VH Year 16 2018/19 VH Happenings: As another year rolls around at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it begins with a bang when a scuffle breaks out in the Prefect Compartment of the Hogwarts Express over a spot of typical Gryffindor mischief. Things are barely given enough time to settle down at the castle before one of the largest food fights Hogwarts has ever seen explodes in the Great Hall - and thanks to several Professors on watch, the food fight quickly becomes one of the largest detentions Hogwarts has ever seen. Troublemaking is certainly no shy stranger at Hogwarts, as Lola Sprig and Hector Farquhar Torrent team up to continue the spree of monkey business by sending out a mail order for a package of Hogwarts' greatest secrets. Third Year Slytherin Lyceus Falls, resident werewolf, changes and then takes a stroll around. The Deadmasters and Deadmistresses consider the possibility of being renovated out. Professors Denton and Mason, Madam Paton and Mr Fogarty revert to childhood and have a snowball fight. Orson Winchester 'falls' into a broom closet, Oliver Clarke gives Della Harding a promise ring, Albus Potter asks girl advice from Molly Weasley, Rhydian Cainan asks girl/boy advice from Madam Paton, Julian Trice takes Professor Sheffield on a date and Miles Weber and Pheobus Alexanders wonder how they can hoard all the girls for themselves. After being denied the previous year on the pitch, Hufflepuff comes roaring right back and manages to edge out Gryffindor by a single goal to win the Quidditch Cup, returning the trophy to the badgers. Not all is a loss for Gryffindor, however, as Rhynn Kadel tries to keep things interesting by spiking the water in the Ravenclaw versus Gryffindor match with...love potion?! Meanwhile, in the duelling chamber, Carmen Johnson, Louis Weasley, and Gregory Robins stamp themselves into the history books by taking the top spot in the Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner Tier tournaments. Alec Berglund, Raven Ashcroft, Sebastian Montague, Simone Halliwell, Finn Weber, and Harmony Salvatore are also recognized for their efforts. To cap off an eventful school year, a Talent Show featuring a variety of acts from gymnastics to comedy routines hits the Great Hall! Unfortunately, not all has been at peace in the world. After capturing a Death Eater during the attack on the Potter family, Kingsley Shacklebolt deceives his captive into leading a phalanx of Order members and Aurors straight into the lair of the Death Eaters, resulting in its ruin. Narcissa Malfoy is exposed as the Dark Lady and Draco Malfoy rebels for his freedom as Death Eaters, Order members, and Aurors clash all around. Many lives are lost in the battle, and Fiendfyre breaks loose and threatens to ravage the land before the clouds pour down a shower to put it out while Harry Potter and Derek Trimble move to investigate the Malfoy Manor. New Prefects:
Megan Maguire Megan Kennedy Zoeigh McAllister Kaoru Li A’Marie Breck June Pachinko-Johnson Shay Weber Julian Trice Head Girl: Naomi Ellsworth House Cup: Slytherin Quidditch Cup: Hufflepuff Thanks go to Noah Weber and James Scott-Spencer for this summary! |

VH Year 17 2019/20 VH Happenings: The Quidditch fans and fanatics at Hogwarts are let down at the Sorting Feast as Headmaster Weasley announces that this year's season is cancelled...for the Tri-Wizard Tournament! The schools of Durmstrang and Beauxbatons make their impressive arrival at Hogwarts as students from all three schools hope to be chosen to compete and win. Alas, not all who entered their names into the Goblet of Fire could be selected, and out of the flames came the highest calibre of contestants. Representing Durmstrang: Anastas Dotchev, Nikolas Kersensky, Marko Lazarov, and Rutger Verstappen. For Beauxbatons: Isabelle Bontecou, Rheia Cronus, Remy Dider, and Marius Laroque. And lastly, Hogwarts: Alexa Lestero from Hufflepuff, Megan Maguire of Gryffindor, Sebastian Montague for Slytherin, and Miles Weber the Ravenclaw. The first task stretches across all of Hogwarts in the form of a relay race, as each team of the three schools battle through obstacles to the finish line. Hoping to set the tone for the rest of the tournament, Team Hogwarts finishes in first place, with Beauxbatons and Durmstrang coming in a close second and third. With barely any time to catch their breaths, the champions are then split up and formed into new teams with members from each school as they are thrown into a fierce duel to obtain clues to the final task...but the duel isn't against each other! Their opponents? None other than monstrous Class XXXX creatures: a Graphorn, Runespoor, Griffin, and an Erumpent. While all of the champions emerge from the second task alive, though slightly battered, only Anastas Dotchev of Durmstrang, Rheia Cronus of Beauxbatons, and Miles Weber of Ravenclaw are selected to run the final leg of the tournament: the third task. Nothing but riddles, creatures, and even family members await them in the dreaded labyrinth, and watching over it all from the VIP booth are a multitude of well known faces throughout the world, including the likes of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. The congregation of so many personalities is bound to end in conflict, and it does as a prank by Fred II and Roxane Weasley and a bottle of their father's latest invention ends up with Draco Malfoy and George Weasley balding a bit earlier than they would have liked. Doing his school proud, Miles Weber comes out of the maze as the victor in true style, breaking the riddle presented to him by a Sphinx and dashing forward to claim the Tri-Wizard Cup! And while both Durmstrang and Beauxbatons go home without a win under their belts, they do not leave completely empty handed, for the friendships they have forged remain with them as they depart. Meanwhile, a mysterious Mr. X puts up a strange box to provide "sagely" answers for those in need of advice... Down in the dungeons, Hogwart's duelists enter a little competition of their own. Raven Ashcroft, Eleora Chance and Arianna Lyons take first place in the Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner Tier annual tournaments. Followed by Juliet Rosier, Britney Lushia, Gavin Davies, Waverly Leigh, Teagan Rourke, and Parker McAdams for placing second and third. After losing their base of operations and a large portion of their number to the attack they suffered the previous year, the Death Eaters recongregate under Narcissa Malfoy, but they are no longer so assured about their leader's mental stability. While Hogwarts experiences a spell of laundry mishaps that leads to all the robes turning pink, Death Eaters slip into the grounds and steal a highly magical gargoyle statue. Despite a growing amount of reluctance from her subjects clinging to her robes, now that she has collected everything she has been searching for, Narcissa moves ahead with her plot......and gets more than she bargained for as the newly reborn Tobias Grymsonn invokes an ancient spell to seal away her magic. With Narcissa's power removed, the Death Eaters follow after Tobias as he sets out into the world, intent on acclimating himself to a world five centuries after his last known breath. New Prefects:
Orson Winchester Mallory Lyons Waverly Leigh Astrid McManus Miles Weber Juliet Rosier Jaedon Sylvertongue Head Girl: Alexa Lestero House Cup: Slytherin Quidditch Cup: Canceled due to Tri-Wizard Tournament Thanks to Noah again for this summary, and to Eleora Chance, too! |
