There was something about Wednesdays that made Kate nostalgic. She liked to roam around the trophy room on days like these, usually with a pumpkin pasty in hand so she could snack on it while she wandered around the room and looked at all the shiny objects with names engraved in them. They inspired her, kept her going throughout the week so that she could get to Quidditch practise on Saturday so that she could work hard enough that one day, her name would be on there, too.

It would be hers to keep, her name engraved there forever while some other student walked in here on a Wednesday eating a pasty and marvelling at the legacies past.

She enjoyed the serenity of it all. That was, of course, until people broke the silence.

There was a noise in the hallway, and Kate irately poked her head out to see what it was. "Hey, keep it down, will you?"

Hercules was a little bit grumpy about everything. But it wasn't just today. This seemed to be something that happened all of the time. He couldn't really help it. It didn't seem to matter what was going on. He always did his best to avoid others. But sometimes it was impossible. That's when he had to resort to other methods of spending his time. Usually he was either hiding in his dorm talking to Freddie, or dueling. However he was getting tired of dealing with all of the ickles. They were just annoying and frustrating. They asked questions. Ugh. He didn't want to deal with them, if he could be lucky enough to avoid them.

Nothing he normally did was working, so he found himself walking around the castle. He wasn't even paying attention when a kid crashed into him. "Watch it!" Which thus lead to a shouting match. It wasn't like Herc really cared. It wasn't his fault that someone was just being stupid. He was only doing what any normal person would do. He most likely would have ended up hexing the poor ickle if someone hadn't made their appearance and distracted him.

Looking at the girl, he sighed. Mostly he was just frustrated that the other kid had gotten away before Herc could do anything. Oh well. It wasn't like he could really do anything about it now. He had no idea what the small child had looked like, other than the fact that it was a small child. "Why do you care?" He stated, looking at the girl boredly. It wasn't like this was something he really needed to deal with. She looked mad. Anyone who was sane might stop and just let her have her way. But no one had called Herc sane lately. He was grumpy and he refused to be silenced. If he wanted to yell at first years, he would.

The boy looked seriously offended, though Kate couldn't figure out why. She'd only asked him to keep it down, and that wasn't such a horrible offence, was it? It was a perfectly reasonable request, in her opinion, which, as we all know, is law.

Kate fully stepped out of the trophy room at this point and surveyed the situation. It appeared as if the boy who was in front of her had had an unfortunate encounter with another human, who had apparently the good sense to flee the scene as quickly as possible. She arched an eyebrow at the boy who remained. What had the other kid done to irritate this kid? And why did this kid find it necessary to disturb everyone in the hallway in order to express his irritation?

"I just like to have peace and quiet when admiring the trophies from my house," she said in a very un-tomboyish fashion, but then again, Kate was prideful. She did enjoy the legacies from Gryffindors past and did aspire to be one to leave her own legacy someday. Someday, her name would be on one of those trophies, and hopefully then someone else wouldn't be disturbing the silence of her admirer.
