Hadrian had heard of the trophy room but had never seen it with his own eyes. Today it had been a total accident he found it too. A staircase had moved and he really didn't feel like walking all the way around back to the common room. His classes were done so he thought he would just wander maybe find a better way back to the Slytherin common room but instead he had found the trophy room.
The past few months at Hogwarts had flown by. Regular correspondence with his mother was more of a bother then actually doing Homework. She nagged him and badgered him for details on friendships he was making, proper purebloods she hoped, and studies. He tended to make half of it up knowing what would please her. To be honest he rarely hung out with the children his age. They seemed rather... un-intelligent to him. Not in a bad way but in an 11 year old way. They had certain things on their mind and he had others. Maybe in a few years they would catch up so for now he would continue as it was. Hadrian scanned the trophies and found a number with his father’s name. Apparently he had been quite the athlete back in his day. The first year boy had not known and it shocked him. His fathers generally did nothing but read, smoke his pipe and pretend to do his 'job'. Hadrian still was unsure what he actually did for work but apparently he went and did it every day. The young boy had no aspirations for Quidditch Glory must not be like his father. Thank Goodness. |

Morven loved Quiddtch it was the best sport ever! He couldn't wait to see if he could try out for it this year. He used to watch as many games as he could back home! It was his favorite past time on the weekends. He thought a trip to the trophy room was in order to see the kind of standards he would have to keep up to.
He had just reached the stair case and had his hand on the door when he heard footsteps inside. Great. Well if he wasn't going to be alone whilst he pondered the trophies he hoped they would at least be nice and up for talking about Qudditch!. He pushed open the big heavy oak door and stepped inside. His footsteps echoing as he walked towards the cabinet on the opposite side to the person who was already in there. He put his hands on the pane of glass his breath misting it as he looked at all the gleaming metal. He smiled with excitement at the thought of his name one day being on one of the trophies. |

Hadrian was so wrapped up in his investigation of the Trophy case he jumped when he heard someone come in. Turning he froze. There in front of him was Morven Dunham. The Slytherin's eyes narrowed at the Gryffindor boy. Master Dunham was of course a pureblood and Hadrian had met him over the 'years' in society. Both of Morven's parents worked in the ministry he knew and Hadrian's mother was not enthusiastic about the family. He had heard many rumors sitting beside his mother when she was with the 'ladies'. The gossip that flowed had brought up the Dunham family every now and then mostly because the Father... what was his name again.... Incanus Dunham was a former Slytherin who married a Gryffindor. The Magnus clan had not been very receptive to this and there was much animosity between them according to his mother’s behavior. Hadrian wondered what else may have happened between Hadrian's mother and the Dunham parents. They had all gone to Hogwarts around the same time he knew. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Greetings." He nodded. |

Morven jumped, not expecting the person to speak, the tone of voice already alerted him to the fact the person must be a Slytherin. He turned slowly as he did his eyes widened. Great He thought to himself. It was Hadrian Magnus. His parents hated that family. Morven never really did fully understand why but he knew that he probably shouldn't be talking to him. But his curiosity always got the better of him.
"Magnus" Morven nodded in greeting. His father and mother had married, it wasn't looked upon as proper for his father to have married a Gryffindor. Morven knew that that had something to do with the whole argument. "What brings you here?" He asked in a slightly bitter tone. Not really fully understanding the whole reason of why he was being bitter towards the boy. He stepped away from the cabinets so he was facing the Magnus boy fully. He let his arms drop to his sides, his right hand feeling the wood of his wand in his pocket just in case. Merlin knows what spells he would cast though. |
