Ashley Bletchley One thing Cassandra truly missed, girl time. It was one thing she didn't get enough of when she was dating Mark. Now that she was single, she was bound and determined to make more time for her friends. One friend she had neglected and it was awful. Ashley. Ashley was so dear to her and always made her feel better. She felt horrible, but had sent her an Owl to meet for ice cream. Cassandra stood outside of her favorite Ice Cream Shoppe, waiting for her best friend. She was nervous. Would she show? She understood if she didn't. In fact, she half expected her not to. She had so much happen and so much to catch up on, she just needed to share with someone. At last, Cassandra spotted a familiar head of brown hair. Ashley. Her smile widened. "Ashley! Hi! I'm so glad you came." She led her friend in to the ice cream parlor. "Whatever you get, it's on me." She smiled. She was happy to be with her friend at last. |

Ashley was getting ready to meet her best friend in Diagon Ally for ice cream. Cassandra. She still considered her as her best friend in the whole wide world, despite how they haven't spent time with each other in so long. She was really excited when she received the owl from Cassandra. It was finally a chance to catch up with her. She was sure that Cass had a bunch of stuff to tell her. Ashley, on the other hand, barely had anything to talk about. Practically nothing had happened to her since the last time that they talked.
As Ashley walked closer to the ice cream parlour, she spotted her best friend. But, not before Cassandra spotted her. "Ashley! Hi! I'm so glad you came. Whatever you get, it's on me." "You don't have to do that," Ashley said as she walked into the parlour. |

Cassandra had recently come across a lot of money and wanted to blow some of it on her best friend. "I insist," she said. They walked to the counter and ordered their ice creams and went and sat at a table in the back. "My how I've missed you. How are things? Tell me everything that is going on with you." Cassandra didn't want to seem over-eager but she had missed her best friend.
She took a bite of her Strawberry ice cream. So much had happened to Cassandra. So much. She just wanted to listen to Ashley and what was going on in her life for a bit. Hopefully only good stuff had happened to her. She hated to see her friends sad and hurting. She smiled, waiting to see what Ashley would say. |

Ashley nodded. "Well, if you say so." Her best friend was insisting, so why not? She ordered a cut of cookies and cream ice cream before sitting down at a table.
"My how I've missed you. How are things? Tell me everything that is going on with you." A huge smile stretched across Ashley's face as she thought about her meeting with Adam the other day. "Everything's been good. Very good, actually. I met a certain boy who a really like a few days ago. and he likes me back." This was were Ashley began to blush. "His name's Allan Young. He told me that he knows you. He's extremely sweet... and cute... and an amazing kisser..," she told Cassandra before biting her lip. |

Ahmagash!!!!!! Cassandra was like so excited for Ashley. "Allan is an amazing boy. I wish you the best of luck. Have you been on a date with him?" Cassandra thought back to all of the fun times she had with Allan last year. Sure, he was cute, but she didn't like him like that. She was crushing hard on someone else, but she decided she'd become friends with him rather than jump into a relationship like she did with Mark. She and Mark ended abruptly because she barely got to know him first. She looked down at her ice cream.
How could she tell Ashley? She needed to know. Ashley was her best friend after all. She would probably have some advice for her. Biting into her ice cream, she remembered something. She needed to talk to Mark's parents. All of her stuff was still at his place. Perhaps she should just forget it and move on? She had money now and could buy new stuff. Yeah, she'd do that. Then she began to speak. "Mark and I broke up." She looked to see what Ashley would say. |

"Allan is an amazing boy. I wish you the best of luck. Have you been on a date with him?"
Ashley's cheeks turned a rosy red color. "I know, he is amazing. But, no, I haven't been on a date with him yet. Just kissed him. We only met a few days ago." Although, she really wished that they had. Maybe after they meet again., or during the next school term. "Are you friends with him?" Wouldn't that me awesome? Having her best friend be friends with her boyfriend? Even though she was getting a little ahead of herself. But, Ashley knew that it would be like how Cassandra and Mark are dating and she's friends with him. Wait. What?! "You and Mark broke up?" Ashley was shocked. "W-what? When?" This couldn't be possible. They were like the perfect couple. Friends and dating. Who could ask for more? "Why?" |

Cassandra smiled. "I am friends with Allan. He's a nice boy." She couldn't help it, she was so happy for Ashley. However, her good mood ended abruptly when Ashley asked her about Mark. "Yes we broke up. I hadn't seen him outside of class since Valentine's Day. Whenever I'd try to ask him to hang out after class, he'd scurry off. It was as if he was ignoring me." She sighed. It really wasn't fair.
Then she thought back to the Owl. "I sent him an Owl end of May asking him to meet me on the Astronomy Tower at 6pm the next evening. He never showed. I know he got the Owl because I asked someone and they said they saw him open the letter and throw it out. It was as if he was ignoring me. I never officially broke it off, but I didn't go home with him this summer. I haven't seen him since the last day of class. It was so weird. I thought we were so good together." It was okay though. "It moved way too fast. We didn't become friends first. We met and began to date the next day. We've been through so much, I don't know what happened. A little birdie told me they saw him with another girl, but I don't know what to believe. Besides, I like someone else." Ooops. Should she have said that? She blushed. She had a huge crush on a boy, and she actually felt different about him than she had about anyone. But she was going to be friends with him first and get to know him. That's the way things should be. |
