(in Common Room)

Rettie couldn't contain herself. She couldn't. Every time she even thought about trying to sit still, she just hopped up and started scurrying around like a demented ferret. BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT SIT STILL D< NOT WHEN SOMETHING THIS MOMENTOUS WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.

Rettie.

Was getting.

MENTEEEEESSSSSS AMG MENTEES

She would have ALL SORTS of fun times with them! She'd show them around the castle and help them with their homework, and and and BRAID their HAIR and be the MOST AMAZING MENTOR EVER. But she couldn't forget about her FELLOW mentor, could she?

SKARRELETTE WAS HER FELLOW MENTOR AND TOGETHER THEY WERE GOING TO BE THE BEST MENTORING GROUP EVER. She was Rettie was Margerette, and Skar was Skarrelette, and their mentees were AMAZING (naturally) so together they were SKARRELETTE AND MARGERETTE'S AMAZING MENTOR GROUP.

And it was REALLY EXTRA amazing because Skar was Rettie's mentor as well! So Rettie was like assistant mentor, except not really because then she might not be able to do all the fun things she wanted to with her mentees.

"AMG SKAR THIS IS GOING TO BE SO FUNNN" Rettie gibbered, jumping around in circles. "WHAT TYPE OF HAIR BRAID DO YOU THINK THEY'LL WANT?" she asked, a peculiar light shining in her eyes.

Mentees please wait for Skarrelette to post first <3

Mentoring was the best thing ever. Skarrelette was excited to be mentoring again, for the third time ever. She just loved her mentees so much, and her mentoring partners... well, they were alright. Except for Margerette. Margerette was awesome. She was Skarrelette's mentee last year and this year just made everything awesome.

Skarrelette had left a note, telling her mentees where to meet them at, but by the time she got to the meeting place, no one was there. Except for the million Gryffindors who were socializing on their day off from classes. Scowling, the fourth year made her way through the girls' dormitories to find Margerette.

After searching the whole place with no luck, she made her way back down to the meeting place and there she was. ...Scurrying around like a maniac. Running over to her (because people were staring), Skarrelette put her hands on her shoulders and tried to make her sit.

"Margerette, you have to sit!" cried Skarrelette, fully aware of all the pairs of eyes watching them. The fourth year led Rettie over to a chair of some sort and made her sit down. "The mentees will be here in a little while, and you don't want them to think you're insane, do you?"

The Gryffindor looked up to see two little first years, but she wasn't sure if they were Rettie's and Skar's mentees. Skarrelette hoped so because she wanted to explore. Even though she's lived her for four years, that doesn't mean she's explored everything.

Layla was upstairs in her dormitory practicing her violin. There wer too many bodies and way too much body heat in the Common room so she decided to chill and practice in her dorm. Luckily no one was in the room to hear the screech she made on her violin every now and then when she messed up. She couldn't have anyone knowing she wasn't as awesome as she seemed right?

After about an hour of practicing the first year decided to go down to the common room again like it said in the note her mentor's left her. How would she know who were her mentors? There were so many people in the common room, it could be anybody!

Quickly she put up her violin and ran out her dormitory and down the stairs. Well it wasn't too hard to find the people she thought were her mentors. One looked like she could be her age, but no one can be a first year mentor so she assumed the girl was a second year. Then there was an older girl that looked as to be trying to restrain the younger girl.

" Uuuuum...Are you two my mentors?" she asked a bit hesitantly. It would be so embaressing if they were just some random peeps that were just doing random things...

Rettie jumped up again upon the arrival of a person. A short person. And she totally wasn't being a hypocrite when she said that. The person looked small, and ickly, and--ZOMG SHE WAS THEIR MENTEEEE

She shrugged off Skar, instead excitedly doing a ritualistic frolic around the girl. Or, you know, she could have just been doing a random bouncy dance to work off her excitement. And the gibbering that was coming out of her lips totally wasn't an ancient language meaning that the eleven-year-old's soul was now bound to hers for all of the hair-braiding eternity.

Right. Don't frighten off the ickles. And make sure they don't think you're insane. SHE HEARS YOU LOUD AND CLEAR, SKAR.

"Hii!" she said exuberantly, literally not being able to keep still. How could she? She was getting mentees. This was a momentous occasion. Sitting still was practically blasphemy. Whatever that was. "I'm Rettie, and that's Skar" she bounced over to her fellow mentor and gave her a shove forwards. "And you're our mentee!" she finished, a wide grin spreading across her face.

Then it fell as she took another look around, her frown turning UPSIDE DOWN (see what I did there?) as she saw that there were no other ickle-looking people in the common room.

"Are you Bobby's sister?" she asked the girl, frowning just a little as she realized that she probably wasn't, since she didn't look very much like Bobby. "Well then, you must be Layla!" her excitement returning, she shrugged off Cecelia's lateness and instead put her mind to what they'd do for their VERY FIRST EVER MENTEE MEETING.

.....Come to think of it, what would they do?

Rettie turned to Skar for help, making puppydog eyes at the older student. "Halps?" D:

The beginning of the school year had begun and it had been overwhelming for young Cecelia Corvin. However, the little first year had a lot of energy and took it in stride. She just couldn't stay still for very long and was always exploring the castle and all its wonders. Cece's energy ran out though, just like with most kids and the night before she was supposed to meet with her mentors and a fellow mentee, she slept like the dead.

Cece had woken up to the warm mid-morning sun touching her pale skin. She stirred from her slumber, wondering what time it was and thinking of all the activities she was going to do that day. Cece cracked open an eye and looked at the clock on her bedside table. Her brown eye saw the the short hand between the 11 and 12 while the long hand was just past the 6. Cece panicked. She was running late. The small girl bolted out of bed and rummaged through her trunk for some clean clothes and her toiletries. She hurried into the bathroom to take a quick shower. "Maybe I should have skipped one today," Cece thought to herself. "Or I should have waited until after I met my mentors. I'm supposed to be meeting at the edge of the forest. Maybe we're going into the forest."

This thought worried Cece. Her uncle Keith had gone to school at Hogwarts years ago and was one of the students who were kidnapped. He didn't talk about it much but Cece knew that there were things in the Forbidden Forest that a kid like her shouldn't see, like bears... But Cece would just have to go with it and see what happens. "Positive outcomes only," she mumbled.

Cece finally finished through her rushed shower and quickly got dressed in a light shirt and jeans. She stuffed her wet hair in a messy bun at the top of her head, not having time to dry it properly. After slipping on some socks and a pair of rubber shoes, she ran out of her dorm, through the common room, pass the fat lady portrait and made her way down through the castle.

Cece was definitely late and she was going to be even more late because half way through her trek through the castle, Cece's stomach had made an awfully hungry cry. Rolling her eyes, she made a note to pass by the Great Hall before going to the forest.

A big mistake that was though. Cece had gone to the Great Hall where they were already serving lunch. She was going to grab some bread and run but was caught by her older brother who was already seated at the Gryffindor table. Bobby always seemed to catch her when she didn't want to sit and eat. Being the older brother that he was, he pulled her down next to him and made her eat and healthy amount of food. "Can I go now?" she whined at the oldest Corvin sibling. Bobby just nodded and Cece gave him a kiss on the cheek and ran out of the Great Hall.

Cece rush towards the edge of the forest where a small group of students were standing. Hopefully this was the right group.

"Sorry I'm late everybody!" she announced in a loud, high pitched voice as she reached the group. "I'm Cece! Who are you lot?"

Looking at the ickles expectantly, the fourteen year old was disappointed to see them walk past them. Maybe they had already met their mentors and fellow mentees. Skarrelette didn't know, she just knew they were running late. The Gryffindor had stayed up for endless nights, skipping dinner to formulate a plan. She wanted to explore, but the towers were too boring, the squid rarely comes out and there's really nothing on the lawn or the quidditch pitch. Skarrelette had decided that they would see a quidditch match, just not today.

She worked and worked until it was perfect. She would meet her mentoring partner in the common room, rush down to the forbidden forest and wait anxiously for the arrival of their mentees. However, her plan had backfired. She concentrated all her time on Rettie, trying to get her to sit still, until one of her mentees actually met them in the common room.

The fourth year squinted and shook her head at Rettie as she asked for help. Did she never listen to Skarrelette? Skar decided it would just have to be a surprise to everybody then. Skarrelette looked at the time, realized they were extremely behind, then ran down through the common room, down the stairs, through the great hall and onto the grounds. She was ready.

As it was nearing noon, Skarrelette decided to give up on waiting for their mentee, it was hopeless. It was eleven thirty in the morning and the ickle was still not hear. As she turned around about to enter the forest, she heard someone announcing they were sorry they were late. Looking at the girl, she looked like someone familiar.

"Oh! You're Cecelia, aren't you?" replied Skarrelette, grinning broadly. "You look just like Jessica! She was my mentee last year," - Skarrelette put on an extremely serious face at this time - "Okay guys, I'll be leading you in here, and Rettie will bring up the rear. Don't you go wandering off and don't you slow down. We're going into the forbidden forest, it's forbidden for a reason," - she sounded like such a prefect - "We're here to break rules, not get hurt."

Skarrelette pulled out her wand, just in case something was in there. "Everyone ready? Get your wands out," - officiator sounding - "We don't know what we're going to be expecting in here. Okay, now, let's go!"

---
Now, we are entering the forest! We have someone already lined up to catch us, so have fun!

Soon a girl Layla's age joined them. Apparently she was her fellow mentee. Her mentor's talked about how the girl who's name is Cece looked like someone, probably a sibling most likely. She politely smiled at the girl and introduced herself. " I'm Layla." she told her, before giving her attention to her oldest mentor who had turned serious while explaining what they were doing.

Once she was done Layla got out her wand as instructed and held it in front of her. She really didn't know what she would do with it, she had hardly been at the school in long enough time to do anything. All she had in her aresenal was a unperfected knockback jinx. It had better work if they run across anything unexpected while in the creepy and obviously dangerous forest.

Layla gulped nervously, but quickly put on a brave face and waited for her mentors to guide them into the awaiting forest.
