuff." she added. "I just came to relive my first year." she joked. "Seriously. I just came to look at the sky. It's better from the Astronomy Tower as the sun sets." she said looking out the window.

"Any particular reason you're up here?" she asked. "Don't want you in trouble if your caught after curfew. Which I don't know when it is" she said leaning against the wall.
Cassandra Murray
Cassandra smiled. "Curfew is at 9; it's about 6:30 now. I think we'll be good for a bit. Nice to meet you Annie." She was happy the girl seemed nice. Many people she met lately didn't seem that nice and it kind of bothered Cassandra. She understood now why her father hated magic. She sighed.

Then she remembered Annie's question. "I'm here to look at the stars and maybe get some extra credit for class. I look to the stars all the time. Astronomy has been one of my hobbies for as long as I can remember. Which leads me to my next question. What do you like to do for fun?" Cassandra reached into her satchel and pulled out a blue ribbon to tie her hair back, waiting on Annie's response.
