It was not entertaining lounging about the Slytherin common room all day every day, despite what some may lead others to believe. This was particularly true for First Years who were the lowest of low on the Slytherin hierarchy and as such seemed to be seen as a pestulence infesting the place. Often he'd be seated somewhere only to be told to move so an older student could take his place and it did nothing to endear the school or its inhabitants to the aloof twelve-year-old.
Instead of forcing himself to endure the commonroom, Slade spent the majority of his time with Keizuki, the only person in the whole of the school that he could actually stand. Keizuki was like a lifeline to him and Slade clung tightly, however the other boy was busying himself with his schoolwork and even quidditch and leaving Slade to spend many hours by himself, alone and bored.
This was one of those times. Kei was at quidditch practice and Slade had already eaten lunch as slowly as he could and even finished his homework and now the young Slytherin found himself wandering the corridors aimlessly, hoping for something - anything really - to capture his attention and entertain him for just a short while so that he did not have to think about how much he would rather be at home.
Without realizing where he'd gone, Slade came upon a small room filled end to end with trophies and plaques and other memorabilia and stepped inside. He was reading through the names of champions throughout the years when he sensed the presence of someone else in the room.
