Virtual Hogwarts > The Third Floor > Trophy Room
Micah Cassidy
"Oh yeah? Well your mother told me that the only reason she sent you to Hogwarts was because she didn't know how to deal with your stupidity so she's making it the professors problem!" There was a bang as Micah shut the door to her dormitory. She meant to grab a book before she slammed out of the room, but she'd forgotten. She couldn't very well go back now, could she? There would be another verbal sparring match and she wouldn't get any studying done. Maybe if Lisa didn't play her iWiz at such an obnoxious level, no one would be in the position they were in.

Redfaced and looked flustered, Micah stormed all over the castle before hurrying into the trophy room. She'd been there numerous times to get some peace for studying, but never to look around. It was a fairly decent sized room. Trophies, obviously, of all kinds, lined the walls. Still, her footsteps made echoes on the stone floor as she tried to calm her breathing.

Why she was here, she had no idea. She wasn't particularly interested in trophies. "Damn. Now what do I do?" As said before, Micah couldn't go back to her dormitory. She slid to the cold floor and rested her head beneath her hands.

Then she heard someone else in the room. And their footsteps were coming closer.

OH NO, DEATH EATER! was Micah's first thought, but then she remembered that she was a relatively rational girl. So she sat up. Oh, it was just a boy.

Scratch that. Not just a boy. He was quite handsome. Micah stared up at him. "What are you doing? I'm trying to be alone."
James Vadorous
Yes, he was rather bored and not in the mood to go ALL the way down to the dungeon area to get some food. So, he was gonna go explore the place where his name would one day be. After all, people would always wonder what had happened to this school if James didn't have something in there by the time he graduated. See, he was so cool that people would actually worry about him when things came down to it. Oh well, not like he really needs to speak about that now, huh?

So, the trophy room it was.

"Hm? Oh, I didn't know this was a place for alone time. Where do I sign up for my time?" He joked pleasently as he glanced over at her. She was pretty! Though, girls still had cooties, so he wasn't supposed to have those kind of thoughts about girls yet. So, he was just gonna say she was nice.

Fine and nice mean the same in his book plz.

"So, what's bothering you to make you come here?" He asked cautiously, wondering if she would release her girl wrath on him and he would suddenly disappear. Then people really would wonder why he wasn't in here, except they would know since a crazy Slytherin would have killed him. Yes, he knew this girl was a Slytherin, after all, she was in all his classes and always sat near other Slytherins...Ok, so he was making a guess, but he figured that he was totally right. After all, only Slytherins and Ravenclaws come to place like this to mope. Hufflepuffs got each other and Gryffindors always went to do something adventurous to get their mind off of it.

They rocked that way plz. After all, who wouldn't want to be a Gryffindor with their amazing ability to not get house points taken away for doing things that they weren't supposed to be doing. People just kind of expected it at this point, which was why James wasn't actually doing anything bad.

Such a good boy.
Micah Cassidy
Oh, so he thought he was funny, did he? Not that Micah didn't appreciate humor. Her sense of humor was just offbeat and twisted, that's all. So she only found things funny that other people didn't. Maybe that's WHY she usually found them funny.

And he thought she was actually going to tell him, a complete stranger, her troubles and woes? Well, he would be right. She didn't have a journal and Francis wasn't here, so...

"My roommates are absolutely horrible. Po faced freaks with too much makeup who don't understand the concept of cleaning, don't value organization, play their stupid iWiz contraptions entirely too loud, and have no respect for anyone, least of all themselves!"

By now, Micah was striding up and down the trophy room, flailing wildly, face red again, a force to be reckoned with. All she could think of was revenge. Sweet, sweet, revenge. That's what she needed. To pay them back for all they'd done wrong to her. Revenge was something that occupied Micah's mind more often than anything else. It didn't take much to be written down in her book. One wrong glance and you were at the top of the list.

"That's uh, about it. I just don't like them." Micah said after a few moments of silence. She collected herself and pulled her socks back up.

Then she turned to the boy and knitted her eyebrows together. "You're...James something, right?" They were about the same height, Micah was just a smidgen taller. She was used to that, but...she had a weird feeling that they should be the same height. Like they should be equals. She pushed that back and extended a long fingered hand.

"I'm Micah Cassidy. I'm in Slytherin." She pointed to the crest on her sweater. "Obviously."
James Vadorous
He let her rant, knowing a girl who wasn't let to rant was going to kill someone. When she finished he got an evil idea...a Gryffindor idea, "Well, we could always prank them? I have loads of prank supplies from when I used to torture my roommates." He said with a shrug. He was always up for a good pranking. It just made things so much more fun around here. After all, most people would just go, 'give them a stern talking to', but James was a hands on type of guy.

He just rocked that way.

"My roommates all snore, I think I do too, either way, no one gets to sleep in because we throw things at each other, it gets really annoying." James commented with a shrug as she offered her hand. Wow, a Slytherin (he got it right, see!) who was actually being nice to him. He found this one to be such a great thing! Normally, he was enemies with those Slytherins. After all, Matt Hyph had been such a jerk to him last year, staring at him all class and then actually freaking out when James complimented him. He had been such a dork, but that wasn't James's fault. After all, James had made sure to be as nice to him as he could possibly be. "Dormmates get to be really annoying, I completely agree." He said turning to see him.

"Yea, I'm James R. Vadorous. Gryffindor." He said motioning to the shirt. He didn't really wear the sweater and such when he wasn't in school because he seriously was amazing that way. She actually seemed like a nice sort of person, so he grinned over at her and shook her hand. "Nice to finally meet you, I've seen you around class and stuff."

He didn't really pay attention to the fact that she was taller than him. Most people were actually taller than the boys in his year, dang their shortness and such. It meant that the boys were all gonna grow soon and be all BAM! taller than you! Of course, this had yet to happen, so he was just acting on what he had been told by his father. Over the last year, his father and him had gotten along much better, actually acting like father and son and having a great time. Such a beautiful story, eh?

"So, up for pranking them?
Micah Cassidy
Pranking them. Micah had to admit, that was an excellent suggestion, but she preferred to work alone. Plus she liked to be subtle and sneaky and conniving in her revenging. If revenging is even a word. She just didn't trust anyone else to carry out her plans of mayhem and destruction. Well, save for Ari, but he was long gone. But he definitely got respect points for wanting to help her...and for having supplies on hand that he used. She could get used to his company.

"James R. Vadorous." She repeated, then, in a moment of sheer silliness, bent low and curtsied. "Charmed, I'm sure," she added, putting on a posh accent, then letting it drop immediately. She wasn't the Queen of England, for pete's sake. As much as she thought she was. "Oh, you have?" Of course he'd seen her around. Ahem, she didn't want to brag or anything, but hers was a name that was frequently on the gossip mill and on a lot of second year boys minds, as they were all just hitting teenage status.

"Uh, pranking, not so much. I just...would rather do it alone. I do most things better alone." Micah crossed her arms defensively and turned her attention idly to the trophies. "You know...one day after I leave Hogwarts, there are going to be trophies here with my name on them for service to the school...like saving the school from some kind of disaster."

Not that she was Gryffindor-like in any way. She wouldn't do it just to help, she would do it for her own selfish pride and for the recognition. She wasn't a Slytherin for nothing.
James Vadorous
"Nice to meet you as well." He said with his own bow. Hey, growing up with proper parents hadn't completely gone to waste on him. Though, he looked up at her with a grin that only a Gryffindor could pull off (or a Greek Gryffindor in this case) as he looked up, "Micah Cassidy? That's a wellknown name around my dorm room." He didn't need to make the comment that a lot of it was not so nice, but there were a lot of compliments and now that he was meeting her, he could mostly see the compliments, some of the drama too.

"Well, if you need any supplies or any trap setters, I'd be glad to distract them long enough for you to do that." He said with a nod and he moved to lean against one of the walls. He watched her for a few moments and grinned, "That'll be two of us then Micah. I'm going to have loads of trophies in here by the time that I leave this school."

Ah yes, there was the cockiness that had always been equated with him. James knew he looked good, he took compliments well, but he took them like he knew it was true. He also expected everyone to love him but he didn't know how much trouble that would cause. "Everyone will know my name and worship it by the end of this." He said nodding as he looked over at her. She seemed like she was the kind of girl who expected the same for herself. That he found amusing.

"So, what do you expect your trophies to be about?
Micah Cassidy
She couldn't help but feel a spark of smugness and curiosity at James' comment. of course her name was well known in his dormitory. Of course it was. But then her neurosis kicked in and she started to have a semi-panic attack about what was being said. After all, deep...deep down, all Micah wanted was to be accepted. That, and all the money and power she could possibly get her grubby little hands on.

"The two of us. Sounds great." Micah kicked the charm up just for fun. She smiled widely, flicking her hair back out of her face. Flirting 101 with Gretchen Cassidy that summer had been a fiasco, but she'd learned a bit. Why her mother was teaching her to charm and manipulate boys at such a young age was beyond her. She didn't much care, it was fun most of the time. And it seemed all she had to do was flash her blue eyes and about three of them would offer to carry her books.

"Oh, I don't know. Service to the school. Like I said, saving everyone from some kind of natural disaster. A tsunami...even though those don't occur in Scotland, do they?" She scratched at the engraving on one of the trophies with her pinky nail. "Flooding or something. My brain works well in emergencies. If I can't save Hogwarts from a flood, no one can."

That was probably the most self-assured sentence Micah Cassidy had ever said. It seemed as she advanced in years, her ego grew bigger and bigger.
James Vadorous
He wasn't sure what she was thinking about, but he wasn't exactly the type of male who wanted to know what was going on inside the female mind. After all, he was happy when he got attention and when girls seemed to really like him. Otherwise, he was just an 'eh' kind of guy when someone asked him what he thought she was thinking. He was such a cool, laid back, calm and yea. He could talk about himself for hours on end, but no one seemed to really want to listen to that. Oh well.

Oooh, flirtation. Cue James actually paying attention again.

"Hm, well, we'll be sure we both be well known at the end of this time." He said raising an eyebrow in her direction. Ah, the flirtation of a second year boy. So innocent while he thought that he was being so daring. Of course, this would never go to any one because girls were supposed to have those muggle things...Erm, cooties?

"Impressive, mine will be for winning dueling tournaments, saving our school from a death eater invasion. Yannoe, that cool kid kind of stuff." He answered with a proud grin as he looked over at her. Yea, he hadn't yet developed the knack for flirting. Most boys his age weren't exactly mature enough to even think of that whole idea yet. Though, it was blooming in this kid's mind and he certainly was excited to be becoming such an older, cooler big kid now.

But! He was gonna act mature for Micah. She seemed cool enough to handle it.
Micah Cassidy
Micah giggled. It was a complete accident, but it definitely happened. She almost threw her hand over her mouth as if she said a swear word, but stopped herself. Boys liked when you giggled at them. It made them think you liked them. Then they did your homework for you. Hopefully James was smart. Actually, on second hand...Micah didn't want anyone else to do her homework. She would get better marks, most likely.

"Saving the school from a Death Eater attack? Right." She sounded skeptical, obviously. She knew Death Eaters liked to play dirty, and James, well...he seemed like the type who always fought fair. He wasn't a Gryffindor for nothing, she guessed.

Micah walked around and surveyed the names on the trophies again, thought about going back to the Slytherin common room. Anna and Lisa were probably off dueling or scaring first years with their faces by now. But something kept her there, in the trophy room.

"So, James. Tell me something you've never told anyone," she teased, flipping her hair around again. It didn't bounce like it was supposed to in the films. It just lay there, limp as seaweed. Luckily she had the eyes.

Oh, manipulation was such fun. Of course, she didn't actually expect him to tell her something of that kind. She didn't much care. She was just, you know, being coy.
James Vadorous
"Something I never told anyone?" James mused as he looked over at her. Her giggling, her flick of the hair and stuff like that totally caught his attention. He watched her grinning, "Hm...Well, something no one knows about me...Hm...I am absolutely terrified of prefects and the head boy." James said shivering slightly at the memory of last year.

"Headboys are the worst." James answered quickly, not at all caring that he came across weird.

"I will save the school from those evil guys too! Who knows, maybe I'll rescue you if you ever get into trouble." James answered as he grinned and flirted a little with the other. See, James actually managed to flirt with some people before he would mess up and such. He wasn't going to mess up this time!

"So, tell me something about yourself that you've never told anyone." James countered as he looked up at her.

He doubted she would tell him though.

Psh. Girls.
Micah Cassidy
The sincerity in the room was making Micah claustrophobic. This little game, or whatever it was, that the two inexperienced second years were playing, made a serious turn and she wasn't sure she liked it. She didn't even KNOW James, wasn't sure if she wanted to, and definitely didn't want to know that he was scared of the headboy and the prefects. He was supposed to make something up, didn't he know? Sometimes cute and silly that she could laugh at, then she could be on her merry way.

But no, he had to go and do something like reveal a secret to her, which was the quickest way to her heart. As far as Micah was concerned, if someone you just met could open up so much as to tell you one of their fears, you had them in the palm of your hand and could reshape them like putty. For some reason, though, Micah was finding it hard to get the energy up to manipulate James the way she wanted to. Or maybe she didn't want to at all.

"Maybe you will," Micah shrugged. She completely doubted it. If anyone would be doing any saving, it would be her, and she'd be saving herself. But she humored James because his ego seemed to be almost as big as hers, and she knew how much it angered her when someone doubted her abilities.

Oh, great. She should have seen that one coming. Micah wasn't too keen on revealing private aspects of her life to a near stranger, but at this particular moment, nothing seemed to matter except getting closer to James and spending hours by his side.

"I...have this really old stuffed duck from when I was a little girl...I keep it hid under my bed, since the girls in my dorm would tease me about it. Sometimes if I can't sleep, or if I get scared, I'll cuddle with it...and pretend it's my mum."

Micah glanced around to make sure no one was about. Good, there wasn't - no Peeves, no annoying gossipy fourth years, no house elves. Then she looked back at James. "Take that to your grave. If it got out that I sleep with a stuffed duck, no one will take me seriously anymore. You got that?"
James Vadorous
The room was suddenly very awkward.

He fidgeted, never really being the one to understand girls when it came down to everything like this. See, this was usually where he turned and walked away, but there was that little fact that she needed to tell him something about herself. James was very much about loyalty, a lot of that is what got him into Gryffindor...Aside from his knack to find adventure and obviously follow it wherever it went. So, he was determined to hang around until she told him something that no one else knew. He seriously didn't expect her to tell him either.

"You secret is safe with me." The immature boy replied, doing the motion of zipping his lips to show her that he was actually serious about not telling anything. He looked over at her and said, "No telling people about my secret either though! I don't want any of those creepy guys coming near me."

He mentally and physically shivered at the thought and said, without realizing how flirty it could be taken as of course, "Well, maybe ouor trophies will be next to each other...Of course, we'd be the two greatest people to save the school, aside from those founding people a billion years ago. They win just because they created what we get to save." It was really sad how obvious a girl's maturity level went up faster than a guy's at a young age. Oh well, James was going to be super mature soon. No pun or idea about whoever he becomes intended.

"Dude, what day is it?" He asked suddenly, not really sure of what he was supposed to be doing tomorrow.

He was an airhead with a bad attention span.
Micah Cassidy
She didn't understand his fear of the head boy and the prefects. Personally, Micah loved them. They seemed to hold so much power. Everyone seemed to step aside for them, so they could walk unblocked through a busy corridor. They had a light around them that Micah grew more envious of every day. To her, being a prefect was all about having power over the school. A power that she desperately wanted, now, but didn't know how to get.

"Your secret is safe with me,"James made a zipping lip motion. In spite of herself, Micah cracked a wide grin. James was such a Gryffindor, and truth be told, Micah had the biggest soft spot for Gryffindors. Laurie, Orson, that boy Miles was always hanging around with...there was just something charming about the house as a whole. Maybe it was the chivalry. "I won't tell, James. I promise." Again with the sincerity, only this time it made her feel safe and warm, not claustrophobic.

Micah knitted her eyebrows together. "It's Friday. Why? Are you supposed to be somewhere right now?"

"Sorry to keep you." Micah added airily. Apparently, the walls that James had so easily broken down a few minutes earlier had been built back up, barricaded, locked, with a chair underneath the doorknob to insure he couldn't get back in. Yay metaphors.
James Vadorous
James grinned back at her, glad to see her so at ease, but her promise just made him really grin and looked at her seriously. What did people mean when they said Slytherins were mean? Sure, that kid...Matt something whatshisface was really mean and deserved that whole stereotype, but she was nice and really didn't. Though, she seemed to get kind of stiff, but James thought that maybe she had something to do. Well, he would get out of her hair then because mad girls could be scary.

"Well, no, but I think I have an essay to write." He said carefully. He looked over at her and then had a bright idea! See, he didn't like to see girls unhappy and even though he didn't know why she was unhappy, he wanted to make her feel a bit better.

He wore these Mardi Gras beads (no, he had no idea how people got them. He was a pureblood), but they were something about...he had no idea, but a friend had given them to him and Micah was now a friend! He looked over at her and grinned again, "But! Before I go I have something for you. Since we both are kinda keeping a secret for the other. Then, I thought that we should have kind of something that shows that whole promise to each other." Wow, so mature for a boy his age. Yea, that was going to be gone soon.

He pulled the colorful beads off of his neck and from under his robes before he showed them to each other, "These are...some sort of beads, but they're cool. You should have them, so that we both remember that we need to keep that secret." James said with a grin.

He pushed them into her hand and said, "I am gonna go. We'll see each other around though!" He turned and left, obviously now thinking about another way to get into the trophy room and get one of those little things dedicated to him.

He had a bad attention span.
