Closed for Daniel. Unspeakable horror not included. Malcolm had eaten his sandwiches (except for the crusts, which he pried off and surreptitiously slid onto his father's plate) and his biscuit, and sat patiently in his seat while his parents kept eating talking for, oh, a full minute at least. But it was hard to sit there when he had to twist his neck all the way around to watch people walking down Diagon Alley out the window, and when he took a peek into his parents' cups they weren't even half finished their drinks. He was going to be here for hours, or at least a lot of minutes. Malcolm was a patient child most of the time, but he hated to feel trapped somewhere, especially if it was noisy. He slid out of his seat and started to head for the door, but his father grabbed Malcolm's arm and asked (in what seemed to Malcolm an unreasonably stern voice) "where are you going?" Malcolm pointed to a sign indicating toilets at the back of the establishment and his father, satisfied, returned to tea and conversation. Malcolm headed out the front door, in the complete opposite direction of the toilets. Outside, Diagon Alley was just as noisy, but it was relatively fresh air, with the emphasis on 'relatively', and it wasn't as confining as being indoors. Malcolm wandered along aimlessly for a little way until he spotted a boy, about his own age, drawing in a sketchbook. Malcolm scooted up behind the boy and looked over his shoulder at the drawing. He leant in until his face was right down by the boy's ear, in order to get a really good look, then said "that looks nice." |

Daniel was in Diagon Alley, since he found out he was a wizard he was there most of the time. he spent all his time there. Drawing, In his Sketch book. He was sitting in the ice cream parlour drawing the abnormal bank of Gringotts at the end of the street,
Daniel had his earphone's in as per usual listening to his favourite Rock song. he was drawing and then suddenly a boy was right next to him QUOTE That's Nice he said. It scared Dan, he jumped.. 'ARH! What? Oh thanks' he smiled at the boy, he had just jumped up and kind of pushed him away. he had just complimented his drawing. He slid the Sketch Pad into his bag. 'i'm Dan by the way. whats your name?' |

Instead of saying something like 'oh, thank you', the boy shrieked, jumped in the air and shoved Malcolm backwards. Only then did the thank you come.
"You're welcome," Malcolm said without shrieking or jumping. He looked pointedly at the sketchpad, with a sort of expression on his face which he hoped said 'please show me more drawings, I like them'. Obviously it didn't say quite that, because the other boy slid the book into his bag and introduced himself. "Hullo, Dan. I'm Malcolm. What's that?" He pointed at an earphone dangling uselessly in the air, having apparently come loose in Dan's hurry to jump around like a frightened rabbit. Malcolm tilted his head slightly and observed the scene, taking in boy, dangling earphone and the Diagon Alley crowd surrounding. He came to the following conclusion: "You have a very square head." |

'Sorry, you startled me, i didn't expect anyone to be sneaking up on me...' he smirked at the boy, the small brat point at his earphone, he tucked it into his shirt, "Nothing" he hid it. The boy was weird, he was staring at Dan. 'Er what are you looking at?' and then the boy really angered Dan, it was only five words,
"WHAT ABOUT MY HEAD!" he shouted, attracting the attention of some passing wizards and witches, 'Well.. well.. YOU LOOK LIKE A DEFORMED HOUSE ELF" Dan picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder, he wasn't planning on entertaining this boy's company for long, he was annoying and idiotic, and Dan wasn't afraid of letting him know, |

"That's okay," Malcolm said. "I don't mind." Dan didn't answer Malcolm's question about the cordy thing, which was much more bothersome than the jumping and shoving and shouting had been.
"WHAT ABOUT MY HEAD!" Dan shouted, suddenly. "I said it's very squa--" Malcolm began to clarify, but Dan didn't want to listen. He wanted to shout! Malcolm stared, wide-eyed while Dan finished his frothy tirade and collected his bag. "House elves have those ears," Malcolm explained, using his hands to demonstrate the shape of a house elf's ears. "And they speak in funny voices." This last he attempted to do in a house elf voice, but failed. "I can't even do the voice. I think I am definitely a human and not a house elf. You're probably human too." |
